Pro tip: on the leaf lettuce, take an extra second and make an inch long tear upward from the base of the leaf. Pull the two flaps together so they overlap. Slap the crown on to hold in place. This gives you a very attractive lettuce disc that's even all the way around. I figured that out when I was working at DQ when they used to use leaf lettuce. Makes the burger look more like what you see on the menu or in commercials. I got quite a few compliments about how pretty my Grillburgers looked and it literally takes no time at all to do.

Well technically there is supposed to be a grill operator who is supposed to flip the patties to keep them fresher longer. We also do a 3 stages process so there should always be fresh meat but sometimes it's not always possible depending on how busy we get or short staffed.
McDonald's is worse their meat sits in a warmer for up to 15 minutes. It's almost always never fresh unless you get lucky during a rush where meat is constantly being dropped. Also McDonald's uses frozen patties stored in a freezer. We use a refrigerator to store our patties so their never frozen.

Back in the day the mustard went on top of the meat patty, and a Double only had one slice of cheese, in the middle, the way Dave intended. We also used to press the meat after turns 1 and 2, and we pattied our own meat in every store, every morning. We also paid a lot more attention to draining the meat so that the bottom bun wasn't soaked in grease. Perhaps most importantly of all, we used iceberg lettuce, as Dave intended. No slimy romaine with a big nasty rib in the middle. Wendy's is still the best fast food burger, but it's not the same.
Worked at a Wendy's in Tx once, I worked there for two years it was a franchise not with corporate and it was a horrible experience, they kept moving me due to managers and general managers quitting left and right, this one Wendy's had no AC in the kitchen area for almost 2yrs maybe more than that, and this other Wendy's every once in a while served expired food products every other time or so. I remember this one time a Gm made us use expired small bread for the smallest burgers like the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, some of the bread in packaging had mold and the Gm told us to only serve the ones that didn't have the mold even tho they were next and touching each other in the same packaging, it was horrible and it just made me sick to my stomach and had to leave. I still have photos on my old phone of the mold and all the expired products they made us serve to the customers, it was a disgusting experience working there, also btw no good leadership and everyone was so mean and bullying, the Dms and Gms threatening the employees into serving expired food products with mold to the customers or else loose their jobs, trust me I was one of the employees 🗣️🤢👎
That is not true of all Wendy's. I work for a franchise Wendy's and we NEVER use expired products. I can relate to the AC issue tho. We have a kitchen AC but it barely works so we have to go up to the front counter every so often to get cool air from the dining room.

Back in the late 80s to mid 90s there was a dedicated grill worker, who, put the 4 corner press on the burgers so they ACTUALLY hung over the bun. The grill was watched and anything burnt was discarded. Now you get a burnt up burger, small as hell, no taste and dry as a popcorn fart.

Only two slices of cheese, needs a bit more mayo, but I can see you still need to restock, and three slices of pickles. No mustard unless requested. Had to make that sandwich more than I ever wanted too. Beautifully built though.

Huh weird at the Wendy's I work at we put two slices of cheese instead of three. Only way we would put the cheese on the bun is if it was a single not a double. Great video mate! Love those who show the love for Wendy's

Mayo belongs on the bottom bun. The oil primes your tongue for the savory meat and cheese, plus, the top bun doesn’t need any extra slippage with all the veggies on top of the burger.

Wow I can’t even believe the sandwich maker got his own patty’s! The Wendy’s I worked at the sandwich makers used to complain if you didn’t put the patty on the bun for them.....even tho your doing the burger grill the chicken grill bacon, cookies, baked potatoes, frys, nuggets, spicy chickens, and dishes.

He did it wrong. There's only supposed to be 2 pieces of cheese on a double. There's 2 pieces of cheese on the single as well (on the bottom like he showed).
