- A day of film photography with my Mamiya RZ67 and some Ilford film. A sunrise at Sennen Cove and a Moonrise in the evening. A really beautiful day in West Cornwall.
Don,t you just love it when a plan comes together well done Tom
One of those times when planning really pays off, you must be delighted with those images!
Yes I’m really happy thanks Rupert. The moonrise shots came really well.
Many thanks Tom 🙏
Very inspiring, glad you nailed that moon ❤❤❤
another awesome video and those images are fantastic!
Cheers Sebastian I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Lovely Stuff!
Thanks Rob 🙏
Brilliant Tom. I was down at Sennen on Sunday morning. Never thought about going there for sunrise usually there for sunset. Love the moon over Escalls Chapel. See you got a mention from New Zealand. Well done.
Thanks very much Peter I had a great day, yes surprisingly Sennen can be a great morning location even though it’s on the West coast. I love Paul’s channel and was really surprised to see myself on there when I watched his latest video.
Many thanks Tom 🙏
Wonderful images and I love your positivity.
Thank you 🙏
Looked like a wonderful day. Awesome video, really enjoyed this one
Thanks Graeme it was such a lovely day 🙏
@@tomwhelan I'm down that way at the end of the month so I'm hoping for a day like it too
@@GraemeSimpsonPhotography fingers crossed mate or if you really lucky you catch a storm 👍
I really enjoy your videos. So nice to just watch a great photographer out making pictures without much fuss about the camera or the film. Very inspirational photos. Thank you.
Thanks very much Thomas I really appreciate your feedback.
Thank you 🙏
@@tomwhelan what cameras can you use for this film
Great locations and excellent photos
Thanks very much Geoff 👍
Great video
Thank you 🙏
So so glad to see someone else enjoying photographing my favourite part of cornwall!
Thanks Thomas 👍
The first few moonrise images were lovely. Using the red filter was perfect to give that nice contrast.
Thanks Wendy I’m really happy with them 👍
I love black and white photography. It seems so simple but it's very complex. Wonderful photos and a great video! Just subscribed!
Cheers Jake it’s such a lovely medium to work with black and white film… I absolutely love it.
All the best Tom 👍
Those moonrise shots around 13.11 were AMAZING!! Loved this video. That ilford has a beautiful grain. The red filter made a massive difference too!!
You keep taking it to the next level, Tom!
Wow thanks Pete so happy you enjoyed it mate. I love Delta 3200 I’m looking forward to winter and shooting it a lot more.
All the best Tom 🙏
Excellent job on both locations. Amazing how the inclusion of even a single human changes the whole image. And I especially liked the moon images with a partial cloud over it. Gave it some extra depth, I think.
Thanks Alfred it was a fantastic day with great conditions. I’m really happy with the results, I think your right the cloud does give it the extra depth.
Many thanks Tom 👍
Tom those moonrise shots are gorgeous 👏
Thank you I’m really pleased how they came out. Delta 3200 is such a beautiful looking film.
Many thanks Tom 👍
Wow those moonrise photos are absolutely stunning. I'd buy a print of the one at 13:06 any day.
Thank you very much, it’s really appreciated 🙏
👍
Awesome video man! Really enjoyed that one 👌
That’s great, thanks very much 🙏
A pleasure to watch your video. Nice photos. Beautiful locations. Your voice sounds very good. What mic do you use?
Thanks very much Davide, I didn’t realise how difficult it was going to be get good audio it’s an area I’ve been struggling with. I’m using a Rode wireless go with a lav mic.
Many thanks Tom 👍
Really beautiful photographs. Subtle and appropriate tonality, and great composition. How I wish I had access to such grand places?
Thanks so much, I’m so grateful I live in such a beautiful place and get the opportunity to photograph it.
Many thanks Tom 🙏
The Chapel of St. Dennis Wilson
Very nice, thanks! I was wondering how you metered the moonrise photos?
Thanks Tom I metered from the front of the church which was quite bright , i wanted to protect the highlights as much as possible. I wasn’t to bothered about losing the shadow detail.
Great photos especially the ones at 13:18 and 2:45 and 7:38
Shame about the surfboard crucifix on the church though. Looks more like a surfboard than a crucifix and so looks more `planted in this life' than `ethereal,' in keeping with the heavenly body of the moon feel. Just me, I know.
Thanks Tony I’m glad you liked the images - the people in this area regard surfing as a religion hence the cross. A real cross would fit the images better though I agree.
Many thanks Tom 🙏
@@tomwhelan lol, yes down here in Melbourne Australia our religion is Australian rules football, i.e. real football, don't bite Tom, don't bite...Love your work
@@tonyhayes9827 🤣🤣
I remember watching a game of Aussie rules football when I was in Brisbane years ago. I absolutely loved it much more exciting than normal football 👍
@@tomwhelan 👍
Man, you had only 2 or 3 photos from the beach in the morning. all other photos are garbage... I'm sorry, but... :)
You almost had one photo with a moon, but...
You have more to practice, quite more. To have a b/W film doesn't makes you a photographer. ;)
Hi Petar thanks for the feedback it’s all appreciated, good and bad. I’m sorry you feel this way.
Many thanks Tom
Great video
