- Angel Carter is opening up about life since the death of three of her siblings, Leslie, Bobbie Jean and Aaron Carter. In a new interview with Gayle King on 'CBS Mornings,' Angel talks about growing up with them and their big brother, Nick Carter, including what might have led the three of them down the wrong path. Leslie died in 2012 at the age of 25, Aaron in 2022 at the age 34 and Bobby Jean died in 2023 at age 41. Angel explains why she thinks they all died at a young age

Sounds like the same millennial story in entertainment. They didn't have emotionally mature parents to help them navigate. The parents saw dollar signs and pushed their kids to work without boundaries or rest.

Nick escaped the same fate only because of his brothers in the Backstreet Boys. Thank god for them.

You are probably correct. When you have a loved one that struggles with addiction such as alcohol and or drugs, you can try so hard to convince them that they need help but, at the end of the day, it’s them that they have to decide to have the will and to recognize that they need help.
Broke my heart when aaron passed away. He struggled and tried to keep going. As someone who has mental health issues i understand. Taking mental health days are important for everyone.
I had, unfortunately, a similar childhood as the Carter kids did minus the fame. My parents fought constantly that when they finally got divorced TWO years ago, I was elated. There was always lack of boundaries and respect to one another that one of my siblings still have issues with it to this day. I have another sibling that is a recovering alcoholic and opiate user that took him a long time to snap out of it. I have been in therapy and have been taking medication since 2017 for my anxiety and depression and to be totally honest saved my life. I felt forced to deal with a lot of chaos that led me to be a perfectionist, people pleaser, and having ZERO self respect to the point that led me to thinking I was better off dead. Children should never have to deal with chaos when their only priority should be just being a kid.
I can’t believe that Nick and Angel are the only of the Carter 5 that are left. So sad. Also, Angel is so beautiful. She really is an angel 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Nick decided to sacrifice his family members for fame. He just had no idea it was would be close family like that! Like Kanye sacrificed his mother and other friends and relatives!

I've been hoping 'Recovery' would be released! I fell in love with a live video of it years ago. Sad Aaron couldn't see his way to recovery and stability and happiness. RIP AC. I sometimes like to imagine a healthy adult life for him- as a happy, fulfilled, honest, compassionate man

There was a tweet Aaron posted a few months before his death that I believe Nick would take comfort in. In the tweet Aaron said he loved Nick even though they've had their differences over the years.

Of course Nick feels certain guilt. It's human. I hope Nick doesn't feel responsible, though. He isn't. I blame the parents, mostly. The industry and social media. It caused most of the kids to want to escape it by drinking and or drugging. We addicts never know who will become an addict. Addiction doesn't discriminate. It would be hard to put ourselves in their position.

Drug abuse
Family not well off, mental illness, lack of guidance. It's not always drug abuse, and growing up like that is tough to overcome - for anyone. Good luck to the surviving siblings. Hope they thrive, and keep their siblings in their heart.
@@DixieC-vj2sg It was drug abuse, they all died from drug overdoses. They likely have a family history of addiction, the majority of addicts do. It is tough to grow up like that but drugs are the culprit here.
@@j.c7719 Learn about severe mental illness which at least one of the siblings had - which in his case has a genetic component and why substance-drug abuse is often a form of self medication. Don't know the family but willing to bet the root cause is at least partly mental illness.
@@DixieC-vj2sg I’ve lived it. I know that but ultimately it was drug abuse that caused their deaths. Addiction is always a form of self medicating but it’s the substances that do the actual damage.
How tragic for this family to only have 2 out of 5 siblings be alive. I didn't know he had a twin. Before his death a lot was being exposed. Sadly none of what I heard was really told here. Nick doesn't seem as sad abd I do believe he is a big reason behind Aaron's downfall.

It’s also “involved” because her manager (who raped & stole from, therefore was fired by Aaron) is best friends with an exec of it, so they for sure get a kickback on the back end. It’s glorified money laundering. His estate has debt he was working on when he passed, the money should pay it off & build a nest egg for his son. That would be what’s best for “Children’s Mental Health”, not repeat the cycle & give his son a chance, she has no self awareness to do that though, she surrounds herself with the people who put Aaron on this path.
These parents ruined their lives. It's so unfortunate. Greed & wealth are all these parents cared about. Very sad. 😢

I believe all of the siblings that passed had children, so I pray the generational curse is broken through them. This is one of the saddest modern day celebrity family legacies.
Two of the three did, Aaron (one baby boy) and Bobbie Jean (one little girl) that recently passed. The sister, Leslie, that was the first to pass away years back, didn’t have any children.

Aaron story is very sad tragedy. I saw him as a kid while i was a kid and thoughtthat looks like fun but id rather be just a regular kid with my family. However when my dad died a few years later i did become more jealous of celebrities especially the earlier seasons of keeping up with the Kardashians as I wanted my family back.

So hard to lose 3 of your siblings. I can't even imagine. Drugs and alcohol and mental health is such a struggle. I lost my brother in 2005, he was shot and killed during a robbery. He was around the wrong crowd too but was trying to change his life around. The sad part, the two guys who were involved were never caught. So, his case is a cold case. He was only 29 years old. My mom also lost her first born son at 4 months. It was friends of theirs that was taking care of him and she thinks it was because they ignored him when he was crying in his sleep. He was lying on his stomach and his face was on the mattress. They called it SID but my mom thought otherwise. She was a nurse as well who worked with children. The pain for their family and the parents to lose 3 of their children. I am so glad that Nick and Angel did not fall into that path. Prayers, love and hugs to everyone who struggles and who has lost loved ones. 💕💕💕🫂🫂🫂🙏🙏🙏
