eating the rainbow is a solid formula i learned a few years ago and making an effort to add variety makes food more visually appealing for me as well as incorporating contrasting taste profiles

Not sure how I came across your videos but I’m so glad I did. I’ve been ovo-vegetarian for almost 11 years now. I was repeating the same recipes for the last two years and getting bored with my food. However your videos have introduced new recipes and it’s so simple and delicious! I feel inspired again to cook so thank you for your content. I really enjoy it and I’m excited to try these salads next!
Love watching your videos. You always make me smile. I am a cook in a small vegan café in California with a regular menu, the only things that change are our hummus and soup. It gets a little boring when I go home and make the same old vegan food for myself...thank you for giving me some great ideas.
Made the taco salad the other day. Wow. That sunflower seed thing is incredible. I found it even tasted better the next day right out of the fridge. And it's very filling without being heavy feeling. I am going to try some of your other recipes. Love your approach, Andrew! Thank you!
Yum, I LOVE me some salad & kale! I just had a big bowl of it yesterday: Kale, arugula, red onions, dried cranberries & tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, a creamy & tangy cashew-based dressing and baked potatoes & sweet potatoes - I make it all the time; it's the best! 😋
I Love salads with Mixed Greens, Arugula, Spinach, Chick Peas, Mini Cucumbers, Red Peppers, Red Onion, Olives, Avocado Oil & Apple cider vinegar and Herb & Garlic Spice. This is a Delicious Salad, you can also put Hard Boiled eggs in it.
I really love these recipes and am hooked on this channel to come up with new vegan ideas. Another tip would be to ditch the store bought taco seasoning and make your own without the extra bs they add to it(smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper) when I discovered this, I stopped buying store bought and you can customize it.
I am seriously addicted to your channel. I am very grateful for your creativity. Much respect from Vancouver BC Canada. I watch every morning while drinking my morning tea before work.
The possibilities for a mouth watering & satisfying salad are endless! Now I'm going to my fridge and pantry to determine what I'm going to have in mine for lunch. Of course, color, color, color! 😊
It’s so precious that you play Barbies with your daughters. I haven’t heard anyone use this expression “play Barbies” except by me and my best friend almost 60 years ago. Thanks for your great recipes, and many thanks for a good memory, although unintentional. 😊
The sunflower seeds... Great source of vitamin E, Copper, Iron, Folate, B1 and B6! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORRRRRRRRRRK! Also... Don't be afraid to throw apple in a salad :)
I really like that taco salad because I would never have thought of using soaked sunflower seeds with seasoning to make a taco meat substitute. Thank you for this video.
Yooooooooo!!!! That kale salad was LIFE!!! Thank you so much for inspiring me to think outside the basic salad box! Day 10 of plant based eating and I’m amazed by all the delicious healthy flavors I’ve been missing out on all these years. I feel FANTASTIC!
I'm here for that taco salad! I have diabetes, and have decided that I want to live long, be strong and healthier, So I'm starting a work week salad a day to lose weight and keep my blood sugar down and eventually get off my medications! Thank you for your recipes! Also, I was raised vegetarian so the sunflower seed meat was outstanding to see, that's a new one for me and I cannot wait to try it! 😊
oh shit! As a chef, I'm picturing the flavors and textures of the first salad in my mind and they taste awesome. I think the creaminess of the avocado will blend the crunch and spices from the sweet potato and chickpeas so well with the fresh vibes from the sweet'n'sour'n'light bitterness from the kale. God it looks amazing xD Maybe I would add some cooked red beets after drowning them in lime(zest), roasted black pepper corns and olive oil, for some extra sweet and sour happiness and to give it a bit more of a 2022 inclusive colorscheme 😇 Well done my friend and I can't wait for the rest of the video
I've been eating salads more this year than I ever have. Most of them have been BASIC. This video has some great ideas I plan on trying in my next salad.
It makes such a big difference and healthy to eat plant-base. I was told that hard chips are like daggers that can cut through your gut lining, leaving holes in it.
Well, I love pretty much any salad combination - and after a few days of conference catering I was DREAMYING of a salad. It means however, that most of the salads I eat are of the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink type - which is absolutely fine BUT certainly lacks creativity ;P I looove the addition of sweet potato to the kale salad (they sounded so crispy!), the use of sunflower seeds in the taco "meat" for the second recipe and the parmesan with arugula - never added vegan cheese to my salads! . Anyways, really a great video! I love your filming style, all the tips and stories and simply your sense of humor :D Have a great rest of the week!
My go to formula for a salad is: 1. Aim for 80-90% raw fresh veg &/or fruit. The greener the better. 2. Include lots of plant fats using suitable oils for a dressing & roasted (soft) nuts &/or seeds like sesame, sunflower, pecan, cashew etc. 3. Infuse the dressing with lots of flavour using garlic, spices, a type of acid (citrus or vinegar), salt, soy-sauce etc. 4. Optionally, add a warm/grilled or textured/crispy element for a diverse mouthfeel & enjoyment.
I hope you will offer a version of vegan West African Stew. It's very savory with unexpected incredients: tomatoes and peanut butter with kale and chunks of sweet potato. I just found the "Make it Dairy Free" channel! 🙋♀ How great! Now I am following that one, too. I love your work. ❤
thank you so much! Im trying to study a few different cuisines to keep things interesting. I hope at some point i can provide something that sounds so incredible!
I’m so glad RUclips suggested you to me. I want to start incorporating more salads in my diet, but I don’t love the idea of Salads lol. just made it more practical because you understand how much I really don’t wanna do this 😂
I love a salad with lots of ingredients besides the leafy greens. I throw everything I have in there - aside from the usual tomatoes or avocado, I'll throw in leftover brown rice, beans, tofu, sunflower seeds, nuts, corn, you name it. Whatever I have hanging around that seems to be a likely candidate for a salad. My favorite thing to do is to mash half an avocado in the bowl first, and then make it into a dressing with some balsamic vinegar or lemon juice, and some seasonings. Then I'll build the salad and toss it all together.
Was looking for salad options and this video came up first. I'm happy I clicked on it, because not only do I see salads I'd actually eat, but he is really funny😂
Oh my word 😍 my dream guy is vegan! 🥰🥰 Loved this video, your style, and your personality. I came here looking for colorful salad inspo and I got a whole lot more! 🥰
I wash all my fruits, melons, roots, and vegetables in distilled vinegar and water as soon as I bring them home from the store. Your mother is very wise. Run warm water over apples, pears, plums, and other thin skin fruit. If they look or feel covered in wax rub baking soda on them to remove the pesticide, then wash with your cleaning solution. I also wipe clean fresh mushrooms with a paper towel that has been dipped in the vinegar and water solution.
I love your teaching, instructions & insights...especially the kale analogy because I love green cabbage but hate kale...I'm trying though...you're just great!!!

Great salad ideas! Thanks and loving the channel 👏🏾! Romaine lettuce is actually very packed with nutrients including all 8 of the essential amino acids, omega-3, iron, beta carotene, folate, and vitamins C, E & K. They aid in boosting our immune system; repairing/healing joints, bones, arteries and connective tissues; balancing blood sugar; and reducing our risk of heart attack and stroke 🙌🏾
Hey Andrew. I've never been the biggest fan of the cooking section of youtube, and although I put a lot of importance in not eating meat in any way (it's been around a year and a half since my only "relapse"), it is very difficult for me to put some proper attention and care in the recipes I follow / prepare. However, in your channel I find very welcoming videos, done in a style that clearly appeals to me, as I am even seriously thinking of trying a few of your recipes, something I have never ever done before. Moreso than cheering you to keep up the good work, I would like to say that you are starting to inspire me in a way I thought nobody would in what comes to cooking and eating, and I bet I am not the only one.
