    As a user of two Mevo Start cameras for small space worship and Sunday School class, I hope we can come up with the budget for one of these. As a "self-contained" streaming camera, the Mevo system simply works. This new camera will definitely address the digital zoom, output quality issue that the Mevo Start suffered from when the camera was required to be further away than really desired simply due to the room. The ability to put a powered zoom lens on the camera and control it will be an excellent feature for our Chapel space.

    Option 1: Logitech Camera - $1000
    Option 2: SONY ZV-E10 - $800
    Honestly, this seems like a no-brainer. Why is the Logitech camera priced so high at $1000? It would make more sense if it were around $300. It feels like Logitech is intentionally pricing themselves out of the market with this one.

    This is the same price as the recently released Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2. I am going with the BM system since it has 13 stops of DR, built-in DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector, Tally light, and can record RAW to USB devices too. I also like the ATEM integration and using the desktop app instead of needing a tablet to control the cameras. Still a decent camera and the NDI support is nice, but the price to features seems a little high compared to established options.

    • @meatbyproducts
      @meatbyproducts 8 месяцев назад +1

      I have more questions about this camera than have been answered in videos. The BM option is better for a professional set up and this thing is geared at a streamer that knows little about cameras.

    • @trendyboymx
      @trendyboymx 8 месяцев назад +1

      Don't you need a monitor to control the Micro Studio? I keep seeing the comparisons between the Mevo Core and the G2. I am also on the fence about which product to get. They have the same price point and the G2 seems to have a superior image,.Plus, the brand offers a better resale value. Also, the Mevo Core is highly dependent on Logitech's software. So, there is a good chance that in 5 years the Mevo Core will become a brick, while the G2 will likely still be functional 10 years from now. With that said, it seems the G2 requires a lot of setups plus knowledge of what one is doing and does not seem really made for streaming / youtubing. It also seems to need almost a mini rig, with a power supply, SSD storage, a monitor, and a monitor. While the Mevo Core is a plug-and-play solution that is super easy to set up and gives great results. Some commentators mention that the g2 assumes someone is behind the camera making adjustments on the go. Almost $1k is a lot of money for a glorified webcam, but the G2 does not seem to be an exact replacement.
      I wish there would be more comparisons between the two models. I have spent significant time combing through RUclips and Reddit. The Mevo Core has only sponsored reviews here. For the G2, although it was launched almost 6 months ago, there is very little available, and comes more from the perspective of a filmmaker rather than a RUclipsr/Streamer.

    I really wish there was some sort of all-in-one power zoom lens option for MFT. We only have the 14-42mm and 45-175mm near duplicate pair of models from both Panasonic and Olympus. Something with around 10x zoom range like a 14-140mm would be ideal. Slap that on GH6/G9 II and you have the beginnings of a modern day AG-AF105 m43 pro camcorder.

    So many people on this comment thread have alot to learn. The box form factor is perfect for live streaming and rigged up cinema shoots. Have you ever tried to change exposure and compose your cameras for a stream without an app on screen to control everything? Its a nightmare.
    Pro’s:
    1) Sensor size & M43 mount
    2) NDI
    3) Power: Usb-C to Ethernet for POE+ and data stream simultaneously.
    4) Mevo Software to fully control the camera.
    5) 1/4 -20” with Arri pin mounts for secure rigging.
    Cons: Builtin Battery (6 hours)
    CDAF: Contrast AF
    It is half the price of a Panasonic BGH1, ($2,000) with many of its features minus pro features like timecode, shutter angle, and Pro Res Raw out for half the price at $1,000.
    All this complaining when no a GH5 does not have these features with a capture card. Stop being cheap. Lol

    • @Carthodon
      @Carthodon 8 месяцев назад

      Canon ef lenses could be adapted using an adapter however I have no idea if you'd be able to maintain power zoom with an ef lens, or if such a lens even exists. Keep in mind that while there are adapters that allow you to maintain autofocus and aperture control, quality of the adapter varies and generally will be worse than using a lens natively.

This is cute but will fall apart when in more harsher environments when there is 100+ devices in a single place having a wireless 2.4 ghz solution is asking for trouble, nothing beats a cable (ethernet or fiber).

      Low volume niche product 🤷‍♂ If you love the app and the ecosystem around it, it may be better than any Panny or Oly that you can get for peanuts second hand. Made for multicam stuff, unlike every other M4/3 body, so I expect that they will lean into that. But very niche product.

    • @KriittinenUusinta
      @KriittinenUusinta 8 месяцев назад

      @@stickgarrote8582I think the biggest competitor is that small blackmagic mft cube camera, that costs the same but has more professional features like 12g sdi and connects to a more professional ecosystem like atem switcher.
      There's also gh5m2 that has a lot of multicam connectivity and can be paired with s5xii, but those are a bit costier options.
      But for a random youtuber or streamer that needs a multicam this might be a viable option. Or someone who just wants to upgrade their webcam with the least amount of technical know-how to get into.
      The price should be lower in my opinion. Somewhere around 400-700 for the body.

      They are quite clearly targeting people that buy Blackmagic micro studio cameras. If you look at the product with that in mind and consider the full eco system cost, it starts to make sense.
      Some of the design compromises will appeal to certain users while keeping others away.
      $2-300 cheaper and BMD would be worried. As it is now at the same price, MEVO will steal some of their sales but not from the higher end users.
