Perfect example of why the full body search matters. He was giving every sign in the world that he was hiding something, should’ve had more officers show up to help search the guy BEFORE he was placed in the car.
If the Chief was smart he would fire the original two who searched him. That's what happened to an officer in my hometown who didn't search well and the transporting officer was shot in the head.

My dad is a retired police officer and always emphasised the importance of a thorough initial search to his junior colleagues. They were delighted when he arrived back at the station one afternoon with a prisoner who waited until he was in front of the custody desk to produce a live pigeon from the lining of his coat. He still hasn't lived it down.
That officer being able to get back in the fight after a point blank shot to the face shows pure courage and will to live. Hats off to you sir, I hope your recovery is going as smooth as possible.

The few arresting cops had such a shit show. All were sloppy during the arrest and search. This incident was totally avoidable if they just do their jobs as trained.

You need a minute to process what happened, what is happening, what you have to do next, etc etc. Man was running off of a ton of adrenaline and trying to make what decisions he thought would contribute to his survival at the time. They kind of let the guy wander around bleeding everywhere until the staff INSIDE began administering aid.
I say this, but I've seen footage of a Ukranian soldier losing a foot to a mine, and less than 10 seconds he begins to tournequet his leg for his own survival. Something about being that well trained is very distrubing to me. Man couldn't give himself time to process what happened and immediately began working towards his survival. Incredibly disciplined training.
Some criminals find ways to conceal without getting caught. He patted him down both sides. So they probably missed his ass (literally) or mostly like his big sweater. Idk. But yeah they always find a way. Sadly this happened

You saw how hard he was resisting turning over and keeping his knees up to his gut. You saw how hard he was resisting staying still when you stood him up. When you get lazy, people get killed. That officer's will to live was incredible. Even managed to get two hits on the scumbag after getting shot point blank. Glad all officers involved survived and hope they all heal quickly. It amazes me that he rolled into cover then got up and back in the fight as fast as he did, especially considering getting shot in the face was what knocked him out. I've been knocked out twice (both workplace incidents lol) and you can't even describe the sheer disorientation when you first wake up, it feels like you're in a different plane of existence. It took me like 15-20 minutes just to get on my feet both times but this cop just shrugged it off like nothing. Absolute tank.

I couldn't believe my eyes when that cop staggered to his feet and tried to get back into the fight. It seemed like he was acting on pure instinct. The fact that his instinct led him to jump back in the action... that really shows what a hero he is at heart.
If you take a look the cop that was shot ..later stood up and when the suspect was down he (the injured cop) shot twice while the suspect was on the floor. Looks like an execution or act of revenge at least. Very inhuman reaction. But I get it. Must be a a trauma response.

I was thinking the same thing. Street training for those Sheriff jailers. My issue is they were inside the jail waiting port armed. Should be a clear that operation changes need to be made and heads roll because of this.

Some states, like Montana, has a “heightened sense of the 4th amendment” Some agencies and especially county attorneys discourage a thorough search incident arrest because “that can be taken care of at the jail” I absolutely lose my mind when I hear this

I was a law enforcement officer for a few years and this was one of the first things they tought us. Always make sure you do a very good search especially if they are acting like they are trying to hide something!

The video was slightly edited, but the cop who got shot double tapped him right at the end. The DA actually CONSIDERED charges against her officer for those last two shots. Luckily the criminal still had the gun in his hands, and the cop had no clue if he was alive or dead.

I've watched this maybe 20 times and I'm still getting nervous and sweaty palms everytime. That cop who took the round and was able to not only get himself out of trouble but get back into the fight and walk himself to help was amazing. The other morons who work at the jail who WALKED PAST HIM while SCREAMING about calling 911 instead of rendering aide made me smdh. The female detective deserves to be recognized for recognizing the critically injured officer in front of her and immediately went to render aide. Awesome job by her.
Never give up, never stop fighting. A true warrior. I've seen officers freak out and run away after sustaining minor injuries, this man is a true officer. Even after being shot point blank he didn't give up and still ran toward the danger. Yes, the search was poor and the bad guy gave every clue he was hiding something, but there are a lot of lessons to be learned from this video.
Huge respect to the female officer or whatever who started treating him. Way too many officers walked past the guy without rendering aid. A SWAT officer responded with a rifle and ran to his car to get his trauma kit a little later.

My heart is still racing! I can't imagine being there in the middle of such a situation. My dad was a cop for 20 years, and thankfully never had to discharge his weapon. I have to say however, the search the cops did initially was rushed, and not thorough at all. The cop even said while he was searching him, " Why are you reaching? " This whole event should, and could have been avoided. It was strange when the cop that was shot went inside and it seemed that no one there knew or had heard what was going on yet? Prayers to the officers involved!

You need a minute to process what happened, what is happening, what you have to do next, etc etc. Man was running off of a ton of adrenaline and trying to make what decisions he thought would contribute to his survival at the time. I kind of feel bad his buddies didn't jump in there for him after the perp was downed behind that sedan. They kind of let the guy wander around bleeding everywhere until the staff INSIDE began administering aid.
I say this, but I've seen footage of a Ukranian soldier losing a foot to a mine, and less than 10 seconds he begins to tournequet his leg for his own survival.
Something about being that well trained is very distrubing to me. Man couldn't give himself time to process what happened and immediately began working towards his survival. Incredibly disciplined training.

You saw how hard he was resisting turning over and keeping his knees up to his gut. You saw how hard he was resisting staying still when you stood him up. When you get lazy, people get killed. That officer's will to live was incredible. Even managed to get two hits on the scumbag after getting shot point blank. Glad all officers involved survived and hope they all heal quickly. It amazes me that he rolled into cover then got up and back in the fight as fast as he did, especially considering getting shot in the face was what knocked him out. I've been knocked out twice (both workplace incidents lol) and you can't even describe the sheer disorientation when you first wake up, it feels like you're in a different plane of existence. It took me like 15-20 minutes just to get on my feet both times but this cop just shrugged it off like nothing. Absolute tank.

I couldn't believe my eyes when that cop staggered to his feet and tried to get back into the fight. It seemed like he was acting on pure instinct. The fact that his instinct led him to jump back in the action... that really shows what a hero he is at heart.

If you take a look the cop that was shot ..later stood up and when the suspect was down he (the injured cop) shot twice while the suspect was on the floor. Looks like an execution or act of revenge at least. Very inhuman reaction. But I get it. Must be a a trauma response.

I was a law enforcement officer for a few years and this was one of the first things they tought us. Always make sure you do a very good search especially if they are acting like they are trying to hide something!

Never give up, never stop fighting. A true warrior. I've seen officers freak out and run away after sustaining minor injuries, this man is a true officer. Even after being shot point blank he didn't give up and still ran toward the danger. Yes, the search was poor and the bad guy gave every clue he was hiding something, but there are a lot of lessons to be learned from this video.

My heart is still racing! I can't imagine being there in the middle of such a situation. My dad was a cop for 20 years, and thankfully never had to discharge his weapon. I have to say however, the search the cops did initially was rushed, and not thorough at all. The cop even said while he was searching him, " Why are you reaching? " This whole event should, and could have been avoided. It was strange when the cop that was shot went inside and it seemed that no one there knew or had heard what was going on yet? Prayers to the officers involved!

The officer who got shot in the neck is such a badass trying to help get back into the fight after getting shot point-blank. May that man have a speedy recovery and God bless for having an officer like him in our country. Truly amazing.

The perp survived, got sentenced to 31 years. shortly after his sentencing, he hung himself.
People never look at the descriptions in these videos huh. it explicitly tells us that the perp, Jordan, survived this shootout with the cops, he hanged himself later. So much for the false bravado, the cop didn't kill the perp. Yes, it's good he managed to get up and back into the fight, but stop pretending like a facade played out instead of the reality of this situation.

That is how you allow thing to escalate to a leader throwing political opponents in jail for a 'crime' that never happened so they can keep on being the leader. The United States of America has the Constitution for a reason, due process and innocent until proven guilty.

I'm glad all officers are okay and survived. This is why it's crucial that you always, ALWAYS thoroughly search for your suspects / arrestees.
I noticed the left side was never searched on the scene. If a suspect is raising 8 layers of hell to keep you from searching something, search that thing especially.
