Your teaching method is excellent. No fluff, just get it done. Thank you, sir!

Amazing! I love that you worked with a horse that doesn't have sidepass knowledge as it really shows the learning process. Can't wait to try this method on my own boy!!

I tried this with my 5 year old gelding, got instant results. Worked perfect. Pushing cows a week later it was soooooo nice to have him moving his hip and sidepass in the walk, no slowing down thanks so much.

I’ve been struggling with the side pass. I know it’s me, not the horse. Good visual of how I’m not doing a good job moving my leg to the proper position. I need to go back & work on moving the hip. Thank you.

I am so very amazed by the quickness of the learning experience Im going to have to look up the other things that you show. I am a huge leg cue person and I have been training horses for years and years and when I got my Onyx and I started to train her she picked up on the leg cues quickly. I had a friend of mine tell me that I was going about it wrong that I am supposed to use the right leg for her to go right and vice versa and I told him to think about that I am not going to put pressure on the side of the way I want her to go it makes zero sense so mr i think I know it all.... went on Google and guess what I was 100 percent right oh I was just trying not to gloat to much but I love to show people who are Mr Unobvious how much he doesn't know LMFAO 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thanks for sharing. Do you bump him in the rib/hip or constant pressure?

You said nothing about the reins. I needed that.

Looks like he keeps them pretty neutral and then does some very slight corrections when doing the side pass to keep the horses head straight. That's what i observed anyway lol

    Zach,
Do I need spurs to accomplish this maneuver with my 5 year old? I have not ridden with them.
    Thank you great video!

You don't have to have them, per se, but depending on how motivated your horse is, it sure helps. Spurs should only be used as the last part of the cue, if needed. I always ride with them to keep my horses responsive to the leg by itself.
      👍
