Yeah, obsessing over self improvement can be a trap in that way, or like getting prideful & egotistical thinking you're superior to all other human beings for your self improvement can also be very toxic & unhealthy to the mind & spirit, lead you to the path to the devil instead of seeing it as a wholesome positive thing & just a way you can be a better human being to everyone you're connected to in life, parents, friends, kids, loved ones, community etc etc.
I think this video will help a ton of younger guys that always feel they fail their new years resolutions.

It's paying really good last few months and in December I had 12000$ profit. Consistency and hard work (with a bit of winnerzila of course, their products are key to success) will always pay off at the end. I have never been happier in my life, and it really helps for my general health and confidence.

There is a thing called mental load, a lot of people today have a low mental load limit. If you will overwork without preparing, you will get consequences. Depression and burnout are one of these.

    • @Zackarius
      @Zackarius 7 месяцев назад +7

I find the exact opposite for me to be true. Having too many commitments causes so much mental stress that it turns into overwhelm.
Cutting back, taking it easy, focusing on the few things that matter, enjoying life more, and trying to be happy in the moment, are what lead me to better results!

I think this works for some people, but is certainly not a one size fits all thing. I think a better way to think about it is to physically remove distractions instead of adding responsibilities. For example, I just sold my computer because I was spending too much time on it. Now, I don't spend as much time on social media, and I've naturally filled that time with more productive habits. This is just something that works for me, but I recommend you guys to try this out.

Ever since I started consuming Hamza's content I've started to feel more inspired to get my shit together. Since at the time of writing this, Christmas holidays have ended and I'm back in school again. Unlike other times, I don't hate it. School work is the only purposeful/productive thing I can do right now. I've stopped consuming random bullshit content that has been rotting my brain for years and instead started watching scienceful and rather philosophical videos from RUclips. I've cut down the amount I spent on video games drastically. Since all of this I've started to feel better and better and my urge to self pleasure has also gone down drastically. Thank you Hamza for saving my life.

Asak Ishaan, don't have this change the past or wanting to start earlier mindset, your age is perfect for self improvement, you're ready for it, its all up from here. Think of your time in the past as a preparation for this moment. At your older age you have this great experience of knowing what it's like to miss out and waste time, now u have a greater perspective as to how to spend ur time productively. I was at your age when i wanted to start but messed up, and had a cycle of wishing to do things and wanting to change my past, trust me, if u just forget and focus on the present, it'll repay itself forever. Lose your feelings of regret and embrace a thankful and learning oriented mindset, not everyone's life is perfect and we have things that just don't go our way, you're at a better spot then me bro, u can do it. Time spent in regret and not in the present is time wasted.

I was in a rut before Christmas, Self-improvement suddenly felt like a full time job. It got boring and I hated the routine I held for the past 3 months. Over Christmas I visited my parents and purposely took a week off. I stopped ALL my self improvement habits except for one day where I hit the gym with my dad. I removed all the app timers on social media and lived like a Jeffrey.
Now I actually WANTED to get back into self improvement now that I am at home. Today felt so fucking awesome.
Today I meditated, hit the gym (hit 3 PRs), learned maths for my exam, journaled and I didn't use my phone for the whole day except watching this video (on grayscale)
If SI is too hard take a set amount off. But don't cope and do it every other week (even though that would be more than not doing the good habits at all)

In James Clear's 3-2-1 newsletter, he shared a quote that fits the context of this video.
He said: “Life is a series of seasons, and what works in one season may not work in the next.
What season are you in right now? What habits does that season require?”
What has worked before may not always work, so what can you do to make things work right now?
Personally, in summer, I used to wake up early to watch the sunrise and meditate while the sun hits my closed eyelids.
In the winter, I don't have that luxury, so I meditate when I wake up and I get to see the sun hours later and I make it a mission to, no matter how cold it is, go walk outside.
That's how I deal with the change of my seasons.

It’s all about the compounding effect.
Like imagine eating a donut every single day. After 1 year, you will gain some weight, right?
Now imagine going to the gym 3 or 4 days/week instead. After 1 year, you will gain muscle.
These little things that we do, they all add up. Even if we go off track sometimes, at the end of the day, what really matters is that we make PROGRESS. What matters is that we were overall better than last year. So keep going bro!!

I love what he said: "If you are in a rut, you've set the bar to entry too high." That's what really got me out of my rut. Just doing something, anything, is better than nothing. I used to want to go to the gym an hour a day, but it was too much for me at my level. So I decided I was gonna do a little basic calisthenics, just 10 minutes, every day. From there, I got so much more consistent. I just had to remove the excuse of not being perfect.

This is such a great topic for the 1st day of the new year. I definitely see myself when you talk about people setting the bar too high so they end up doing nothing. I think the biggest goal for me this year is losing the ago and having the ability to do the simplified version of the habits that I want to create.

Hamza, I can’t stop stressing out about everything. I hate myself so much since I feel like I’m not good at anything. I’m 16 yrs old and have been going to the gym, journalling and eating clean for a yr plus now. These days I’m trying to learn and pickup new skills. Despite this I feel mentally blocked from doing so, I’m so stressed and suicidal from just these thoughts and i don’t get why. A large part of my self image has been destroyed in the past 4 years due to a failed suicide attempt in 2020. My school didn’t let me join many things such as football and camps. I really blamed myself for all those 4 years and just when I started to make some progress in some aspects. I feel this daunting realization that all my troubles could start again when I begin my new school this year.

@@vedantbhardwaj8049 seems like you have the answers yourself bro. Ive been in this situation and the solution is to do exactly what you dont want to do: solve your problems. Fix your attitude. You say you "have a tough time making friends" due to your "negative attitude towards things". You just stated the solution. Correct your negative attitude. You do that by optimizing your mental health. How? Hamza helps you take your first steps with a multi hour mental health guide. Not to mention he has one specifically for high school.
You feel like you're not good at anything. Well are you? If not, get good at something. Find a passion or hobby to pursue.
The only way to get out of a depressive phase is to avoid all that comforts you. If what you're doing right now isnt actively making you feel better, then why are you doing it. If you want to get out, wouldnt you do the hard things that DO make you better? Yes you would. Thats the only way to get out. I know by firsthand experience.
Judge yourself by your actions, not your thoughts.
Although it may be motivating thinking of all the good things you're going to do, its truly a miserable experience climbing up from the true bottom. Its not a badass montage or cut scene. Its crying yourself to sleep because you couldnt meditate for a week, or because (in my case) you couldnt do 5 pushups. Or even one. Its feeling truly hopeless every day and still going because theres no other way to get out. Even though it feels like you wont get out ever.
May i recommend a podcast from Modern Wisdom featuring Dr. Jordan peterson. Truly a great listen.
Hope this helps a bit G. Dont give up.

      @vedantbhardwaj8049 7 месяцев назад

I do have the answers in a way. my confidence is just killed and I’m building that up right now by pushing myself and improving my mental health. So I’m screen time usage in general as much as possible. Purely using it for hamzas long educational vids so I can learn more things about mental health like the Dos and Donts, and podcasts from Andrew huberman here and there. That’s what I’ll do, yes I’ll do what I don’t want to do and I’ll fix my attitude through working on my mental health and actively trying to be more positive. that’s really helpful advice though I knew it, just being confronted about it made me more aware to it.
Currently I’ll grind football, gym and guitar. I really want to make it into my new schools football team. These school extra activities really bother me and just thinking about it can put me into a full scale panic attack. So I need to grind football and hopefully I make it. Even if I don’t, I’ll improve my mental health from just being outside more and socializing with the people I play. Well yesterday I spent an hour meditating, an hour journalling, 1.5 hrs in the gym and 30 mins playing guitar. It did make me feel better, I just need to continually push myself and trust the process I guess.
I agree this journey from what seems to be as low as one possibly could go ( tho gratitude journalling and improving my mental health over time will make my outlook more positive for sure). It currently seems that way. Unfortunately It seems that the crying oneself to sleep is a common theme, I hope you push yourself and achieve all that you would like to. never feel alone, there are millions of us who have started from nothing with the worst mental and physical health to achieve great things like hamza.
We both can and will do it
This isn’t some bullshit motivational talk no action thing, all these words are meaningless without our long term consistent effort

This is the only self improvement video anyone has to watch. The key is understanding that the brain learns with experience, and there are no magicall words that will make you do the things you want to do. You must try and, most definetely, fail. You have a huge ego if you think you cannot fail.

Hamza, I recently discovered that biphasic sleep cycles are natural for human beings and before about 300 years ago, it was normal. Biphasic sleep is when someone goes to sleep, then wakes up for a few hours, and goes back to sleep. This may be why some people wake up in the middle of the night and struggle to go back to sleep. *I suspect that this time in the middle of the 2 blocks of sleep can be used for an unimaginable period of pure focus*. This was confirmed by research I did.

    Hey Hamza Ahmed
    I am your biggest fan
Been watching since I was 15 years old
    I'm 18 years old now
At 17 I had gained progress but due to people thinking I'm crazy for trying to start a business in school I got carried to a psychiatric hospital and my life got ruined from there
All I've come to realize today is
    Society fucked
Everything you say and preach on being masculine is the way
If a man is not masculine he will fail
    He's failure will be horrible
I just want to say thank you for being a light
    For being truthful and genuine
God bless you Hamza Ahmed ❤️

Aim Low - Choose something that you could do, that you would do and then slowly progressively overload from there. Something Jordan Peterson preaches often. I myself have struggled with being overly hard on myself for missing days, weeks and months of being consistent on habits. Learning to keep your focus on what you have achieved already and showing yourself some self compassion can go a long way. Great Video Hamza🔥
