The frat brothers are a few weeks from graduating. Mizzou doesn't want any bad PR. They've been told not talk to save face for the university. "It makes them look bad" this breaks my heart. They need to speak up and tell the truth

Fraternity…… I never went to college. I rode bikes not in a club but just a bunch of good friends. Harleys. When my son got up there he rode, but Crotch Rockets. He had a group of riding buddies, not a club just a bunch of guys. He got killed just 8 days shy of his 25 birthday. It was brutal on his mother and myself. Still is, but I will say those group of friends was unbelievable. They were there for him and for us 100%. One even came to the funeral and rode in the the procession, on his first day of a new job. It meant the world to my wife and I. They still call and text on Mothers Day and Fathers Day, some of our hardest days. Those boys should have done better. Accidents happen, it’s life. The real heroes are in it for the long haul. I’m just an Ol working guy so was my son and his friends. They had and still have honor. I’m very proud of them and my son. Hopefully those boys will step up, find that honor and help that family get through this.

I believe that on of his Frat boys laced Riley's drink. I definitely wouldn't go to a party the next night ( the formal) i would be searching for Reilly! Something doesn't add up. I'm so sad for his entire family, especially his Mom, since they were extremely close. As a mom and very close to my son and only child I wouldn't stop looking for answers. I'm thinking about everyone in Reily's family. Sending love ❤️ and big tight hugs to his Mom and entire family.
They do have a history of pulling some pretty outrageous stunts. Probably thought it was funny, and that they'd all laugh about it later.

That frat group should reveal everything and hug this poor family!! It’s absolutely shameful they chose to hide. I hope everyone learns from this and makes some safety rules. It’s a tragedy made worse by them distancing themselves from it. I understand Riley was a grown man but he was WITH a group.

What is so sad about this situation is that it happens more often. So-called “friends” who can’t be bothered to look out for each other or to intervene when they see another being beaten. Recently a group of kids stood by and filmed while a school bully repeatedly slammed a girl’s head into the sidewalk. They simply don’t care enough about others.

Bc of context. I would put all my eggs on this being him answering how this particular drink(that he's never tried before)didn't taste how he'd expected. His family is going to far. I get the media support and the financial donations but they are leading everyone to blame EVERYTHING. He chose to get hammered in the hotel rooms prior to bar hopping and died, just like the countless other spring breakers at the same time.

The fact that they lawyered up and won't talk is a huge red flag that they have some involvement in what went down with Riley. Nothing screams guilt louder than getting an attorney before anyone has even accused you of anything.

They did.. he said"I'm walking to the hotel" after he chose to take off running after getting kicked out of the bar and his friend walked him out and told him to wait. Leave them alone, they have all been interrogated.
With alcohol available for purchase to carry home, there should be no bars in America anymore. End bars period. We are not in the pioneer days anymore. We have every food and drink at our fingertips. Close all bars. 👍

I don’t understand how they can call each other fraternity brothers. My daughter was in a sorority and they never left their friends side and have such a strong friendship bond now that will carry them through life together and enable them to continue making deeper connections with friends in the future. Isn’t that why they call them “brothers” and “sisters” I feel this families grief everytime I listen to another story of this.

And then after that whoever it was jumped him robbed him and possibly killed him I think the debit card fell out when that person was robbing him. Strong suspection that one or more of the fraternity "brothers" laced him.
My mother's intuition tells me they put something in his drink and an attorney must have told them not to talk to anyone about what happened.
I can't blame them. It's devastating to lose your child. Every parent would go through this. It's closure, and why is part of that even though they will never understand it.
We all are looking for answers. Hopefully we can all learn from this sensless death. One question I would like to answer is this one. So why do friends do stupid things or not do what we wish they would have done? Please remember like the person that was killed maybe they others too were drinking too. May be they were not thinking like your son or daughter at the time of the tragedy. People do stupid things when they are drinking. Expecting others to be smarter than your loved one and do the right things during this time drinking is not smart either. If your son or daughter is getting drunk with others do not expect the others to do the right thing. Hope this helps others understand.
Someone slipped something in his drink! Fraternity brothers, hazing?
My friends would never let me leave a bar alone in that shape. Also rum and coke does not taste like barbecue. Something was put in it. I really admire his mother for staying on this until the truth comes out. She deserves the truth.
The only reasons someone like Riley would be running downtown after a being at a bar:
1.Being chased/threatened/hit with bad news
2.Reaction to alcohol or a drug/substance ie. Took a drug willingly, but his dose was too high, combined with alcohol
or somebody put something in his drink.
The fact that no one from his group of Frat Bros is speaking, that seems likely.
If they all took the drug together, that's all they had to say.

This whole situation is absolutely f ing terrible. I understand that we are all responsible for ourselves and as adults we know right from wrong, with that said Riley went to Nashville with what he thought were his friends his fraternity brothers and for him to be in the condition he was in and to be asked to leave the bat and for one of them to only walk with him to the exit door and be allowed to wonder off alone in a city that he isn’t all that familiar with is f ing disgusting and wrong on all their parts and I’m not even sure how much how he was found ways on them bc I would not have ever done that to someone I was out with and all it would have taken is for one person to have given a shit and he’d still be here today. What a lesson this is to both of my children who are both in college, I pray everyday for this never to happen to anyone
Nashville covering up because they are a tourist is WRONG! Remember last year Easter Day I believe a guy had a bomb in his RV in the downtown and blew up! I also criticize the lack of being a friend by letting him leave alone. Friends should have stayed with him to be sure he got back safely to his room. In my past experiences with raising my daughters & grandkids that is a big mistake & not a friend.
Why is the conversation with him and is mom just coming out and still nothing from the friends that he was with. If the drink had had something put in it i would think taste would not be noticable and if it did he should have ask for another one or something. What kind of rum was it made with and if he was as drunk as the media and news is saying someone should have called a cab or walked him to the motel.

Something's fishy about the frat brothers. They're acting as a group, not individuals. They all won't talk to the parents, they all left together to go the formal, sounds like most of them were in the truck coming back. Why are they so tight together and why did they seem to isolate Riley when they knew he staggered out of that last bar drunk? If they're so close, why would they let Riley wander off when he was supposed to go with them? They need to be interviewed separately by the police and if they haven't already, something's very suspicious as to why not.

I don't drink liquor... but I've tasted Rum and Coke. My X drank that exact drink at times! I would NEVER think "this taste like BBQ sauce"??? Wait was he not 21? I don't understand.... the first dialog about what would have changed? And they didn't call the police at 3am because they were drunk!

It’s heart breaking, but he was an adult, it was his decision to get drunk. Nothing good can ever come of it. It’s tragic that they lost him this way.
He didn’t drink enough to be drunk. No one who is drunk enough to be ejected from a bar is drinking 2 waters at that time.

@@LE-ms8fl yes he could have been BUT, if he was terribly intoxicated he would not have been ordering waters for himself? i don't know, this whole thing i confusing but there is 100% foul play and I am gutted for the family.

No you cant expect 150 kids to miss their formal and search , Im sorry but they probably just thought he met a girl or was sleeping it off somewhere. of course once that was done they really could have done something , locals were searching , they could have too or at the very least meet with the family and tell them everything they can
