Running a household, raising kids, and all the “not-so-fun” aspects of life, on top of running a very thoughtfully produced, successful RUclips channel… we’re the lucky recipients of this content. There aren’t many of us here that can truly understand what it takes to make it work. Thanks for all you do!

I totally agree. While the children are still so young it must be difficult to plan around their needs and then go on camera looking chirpy and cheerful, plus the physical work gardening entails. I really appreciate all the wonderful content Laura and Aaron produce. They are truly inspirational 🌺

I don't care for the crafty stuff but I do prefer the gardening that we can relate to and learn from rather than the industrial sized projects that I personally cannot relate to at all. I enjoy their videos when they are about actual gardening. I am not into big machines and my gardening budget is nowhere near theirs. They also do not function as my pseudo family as I see from the comments that they do for many others; something I would personally find quite creepy if I were Laura or Aaron.

Regarding infrastructure -- I totally agree! My husband and I installed a water line to the back of our yard to our garden last year. We also installed drip irrigation in the garden. It was a big job, but we had the time to do it since we are retired, and we felt we knew what we were doing after watching your channel. After it was done, we were amazed at the difference in the ease of gardening and wondered why we hadn't considered it sooner. One of the biggest issues was lack of knowledge and confidence. After watching your channel, we realized what it could be, and decided it was worth it to try. We did all of the work ourselves and I'm very proud of what we've accomplished. 😀😀

We did a full on 🛑 on our gardening, when we started to notice our 1.5 acre lot, that has an extreme slope, was completely beating us up. Up and down the hill several times a day. Dragging 200’ of hose and pushing the wheelbarrow all got to be too much. A couple years ago we analyzed that we either had to move or get serious about having things to ease the load and save us valuable time. Gator ✔️. Drip irrigation ✔️. Power Planter ✔️. This year it’s going to be a Hose Link. So thank you from Canada, for sharing these items to make gardening enjoyable again.

I know you’ve said it before but today’s comment something like “ if you don’t love it get rid of it” , said so matter of fact, really helped me today. Probably 20 years ago I planted my first tree, a seven son flower...it’s my “not into gardening” husbands favorite tree in our backyard... the peeling bark, it’s structure, the white blooms, red accents later. But for 3 years it doesn’t look as healthy and actually 1/4 of it, a trunk , fell into our neighbors yard with a windstorm a month ago. I took a chainsaw, at 64 years of age lol, and cut down that part of the trunk. I’ve struggled to cut down the tree overall the last 3 years, it’s also a good screen for the neighbors. Then I saw Temple of bloom seven son flower and had hunted for it for 2 years...at least! Finally got a small one with no place to put ..unless...I pull the trigger. So I am going to pull the trigger this year, getting quotes to take down the original tree ! Thanks for reminding us that there is joy in gardening, and if something doesn’t float your boat to move on!

Live is Zone 9, I leave my cannas in the ground over the winter, no problem! Just cut back late fall and cover with mulch, they will come up in the spring when they are ready! Good luck!

You are so lucky to have lavender. Zone 3 here; can’t overwinter it. It’s the only plant I really really mourn over not being able to grow.

Years ago, before we could pour a cement walkway and add our garden shed, we had a French drain installed that went from our backyard to the street. It's one of those things you spend money on that you don't really see. Looking back, it was one of the best things we ever did. The infrastructure you're doing right now is so smart. We all enjoy watching the process. Thank you for filming it! :)

Until yesterday, I’ve only ever tackled plants and projects I’m familiar with in my vegetable garden based on videos I’ve watched on RUclips, primarily Garden Answer projects like growing tomatoes and calendula from seed and dealing with aphids, establishing raised beds-that sort of thing, but I’ve learned so much from Garden Answer over the past few years, that I decided to try something entirely new to me this season. Yesterday, I inoculated my first wine cap mushroom beds. 😁 I was a little nervous about getting it right since we opted to do ours in container beds rather than at ground level, but it wasn’t so different from other projects I’ve done in my little garden the past few years.
Just wanted to say thanks for building up my confidence to the point that I’ve started tackling projects and crops I’ve never seen before. Not sure I’d have gotten to this point without Garden Answer. 🌻

Aaron is so right. We were in such a hurry to make our garden pretty, that we didn't start with infrastructure. Then when we did get around to digging trenches, we had to work around established plants. Start with infrastructure!

I think I can clarify what Teresa was implying, maybe . Having grown up in a greenhouse environment we seeded in rows in trays or even just scattered thickly in a tray with a vermiculite mix then put them in a heated shelving unit to germinate, once germination they were moved to a growing area that had consistent warm temperature . Then transplanted into four pack or containers ready to sell . Consistent temperatures helped everything grow evenly. Also important was a circulating fan .

I love the advice that if you don’t love something, get rid of it! I have several daylillies that I used as filler in a couple of areas and have never loved them. This year I’m going to put something else in their place. You guys are so inspiring, love your channel and the inspirational and informational comfy chats. Hugs & Blessings!

Been watching since day 1 when you two were in your townhouse. Always have loved your channel. It brings me peace and relaxation in my life. I very rarely comment but on this topic I felt it necessary. The commentary was on RUclips. It's clear to me that the reason RUclips doesn't care as much as other platforms because they allow their users to make money! It seems they take the stance that they believe it's the responsibility of the person having the channel to monitor their channel within the algorithm. There are very specific guidelines set forth unlike other platforms. I don't think that RUclips should be to blame.

I love how Laura mentioned " like a gas fireplace " and Aaron kept right on talking almost like " I will pretend I didn't hear that". Looking forward to seeing the floor in the Hartley. I actually paused the trench video to see if I could sneak a peak!
