For a big part of my life I hated the police, until one cop went outta his way to save my life when I was about to end it because my best friend had just gotten shot. Cop eat there with me on the edge. Told me about his story a bit. I still got hella issues with police, but now I know that at least it's not all of them, and some of them actually want to help.

I was a combat medic in Afghanistan and I also taught combat life saving skills to non medical soldiers. The civilian that helped the officer was on point. He did a great job on reassuring the officer in an intense situation.

@hanajinks1044 I get what you're saying. Everyone is different and especially when you're in a life or death situation. For instance if I'm trying something on a patient and I'm getting negative results I'll switch gears and try a different approach. The civilian did what he thought was right and it worked out in this ordeal. If you noticed whenever the civilian would tell the officer to "look at me, grab my hand etc", the officer complied. However, if the officer was combative or being difficult then yes some other method should be considered.

I've never been shot and wouldn't want to be. I was hit by a car tho and it wasn't so serious. This didn't stop the ambulance guys yabbering at me all the way to the hospital when l was trying to collect my thoughts. I guess everyone is different.

Terrifying how much the suspect was able to move around without even being seen by the first 3 officers. I didn’t realize he had already left the car and been killed until watching Officer Perez’s cam
Bodycams are very restricted in view compared to actually being on scene, however when the second officer was taking cover infront of the silver vehicle with the civilian and then seeing how close the suspect was getting to them from that other angle is some serious pucker factor. Suspect looked like he was trying to carjack both the old woman in the black car and the guy in the silver car after wrecking out, got to be terrifying for those innocent people caught in the middle of all that

She’s in a battle with no weapon and the Officer who approached could see she was frantic and I felt like wanted to take her to safety but I think he covered her when she ran to the left. Anyone of us not armed in that situation would be scared out of there mind. I hope she gets counseling as she was directly in the middle for about 10 minutes during a major shootout and was not friendly fire. 😢😢😢

As a former cop, just glad all of the officers are ok. Including the officer who got shot. I can tell you this, that’s gonna be one heck of an investigation scene to handle for which ever officer has to handle it. Also for their shooting investigation team. They have to account for every shot that was fired by officers.

For a big part of my life I hated the police, until one cop went outta his way to save my life when I was about to end it because my best friend had just gotten shot. Cop eat there with me on the edge. Told me about his story a bit. I still got hella issues with police, but now I know that at least it's not all of them, and some of them actually want to help.

I was a combat medic in Afghanistan and I also taught combat life saving skills to non medical soldiers. The civilian that helped the officer was on point. He did a great job on reassuring the officer in an intense situation.
I appreciate what you've said but am positive that if that were me the last thing I'd need was someone yelling at me like that as opposed to just being able to try and relax. Do you have any thoughts on this?

@hanajinks1044 I get what you're saying. Everyone is different and especially when you're in a life or death situation. For instance if I'm trying something on a patient and I'm getting negative results I'll switch gears and try a different approach. The civilian did what he thought was right and it worked out in this ordeal. If you noticed whenever the civilian would tell the officer to "look at me, grab my hand etc", the officer complied. However, if the officer was combative or being difficult then yes some other method should be considered.

Bodycams are very restricted in view compared to actually being on scene, however when the second officer was taking cover infront of the silver vehicle with the civilian and then seeing how close the suspect was getting to them from that other angle is some serious pucker factor. Suspect looked like he was trying to carjack both the old woman in the black car and the guy in the silver car after wrecking out, got to be terrifying for those innocent people caught in the middle of all that

She’s in a battle with no weapon and the Officer who approached could see she was frantic and I felt like wanted to take her to safety but I think he covered her when she ran to the left. Anyone of us not armed in that situation would be scared out of there mind. I hope she gets counseling as she was directly in the middle for about 10 minutes during a major shootout and was not friendly fire. 😢😢😢

As a former cop, just glad all of the officers are ok. Including the officer who got shot. I can tell you this, that’s gonna be one heck of an investigation scene to handle for which ever officer has to handle it. Also for their shooting investigation team. They have to account for every shot that was fired by officers.

If I'm reading this correct, Officer Gibson has been in the hospital for close to a month. Right? If that's the case, wishing him a full and speedy recovery. Good job to all the Officers involved. Good job to the citizens who also helped.

This isn't a jungle, this is people's houses on the side of the freeway. this is regular civilians that could fuckin die.

My future “brother-in-law” is one of the officers in this video. While it’s nerve-racking to see him in a situation like this, I’m so beyond proud of him and grateful for the other officers, as well as John Lally-the Good Samaritan who stepped in and stepped up by jumping into action and helping our boys in blue. ❤️
