- A collection of my favourite images from the first year with the Mamiya RZ67 film camera. A mix of the following films - Ilford FP4, Ilford HP5, Ilford Delta 100, 400, 3200, Ilford SFX200 and Rollei 400 IR.
Some very memorable and beautiful photographs there. Ansel Adams was once asked how many masterpieces he intended to produce on average, in a year. His reply is something that I always keep in mind. He said that twelve photographs that matter is a good score for any photographer. You have done very very well Tom. Congratulations.
Thanks very much it’s been a wonderful year of photography with some images I’m really happy with. I think one portfolio quality shot a month is an excellent goal, and I would be happy with that.
Many thanks Tom 👍
That moon over the house shot
When we look at this we all know whoever produced this body of work has a good spirit in them
Cheers Tony 🙏
Oh my, what a treat, my favorite is the surfers on the beach. Keep up the great vlogs.

I agree. Tom, are these for this format only? or do you have another presentation project to share this work in another format?
Cornwall is beautiful. Looking at your photos, I thought about "Moonfleet" book, John Meade Falkner.

This is a beautiful collection of B&W images and you can be proud of your work. My photographic season is coming to an end this year. My last rolls of film where FOMAPAN 100, 200 and 400 which I like a lot. I will post a selection on instagram soon.
Thanks very much Helgi, I keep meaning to try Fomapan I’ve heard great things about it. I look forward to too see your images soon. I imagine daylight hours are very scarce where you are. Winter is definitely coming.
All the best Tom 🙏
Hi Tom just found your channel while watching Paul Smith , totally inspiring, thank you 👌
Thanks very much Gary 🙏
Amazing work Tom.
Thank you 👍
Just beautiful. Could you tell us what lens/lenses you used? Thanks, and again, just beautiful!
Hi Stephen thanks very much the three lenses I use are… 50 mm F4.5, 110 mm F 2.8 and the 250 mm F4.5. I do own the 180mm F 4.5 but never use it as the lenses are very heavy.
Many thanks Tom 👍
Ditto to all positive comments 🤣📷👍
Thank you 👍
Now viewers know why the French word for "flair, style"- elan- can be found in Whelan. And no, I am not related to TW. These are photos from someone who clearly knows and loves the place intimately. They are similar to the Irish photographer Ivan McMahon- high praise indeed.
Thanks for your kind words, it’s really appreciated 🙏
Some dramatic shots in this compilation Tom. Do you still use the old dodge & burn techniques in the darkroom?
Thanks mate, my darkroom is currently out of action but I’m hoping to get it back up and running soon. My son decided he was going to pretty much move in to the shed where it used to be 😅
@@tomwhelan Doh! 😆
So you’re selling it then! 😂
Haha I think I will hold onto it for a bit 👍
