They’re out here fighting for the wigs . I almost think it’s a hater of BW that posted that comment. Surely it can’t be a BW because she’s so caught up in BW continuing being mocked and laughed at because of our bald heads by the same South Eastern Asian women she seeks validation from when our lives and theirs do not converge at all. She fails to understand the spiritual, racial and economic ramifications of the continuation of wig wearing by BW ,that goes against our phenotypes and losing our pretty privilege. She’s so sad I want to cry but we’re going to have to leave such people behind and soldier on likeminded BW.
It make no sense to wear a protective style 90% of the time when you are young and have healthy hair. Wear your own healthy hair while you are young and wait until your hair is thinning in old age before you become a slave to the wig. Just my honest opinion.
I’m so glad I’m coming across more channels of black women promoting natural hair. I got tired of video after video of black women wearing weaves and talking about how much they hate their natural hair and prefer their weaves.
These wigs and weaves have seriously made us delusional. 1. We look better our own hair. How can the hair that grows out of your scalp not look good on you/be right for you??? Seems like we’re the only ones that have this problem right? All of us look better with full, thick healthy curls & coils rather than a stiff wig lace showing and hard edges. Y’all would rather look like a bad imitation that actually take care of what you’re born with. 2. In 95% of cases nobody believes the straight/wavy wig is ours. Even if it looks good or realistic. “It looks good for a wig” is the most you’ll get. So trying to find the finest lace or laying the edges perfectly or spending $400…it’s still gonna be perceived as a decent looking wig. Not “wow she has such beautiful hair. I’m jealous ” Which is what all of us want right? Everyone just perceives it as a knock off of other women’s beauty bc why are we spending hundred to mimic the texture of others…who don’t do the same for us? Hmm? And 3. With some time and patience, yall could’ve already had the HEALTHY waist length hair of your dreams in a few years. 5-6 max if you practiced good length retention. Instead of taking out a small loan every time you need a wig. A full set of natural hair products will set you back maybe $100-$200 a year…but it’s a tiny fraction of the price of constantly buying these new wigs that are ruining your hair and hiding your true beauty.
The sad thing is that a lot of young black women have lost a lot of their hair. Especially around the edges. I have seen some with receding hairlines. Hopefully it grows back.
I agree with you girlie! For some, wearing wigs/weaves/braids has become less about fun, but rather more about being “acceptable” or only feeling “pretty” in these and as a result covering up there God-given beautiful hair; mostly due to a multitude of reasons. We do have the most unique hair, and we’ve been taught directly or indirectly that it just wasn’t acceptable. Yet, detaching from this lie has been a true blessing for me, so I am thankful for your channel! For years I would get braids back to back (while only letting my hair breathe for a week). Just a few months ago, I begin wearing my natural hair (in mini twists, out or in mini braids, etc.) it was challenging at first, I wanted to throw in braids again any chance I got; yet prayer and asking God to help me see myself as He does really helped. I do pray for other black women, that they would too embrace what they were given. For the ones who do cleave to weaves/braids/wigs/relaxers, I do hope they are informed of the risks that are associated with them. Thanks for making the content you do. We are beautiful too, I’m a firmer believer in trusting that God doesn’t make any mistakes; and He sure didn’t with our hair 💜🤍😊
I agree. Many black women still think they are more beautiful with straight hair Then black women say they love God. God made your natural hair. It wasn't a mistake having kinky curly hair.
@@ChocolateSquadChannel as a fellow SAn, yes. She's lying too, yes MOST SAn women wear either braids, short hair or cute natural afros. The IG baddies are promoting this weird "boujee" lifestyle of expensive weaves and makeup and more and more girls are starting to feel pressured into wearing weaves. A few years back, in SA you wouldn't have seen that many straight weaves on social media and real life. These weave girls love to act like the fake hair makes them more expensive and glamorous.
