This stuff works like magic i have a 06 honda accord with 113k miles bought it used with 99k had it since april 2019 ive noticed my shifts were starting to feel rough and kinda jerky now that i added 10 oz of lubegard i didnt change the fluid cuz dnt know when it was changed last but i took some fluid out and added this stuff noticed a huge improvement my 06 honda accord now shifts like a dream cant even feel it shift i gotta look at the tach. To really know that its shifting but man i really hope this stuff extends the life of my AT. on my 06 honda acccord minus the AT. Hondas last forever same wit toyotas
Quick tip for Honda trans fluid change. Leave the car on level ground, do not jack it up and drain the coolant that way, in your owners manual it tells you EXACTLY how much you should lose and how much to pour in. In my 97 accord it will lose right at 2.5 quarts, and I add ONLY 2.5 quarts. It’s perfect on the dot everytime. Haven’t tried lubeguard though, how’s it working for you?
Ive been using the yellow bottle for cvt in my 2019 civic coupe ex-t. I also use castrol cvt fluid. Been using castrol since 22,000 miles when I did a 3x drain and fill. I also do a drain and fill once a year or more. I just did the small cartridge filter. About to do the filter in the pan, with a new gasket obviously. My transmission is fine, no issues ever. I just add the lubegard for added protection.
I used this, with the lubegard shutter fix. Also I used the platinum version of this too. Steps I did. I used lubegard transmission flush and followed directions, then I changed my fluid. Added this product in the video drove for a few days liked the results, read about the Platinum version and the shutter fix, I pumped some out and added the Platinum version of this product shutter fix and motorkote hyper lube. I ha e had great results in my 2000 Honda prelude.
@@js6729 it helped a lot but don't expect to get long life with hard driving. My clutches are gone now since I have a lead foot. I'd suggest driving it like a granny and saving up for a replacement or rebuild.
Is there any danger in using this additive to a rebuilt transmission with about 20,000 miles on it? I just had a full flush & fill of Valvoline Maxlife full synthetic transmission fluid, but I want to make it run as good as possible and last as long as possible. Thanks PS I used the lubeguard for engine oil on my last oil change, WOW! what a difference!!
Sure hope that works for you. My last two Chevy vans the transmission went bad at 70 thousand and 100,000 and one of the engines as well. Honda and Toyota are the best. I think its great that Honda has that transmission drain plug. So much nicer. Keep us posted please.
I ordered Lubegard Platinum. I have hard shifting between 1-2 gears on my 2005 Pilot. It is at 270K miles. My best guess is that the clutch packs are showing their age in 1-2 gears and causing the hard shifting. Gears 3-5 are smooth at any speed. I've owned it since 137K Miles back in 2015. My parents owned it originally. My father did not always maintain it. I did a 3x drain and fill when I took ownership. Since then I've always replaced the fluid every 15K and used Lubegard ATF Supplement (Black) bottle. I haven't the last two services and feel the difference not using the Lubegard products. For ATF, I've used Valvoline MaxLife, Valvoline Extended Performance ATF, Castrol Transmax Synthetic ATF/CVT fluid, Pennzoil Platinum LV Synthetic Multi-Vehicle ATF, and Amzoil. Just depends what was on sale. I've had great results with these and the Lubegard additive. But overtime, reading on forums, this transmission would benefit from a non LV type fluid. So I went with Valvoline Multi-Import Full Synthetic. It has a higher cST than MaxLife. Just replaced it yesterday. I couldn't find a parts store that carried Lubegard Platinum, so I ordered on Amazon.
Had any good success with that Castrol Import ATF in the Honda? I just replaced 5 quarts in my car (two drains and fills) with the same stuff a few days back. Not put many miles on it since than to get a good feel but everything I've read said Hondas are extremely picky about ATF due to them not being a traditional automatic transmission. Just wondering what your experience was in the long run.
My Passat has shifting issues like that occasionally. With those it is normally from a sticking solenoid. Your problem might be something different. I do find that a little unnerving when I get hard downshifts like that. I have had that happen with other cars that were not Honda or Volkswagen and you know when it happens because it is unusual.
@@hanksgarage_ That is what I thought. I read or heard something like that about the Honda Odysseys other than them having had transmission problems at one point.
Internal trans filter 😫 main issues with honda are shift solenoids overdrive solenoid all the metal screens get clogged with clutch material no fluid will fix these the right way oem honda fluid is best I used transmax and it works but noticed the trans gets hotter than it did I only would recommend leaving half old and half new if you trans is really bad that clutch material floating around is the only thing keeping it driving 😀 take the add clutch plate grip out and its fried have a good day .by the way theres tons of solenoids and screens to clean along with dont forget to use new pressure sensors aswell if you really want to fix a poorly shifting trans
If I had any anomaly on my gear box I would have done a 3 x drain and fill. That way you replace the old fluid almost entirely. On the last fill put Lubegard. Change the external filter if it had one.
@@andrewex1973 yeah go to the dealer and get oem trans fluid. I put Castrol transmax and it didn't last long before the transmission blew on my 2004 Honda odyssey.
@@eddiejr3934 "I put --- and it didn't last long before the transmission blew on my 2004 Honda odyssey." I've heard this same thing about OEM fluid. Just change the fluid before it gets too far gone, no matter what, if you wait too long to change the fluid, then any fluid changed in a bad trans is gonna start showing it's problems. Maxlife, Honda OEM, and castrol transmax are all good fluids though. But do know that the OEM fluid breaks down super quick, apparently OEM is better than maxlife or transmax fresh, but after 15k miles it's actually worse than transmax or maxlife, this is going off used oil analysis of all of the fluids. Fluid changes will not harm a good transmission, fluid changes on a bad transmission will reveal the problems it was going to have in a few miles sooner.
What’s up Hank. Also, not sure if you’ve ever used motorkote but I run this in most my vehicles now over lucas. Check it out if you get a chance bc it’s a friction reducer not just an additive and plus you can run it in your differentials, trannys, and crankcase... i also run royal purple oil and add 2oz motorkote per quart of oil... nice video man...👍👍👍 project farm did an excellent video with motorkote and how it held up to his certain expectations...

Hank's Garage it’s been changed about every 50k. There was one time I know it went further than it should of. Last time it was changed was in 2017. Perhaps it could use a service. Its been maybe 30k miles. And the fluid does look darker . But is still semi transparent.
Just changed the fluid Valvoline synthetic atf and 1 bottle of Lucus drives much better. Will need to drive 200-300 miles And maybe change again. I reset the check engine light code . And hopefully it will not come back. It was code p0744 It drives and shifts a lot better.
4K miles later fluid was black already. So I decided to change it again, this time I got it on video. It’s a lot better . Your video initially got me thinking about changing the ATF on then car. I thought about using Lubguard but ended up with LUCUS as it was a last resort. ruclips.net/video/aRZva2DyLuA/видео.html For a transmission flush I read the Honda procedure is to change drain-fill-drive 3 times. So I am applying that method to a Nissan. So far have done 2 drain-drive-fill. In a month or so will be changing atf on a Honda Odyssey. 200k miles. It isn’t having issues just service item. I plan I’m using Valvoline max life synthetic ATF ( compatible with the Honda fluid)
gave seafoam trans tune a try and that has helped alot clean up things stuck (solenoids and or valves) going to drive it for 1,000 miles then do another drain and fill. but this time only use Valvoline max-life synthetic ATF to see how it is after the clean out. then I might add additional additive depending on how it is shifting the trans Tune looks like it is cleaning up stuck solenoides and /or valves ruclips.net/video/t0_xgIJYu2s/видео.html its shifting a lot better now. ATF fluid still has Lucus in it. you can add both at the same time as verified with Seafoam website.
