It’s so telling that the story of staff refusing to let Riley’s frat boys leave with him we’re proven wrong. As it turns out it wasn’t that they were denied the ability to leave with Riley it’s just that they were ALL SELFISH a holes and decided to stay and send their friend off on his own!
Yeah you can’t withhold someone from leaving a bar. His friends were selfish and didn’t want their good time spoiled. If only one of them had helped it wouldn’t have ended this way.

So many things could have been said as they went down those stairs, though. The friends may have told him to wait out front while they settled the tabs, and he didn't. Riley may have been saying, "No worries, I'm fine. I'll just meet you back at the hotel." If all of the friends were in the same inebriated state as Riley, maybe nobody was thinking clearly and they really though he'd be OK. It's such a tragic story, my heart breaks for his family, and all who were with him that night. They must have such guilt. This is a lesson for all that you make sure someone in the group is 100% sober and the group doesn't split up, no matter what.

I was a bartender manager security the whole 9 for 14 years in Nashville if a customer ended up at my bar regardless of howmany other venues they were at! That person was now my responsibility!!! I would drive them home myself or get them an Uber!!! These bars get you drunk then kick you out or call police which my thoughts are BS!!! Laws need to change!! Bar establishment to make sure these tourists get back to there hotel safely and dont just kick them out there not in there right minds when intoxicated

It was a suggestion so the public can see he was upset with what happened. He is in contact with family you can probably assume he will pay for funeral expenses not sure though. Nobody blamed Luke but they could have called him a ride

The college students went to 4 bars, they were adults and of age to drink. This isn’t in any way on Luke.

Should the bar have called for an uber to take the young man safely to where he was staying? Yes, it would've been a good idea. Has anyone thought of frat hazing? Or that he was drugged as a joke by his frat "brothers"? Those were his frat "brothers" & as being that they should have left with him. At least 1 of them. Just thoughts & an opinion from a retired bartender, bar manager & part owner. If you want your clientele to have a good time & keep coming back you keep them safe .
Why would the bar call an uber? They will call a taxi if the person asks, but you have to have an uber account to call an uber. The bar isn't going to pay to get you home and isn't going to keep you from leaving the bar. If they do, it's false imprisonment.

I saw the statement that Luke had released early on. Reaching out to the family is nice, but in my opinion, it is long overdue. I understand he had to keep working--he had released a new song or was working on one. He was in the news for something work related while the search was going on for Riley. I wish he had attended the vigil or offered to meet with the family privately. Maybe legally he was not allowed. I think he could have offered to put up money for people to come forward. I am glad the family is happy about Luke reaching out. Personally, I think it is to repair damage done to his bar since the case has brought a lot of publicity. I liked what I saw of Luke on the Voice, etc. prior to this incident. As a businessman, I wish he had stepped up sooner.
"Kudos to Luke Bryan and his team..." ?? While I don't fault Luke, I do put some blame on his team for kicking Riley out onto the streets knowing his condition. I also think it was super crummy for his friends to ditch him! It may not be a law, but someone could've (should've?) helped Riley get back to his hotel safely.

Luke Bryan should have been there within 24 hours of that boy missing he should have released the tapes to the family and police. Luke Bryan needs get it together. All he's got to do is think about one of his children missing. Luke Bryan should have been right there right along working with this family from day one.
Riley told his friend who followed him to the exit that he was going back to the hotel, and his friend blindly trusted Riley. Odds are all of the guys were intoxicated so none of them really thought of following him. That friend probably still has a tab open too. From what I heard there wasn’t much audio so who knows what was said.
I’m trying to keep an open mind on his fraternity brothers. They did make some bad decisions but odds are they all have been drinking for most of the day so they probably didn’t think on following him at all.
The bar could have told more than Riley to leave, not just Riley or even ensure that he had a ride. The staff were more sober than any of the guys in the fraternity that night.
If Riley's friend's were also intoxicated why weren't they made to leave the bar also. I think the Frat Brat's did something to Riley's drink. They are in hiding now..........NOT talking to anyone about Riley.

One did go out while the other were settling the tab, you can see it on the surveillance video. Strain started running and his friend went back in. Riley Strain got drunk and fell into the river because he was drunk. It's his fault and nobody else's.
