Fort Lauderdale, Florida - On Thursday, March 21, 2024, just after 7:30 a.m., a caller reported that he had killed someone inside of a hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express at 1500 SE 17th St., according to police. The suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Karl Chludinsky of Margate, later mentioned his wife was being sexually assaulted and that he would kill anyone who approached his room. The body camera video shows multiple Fort Lauderdale Police officers in tactical gear approaching the hotel room door with rifles and handguns drawn.
“Hands up, Hands up! Let me see your hands!” said responding officers. Chludinsky is then seen opening the door, with a cellphone in one hand and a firearm pointed at officers in the other. Officers are then seen exchanging gunfire with Chludinsky. A few moments pass before Chludinsky opens fire from inside the room through the door and officers return fire. During the gunfire, FLPD Officer Jack DiCristofalo was struck. DiCristofalo was taken to a local hospital and later released. SWAT members responded to the hotel to enter the room where they found Chludinsky dead. No one else was inside the room. FLPD Officer Pascal France suffered minor injuries unrelated to gunfire and was treated at the scene.

My opinion. Hate to be the critic but this seems reckless to me . They are spraying 223 or 556 rounds in a room not knowing if other people are in the room. There’s a podcast about it
It was a call of duty pro player named Lamar Accuracy lol he was talking about it
They were there for a call of duty major tournament
My man in room 615 is probably on a work trip trying to get some good sleep before a very important quality management presentation. Then BLAM! He is an extra in Die Hard 6.

Worst handling of a standard barricade I’ve seen in awhile. Those cops are lucky they didn’t get smoked. SMH.

I swear that cop with the door card just lit up room 615. That barrel was pointed right at that room when he busted those shots just to be part or it and have a cool story to tell at thanksgiving dinner.
None of those cops had any idea where any of their bullets were going, mostly into other people's rooms.
the bullets went straight through the door and not hit any other rooms, it's common for hotal rooms to have windows aka, no other room behind it, the only way the bullets could have gone was outside, plus it had to be through 2 walls meaning it would lose its energy and or become stuck in the wall
Good try. In these situations, the staff are taught to call the rooms near and have the people quietly leave before they start anything, or they send someone to clear them first, and that's if the staff has a record of anyone in those rooms.
sorry "expert"
@@NezumiMaus guarantee bullets went into the room next door because the black cop with pistol was shooting at a angle where it would have went straight into the next room

Assuming they weren't swiss cheesed by the wild and inappropriate "pray and spray" clusterfuck in the hallway there...
Nah they were sleeping and woke up to it. It was Accuracy and Lynnz, they are Call of Duty pros
Insane. Those cops had no idea who was behind the door when they sprayed it - could have been children in there.

I noticed that. Completely worthless.
Was he the one hit , probably his own bullet ricocheted back.
Not quite, the room opened out in that direction, have another look .
That's one way to check out...
As a hotel worker myself, all I can think about is how messed up things we'll get for the hotel, having to block that room for a while and handling complaints from angry/scared clients
May he rest in peace because he sure didn't have it when he was alive.
Note to self: If ever build hotel in US, make walls bulletproof.
* except for 1 room. Alocate suspicious individuals into that room to facilitate the police's job if a event like this does occur.
You could make it an option. Like smoking or non-smoking. Bulletproof or non-bulletproof.
They make bullet resistant drywall. It’s about $300 a sheet. I’ve seen them installed in government offices. Not sure if it can stop .223, but it probably can stop a 0.40.
That seems a bit dangerous. Those hotel walls aren't very thick.
made in US. they have paper houses over there
And 9mm are not supposed to go through walks.
The rifles on the other hand...
"A bit dangerous" is a distinct understatement. No sight on target. No sight on background. Walls that would not stop a .22lr and too many people in too small a space. Yeh, a bit dangerous.
I hope the hotel was instructed to call the surrounding rooms to evacuate.

From a local newspaper:
A records search found that Chludinsky had several arrests, including one dating back to 2006.
Chludinsky was Baker Acted as recently as January 2022. His mother and his girlfriend reported he held a gun in his mouth and threatened to kill himself. They convinced him to put the gun down and took him to a hospital to get help.
Margate Police obtained a risk protection order against him, saying he posed "a significant danger of causing personal injury" to himself or others, that he "may be seriously mentally ill or have recurring mental health issues" and had "recklessly used, displayed or brandished a firearm." The risk protection order was in effect until Jan. 31 of this year as the law requires, unless it's extended further.
A judge ordered Chludinsky to surrender to police his two handguns, magazines and ammunition from his car and a shotgun and shells from his home closet.
In December 2022, a Margate detective spoke with Chludinsky, who said, "his life had been progressing forward." He had been under care since July 2022 with a psychiatric nurse, who said he had "good judgment, is making good progress, and has the capacity to make independent legal, medical and financial decisions."
“Karl would like to have his firearms returned,” Det. Megan Britt wrote in that affidavit to the court.
It appears Chludinsky got his firearms back after the risk protection order expired.
He won't be needing those firearms anymore
Meanwhile if you walked by the capitol building on Jan 9th you sit in solitary confinement.
No more worrying about that mental health.

The crazy thing about this is that there was a major pro call of duty tournament going on down the street. A bunch of of the players were staying at the hotel and talking about it all weekend.
