Could this be ruining your horse's stops?

  • "To get a better stop, always back your horse up afterward." - That's the faulty advice we're commonly given in order to improve this maneuver. However, we want to talk a little about when and how to back your horse up and work on the stops in a way that gets your horse to WANT to try harder for you instead of dreading the moment you pick up on his face. Backing up after a stop can be a great thing to do, but it can also make your horse quit trying if he feels he can't make you happy.

I learn one bit thing from this video its the movement of the hand and the good timing in the horse respond with his feets.

Great advice. If my horse has anything it is a stop and I really never felt a reason to also back up. My gelding is out of Trashadeous but he only matured to 13.2 hands, perfect for me. I am new to your channel and am going to look through your videos and see if you have anything that can help with speeding up the spin.
