Jason, have you seen anyone making a cage for the Mevo Core yet by chance? Also, have you ever considered switching your mobile power program to use NP-F, L-Series or V-Mount batteries instead of the off-the-shelf generic battery banks? When I'm mobile streaming I find I'm as worried about battery life than I am about signal and like the idea of maybe switching to something like that.
@@JasonHoffmanYT I guess it depends on the physical setup more than anything. The watt-hours are the watt-hours no matter the battery form facdtor. But, for instance, I bought the ElecJet batteries based on your videos about them and they were great in terms of power but they're just sort of clunky mounting to a tripod. I just 3D printed some mounts and used a carabiner and some velcro to "get by". Basically, the NP-F type batteries (or similar form factor battery types) seem built specifically with video / camera applications in mind rather - especially when it comes to mounting configuration - than the power bank stuff that is just a stand-a-lone block of energy to power everything from phones to someone's Raspberry Pi vacation dog feeder project. I was just curious if you had considered that.
Lately, I added monitors to my Mevo Cores so I wouldn't have to keep looking away at my ipad to see if I had football action in the center of the camera frame. Esp when zooming in on ball carrier using a long focal length lens from distance it's difficult to accomplish without a monitor. Many monitors have integral NP-F mounts, though and just made me wonder if you had used any of those in your setup.
Might be different ISO settings on the Core affecting this a bit, but the G9 sensor has definitely much better dynamic range (just look at the skintones, shirt shadow, the Nearstream back on that shelf)
If you do a comparison, can you please put both camera names into the title and also clearly in the description? You have so many links in the description, yet the cameras that you compare in this video don't seem to be in there.
Is an update to the mevo start just around the corner? I wanted to get the 3 pack to start going live with little league games but I heard you mention in passing, on one of your other videos, that an update to mevo start with possible optical zoom might be coming soon. I don't want to invest and then 3 to 6 months later a newer one comes out. Any advice?
Incredibly helpful video! Danke Jason!
Glad you thought so! Thanks

I havent seen anything specifically for the Core yet. No, what is the benefit of NP-F batteries over a battery bank?

I’m looking forward to having both of them in streams. Thanks for the insight!

And in the thumbnail. Others are fixed, thanks

I did not mean to imply a new Start. I havent heard a whisper about what’s coming from them.
