I like tone on this show. He seems passionate and has a good analysis on the movies & I liked his question about which three shows are most authentic to Inglewood. There is nothing wrong with taking pride in where you come from or the culture of those specific places. There was a real heavy focus on the guest and his personal struggle with identity issues.
This was literally my favorite movie back in high school. It came out the summer going into my junior year! Literally seen this movie twice in one night and again the next day on a date 😂 it was ahead of its time and I appreciate you guys giving it its flowers 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@marckristian81i thought that initially but I think having a dynamic list instead of just expected classics every week would bring in different groups of people.
I loved this movie…. I feel like it was a next gen Wood…. The Wood focused on the friendship, Dope focused on the street…. Not in a way of the hood but how the good kids can get caught up.
Jahh as I’m thinking about the conversation y’all are having…. You had a Malcolm moment yourself. When y’all did The Last Dragon, you talked about how you use to be the Karate kid and the hood made you “grow up out of that” in a sense. It all goes together to me.
Great film! I absolutely loved "Dope" 4 Fists for sure...As an Inglewood native, it was really cool to see these characters maneuvering through the city. Super dope to get a Stacy cameo as well lol. Fantastic breakdown of the film my guys! Now on to the next...I'm rubbing my hands like Birdman anticipating next week's episode.
Big Jah I feel you on wanting a west coast dude to play ASAP's part. We just reviewed the new House Party and we had the same critique for the two mains not being Cali guys. Not bad actors but why not cast Cali actors for Cali characters?
Vine was what it was for what it was and I’m almost glad they ain’t ever bring it back. It was creative and fun and really showcased raw, gritty talent and the real ones weren’t trying to hard. Like y’all spoke on it was people doing what they loved and it was original flow DOPE…. pun intended. Big ups to y’all and ya aready know I love yous!
Exactly! I don’t agree with this comment from them. Because you got ole boy from Snowfall acting on Power Raising Kanan, playing an East Coast 80s/90’s drug dealer. And he’s a west coast dude. I just care that the person can act and is believable.
Y’all seriously trippin about A$Ap Rocky playing a west coast dude from Inglewood when the movie “The Wood” which y’all did on this podcast starred Omar Epps a dude straight outta New York!?! Cmon y’all can’t be serious. We all black don’t matter where we come from. I’m happy to see our people on the screen no matter what region they come from
I love this movie because i can relate to Malcolm & i love how Rick Famuyima brought DeAndre Bonds back. Can we please get reviews on the following coming of age movies: Cooley High Boyz N The Hood Roll Bounce ATL
Then kap g if u ever met a gangster of his race his race that seen was pretty legit and then the whole punch scene its like u can tell that he could tell malcom wasnt really a street dude and in his mind he probably like i can take a punch i aint no bitch so lemmie test this lil nigga right quick and see if he got enough heart to do what he came to do cause on some solid shit if malcom didn’t have the heart he almost woulda been settin him up for failure because malcom probably woulda fumbled the bag and end up gettin kilt or robbed or some
Yeah that scene is pretty much what you said. He tested him to see if he was willing to do what he needed to do and to check he wasnt no shrimp lol even though he was he respected him and went through with the deal instead of robbing him
I like your review…But, you guys missed a lot. Band camp is how they met the white boy so they’re musicians(Dr. Dre, Ferrel). The house party at USC…the world being exposed to them just from the backpack. Zoe Kravits is the ditch girl who didn’t have enough credits to graduate. The bootleg guy is a part of more underworld experience. The conversation with the Director of the Boys Club and the word play….and you didn’t even mention the soundtrack…which killed it…
Can't wait! Dope the spiritual sequel to The Wood!

Tone is great

Y’all gotta Do “Life” , “Prison Song”, “state property”
Facts. I feel like they're jumping the gun with this one. What is the criteria for yall?
@@marckristian81i thought that initially but I think having a dynamic list instead of just expected classics every week would bring in different groups of people.
Ready for a ATL review.
Quincy was dope. Especially the scene in Fat burger

Ima give this 3.5✊🏾I had it at a 3….. But I put it to a 3.5 for it to include Stacey! Lol this was a great movie!
Yall gotta do Low down Dirty Shame, Friday all of em, All about the Benjamin's, Bad Boys
The drug was molly not coke so thats probably why it seemed like lily was over actin and she did a whole lot so her reaction was pretty realistic

They did Dope this week, they should do “Kicks”, in the weeks to follow.
It's time to review Friday and also Do The Right Thing
Idk who picking these movies lol but dropped the ball on this one it's a good movie but it's not a classic

Y’all should do “Roll Bounce” 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for getting back to the good movies
Lets get it 💯💯💯
Asap rocky’s character made sense because he could of just been a New York dude that moved to cali and set up shop.

BOYZ......IN........THE.......HOOD NEXT PLEASE
Man, I don't care who you are!! Black people love some Dragon Ball Z!! Back ground doesn't matter!!
The 5 heartbeats. 3 strikes. And should long kiss goodnight be a blackbuster
Those are great voices but unfortunately I don't think long kiss goodnight a black movie
Yea one black man don't make it a black movie. Even if it is Samuel the Jackson
@@SuperSwiftly lol “The” 💪🏾

Yo! We all hood, just not participants to the bull shit!
I was Malcolm but had to hide it. Got made fun of for skateboarding. I liked rock and played guitar. It was a struggle to be me
Dooope! Love this show.
I love this movie because i can relate to Malcolm & i love how Rick Famuyima brought DeAndre Bonds back. Can we please get reviews on the following coming of age movies:
Cooley High

I'm very surprised no one mentions E looking like diggy
Y’all should do Barbershop 1 or 2
Then kap g if u ever met a gangster of his race his race that seen was pretty legit and then the whole punch scene its like u can tell that he could tell malcom wasnt really a street dude and in his mind he probably like i can take a punch i aint no bitch so lemmie test this lil nigga right quick and see if he got enough heart to do what he came to do cause on some solid shit if malcom didn’t have the heart he almost woulda been settin him up for failure because malcom probably woulda fumbled the bag and end up gettin kilt or robbed or some
