I was up $100k for the year after getting a big score in a tournament that'll be highlighted in some vlogs soon. After that I went as hard as I could over summer and played about $150k-$180k worth of tournaments including six $10k bullets and a $25k. I played almost no cash games. I got extremely close to some big scores, but not quite there including 6th, 10th, 19th, and 21st in bracelet events. You just have to get top 3 or 4 and it's tough to do that. I ran maybe the 3rd worst I've ever run over the last 2 months, which certainly caused me to play worse at times, and lost about $80k total. I'm still up around $500k in tournaments over the last 2.5 years, but I don't care all that much about short term results. The big picture and goal for me is to play against the best, study, improve, and in the long-run it should benefit me. I might breakeven for the next year or two, but I'm ok with that. I could just play 5/10 at Bellagio and win $100k with little stress, but I like challenges and want to work towards being the best player I can be. I also really want to win a major title at some point. To summarize all of this, I'm up about $20k YTD after getting smoked recently lol.

You are a great example of what the poker life actually is with you open transparency with the numbers and how much work goes into being a poker pro. I remember when I was in high school and it was the early 2000s and seeing people winning on the WSOP and thinking it was just about catching cards and boy would I have benefited from videos like yours back then. Thanks a lot. I often don't think about it because it's usually pretty overwhelming just getting through each week. I recently started writing motivational things on this whiteboard in my office though and coincidentally today I wrote, "Pause to reflect: your younger self wouldn't believe that you accomplished so much and came so far." I feel very fortunate to be in the position I'm in with so many opportunities. If I told the 16 yr old version of me all the cool things I've been a part of, he would be really proud. I can't take credit for the MUG idea though; that was all Andrew's concept. I'm glad he asked me to be his partner on it. Thanks again for the comment, it's always good to see you on here.

I think the last hand is mandatory River bluff. You have no showdown, and the villain might trap the flop, but after you check back turn he will be leading his value on the river. He will never have a set or two pair and is capped at a one pair holding like AQ, AJ, TT, 99 which will very likely fold the river

On the trip kings hand - I like the idea behind your play, but wonder if you could balance it better given the opponents range. He has a naked A of clubs a good % of the time + the few King of clubs combos that remain. Best move might have been to slow down, take a second to consider your options, and end up with a small bet to induce a bluff.

    A5s @7:56, 300bb deep, solver prefers a 4.5x sizing on a 4bet 300bb deep, so $1800.
On this flop, it wants to bet entire range 25%. If I give the solver b25, b50, b75, b100, it still picks b25 the vast amount of times. B100 does get into play some amount 5% with strong value hands, some flush draws, or total air.
$700 is perfect sizing (in solver land)
Turn, solver wants to pick b100 or check. and it checks 80% of the time and bets 100% pot with hands like 65/76 (because it puts pressure on 77-QQ and also blocks 66 (set)), flush draws, AK, A3, and mix b100/check with air. Your hand should check here 100% of time. Even when I split a sizing between b40 and b100, it checks A5 here 100% of the time.
River, solver wants to pick b40. Even when I split bet sizes, it still picks b40 the vast majority of the time for the highest ev option and it bets your hand 100% of the time. (Although ironically, with your hand, b33 (what you bet) does roughly 0.03bb better than b40)).
    Nice hand.

On the flush at the beginning, when you move all in - isn’t the only thing he’s calling with is a flopped flush which beats you? Curious why you took that route. I guess a smaller bet opens you up to a check raise and puts you in an awkward spot. With that board, I can’t see him putting you on a pure bluff. I’m a rank amateur but thought it was a curious play. Love the videos.

I really like the $900 block bet on river when u run into top set on the river. Weird bet sizing when u 2x jam river on that texture. Pretty sure you missed some value w a reasonable river bet small sizing or get to call it off when your opponent bluffs

Well played! Only thing i would say is on that last hand i feel you should of bet 3/4 pot to represent trips or straights and it would of forced the opponent to fold. Perhaps if you had a higher bankroll you would of been more comfortable to take that risk.
