What a strong, brave woman. I’m in awe of her. As the oldest of 3 boys with divorced parents who are alcoholics, so much of this I can relate to. I’m the one in my family fighting to break the cycle for my brothers and our future children. It’s not easy work and I commend her for being so open & vulnerable. For many years I have felt alone in my trauma but the beautiful thing about social media is the platform it has given others to share their experiences and help others not feel alone and how to get help.❤
Wow!!! 😢 what a powerful testimony! I'm sorry for the pain, thank you for sharing this personal family truth!!! This is so many people's life!!! Let's talk more about our inner self! How are we doing inside? Write a book!!!
So much trauma. I've lost one sibling and that was enough. I cant even begin to imagine the pain this family has gone through. What incredible strength Angel and Nick have
I remember the day he passed 😭 I was bawling in my car. I felt by his social media at the time that something bad was going to happen to him. Rest in peace.
Thank you so much for sharing the story and covering the narrative that a lot of people do not want to speak about so freely. Love your resilience and strength. Thinking about both you and Nick ❤
Wow! Angel you are such a strong woman and so glad that you have been able to help yourself to get out of the generational cycle within your family. What a great example you are setting for your children and others. Thank you for sharing.
Omg this made my heart hurt even more for Angel and Nick. No one should have to go through this kind of pain. Angel is a strong, beautiful wise soul ❤😢 I hope and pray that Leslie, Aaron and BJ's souls have finally found the peace they couldn't find when they were on earth. 💔🕊️
LOL Nick is happy Aaron is dead. I do feel bad for Angel, and only Angel. Even she is probably secretly a bit relieved though as her husband hated Aaron and it makes their marriage easier he is dead as well.
@@frankiedelgadoesAnd sadly, both of them didn’t have a close relationship with any of their dead siblings. That is what hurts me the most is the siblings I know are gone, the ones that I didn’t get to know due to their estranged relationships are still here. And the way the estranged ones treated my friends is appalling & now they can paint their own narrative with no basis on reality.
@@Fireteam2479 Agreed. And don't think you think Corey Conrad and Lauren Kitt Carter were a big part of turning Angel and Nick, their spouses, against Aaron as well. And even against BJ. And in Lauren's case against Leslie too (Corey only came into the picture a bit before Leslie died so won't blame him for her). I call that clique the snob 4, they think they are above the others in that family. Corey sends thousands of dollars to his deadbeat brother Kyle every month so he doesn't have to work and can pursue his fantasy of being a Disney animator which will never happen. But refused to let Angel send anything to Aaron even when Angel wanted to, saying she was "enabling" Aaron. Lauren has her drunk father and various cousins live for free in their house, while sending members of her sisters family Nick's money. Nick and Angel are still at fault too as they should have stood up to their spouses in this instance.
Why doesn’t she talk about Lauren Kitt Carter paying Ganval to harass Aaron? Nicks wife enabled the hacker and swatter. But they did everything they could to help him? SMH 🤦♀️
@@frankiedelgadoes That plus one missing piece, Aaron’s ex who pulled a knife on him & had a restraining order put on her a month prior to her getting one from them put on him.

That you for sharing her story on your platform. Also thank you to Angel for having the courage to speak about everything. I was a die hard Aaron Carter fan and his passing was so hard for me. I still play his music and keep his spirit alive as much as I can. It is scary to see his entire life be just used and exploited. You can see now in so many interviews over his childhood that he didn’t want to be apart of this anymore. He did it to get close to his brother. He just wanted his brother with him and close and he did whatever he could to get close to him. His parents didn’t protect him and I’m so sad for him and for all of his siblings.
Such a great episode. Thank you Angel for sharing your experiences with us. You radiate such beautiful energy. I've been a BSB fan for 25 years. Really appreciate you sharing your side of things. ❤
We just learned that we have a therapist in our small town. And as soon as she gets her insurances figured out, my husband has agreed to go to deal with some anxiety.
I always knew that Angel is the wiser and mature one since the House of Carters era. I love how she took the role as the peacemaker, always hugged it out and handled things well. Love to see the woman she has become now and I hope that Nick and her keep their relationship close and always be there for each other. The story is heartbreaking yet inspiring for us all especially the ones who are going through similar things. She's such a strong and inspiring human being.
I agree, even though you noticed on H.o.C. how immature she still was back then. I think she and Aaron were only like 18 or so. Miles from the person we see today. ❤
People don't understand that families/friends can do everything right, and it still won't make a difference. Sometimes, loved ones have to make the hard choice to love from a distance. Most will be there if & when the addict/alcoholic is ready to seek help. It's a monster disease that impacts not just the addict/alcoholic, but loved ones too. More empathy, less judgment.
Angel is such an honorable human being.... that'd right one can only help themselves... mental health is sooooo important. Espeicslly now a days with kids and teens being in social media 24/7, it can be the worst ever sometimes.... angel deserves happiness and closure and forgiveness.... she is literally am inspiration. I used to work alongside addicts and I can relate to her so much towards others who I have heard stories from being in sober living homes and rehab facilities. This episode is so tragic but can also being so helpful for others struggling out there
17:47 💯💯 Angel it takes at least a year for the brain chemistry to get back to normal after addiction. I'm glad Angel did this interview, i have so much more respect for her now.
R.I.P Aaron Carter 1987 2022 He's the best singer but I do love him when he was 12 years old. Aaron's Party Come Get It is my favorite song memories. I'm so sorry for the loss.
I know for a fact I lived with family that has mental health issues but I broke that cycle it's hard but my remedy now as a mom wife is putting God first therapy and surrounding yourself with healthy relationships
You guys did everything you could for him. I saw him on live about a month before he passed, and even I begged him to get clean before it was too late. He couldn’t even admit he had a problem.
This resonates with me so much. I watched my husband from a distance destroy his life and ultimately giving up and passing 4 years ago. It breaks your heart into a million pieces. You can only help them if they want the help. I had to break from him because i couldnt enable him anymore. Its the worst position for a family memeber to be put in and it sucks. Mental health and addiction go hand in hand.
I was thinking the other day, I've learned a lot about myself since I started listening to The Squeeze. For example, some things I need to do for my mental health, like going for walks and cleaning (I'm not the only one lol). If I need to clear my head, I'm realising how important those things are for me. The Squeeze podcast has become a sort of therapy for me. 🥰
Angel 😇🫂 I appreciate your words of wisdom & positive outlook as much as you've been thru❣️🫶 I lost my only sibling in high-school. Such a vulnerable time already..I know how hard It is to deal with thru life.😢 especially cuz I KNOW I've needed therapy but never went or addressed it. I've had a ton of loss in my family also, my dad, when i was young & g parents but I CANNOT imagine losing more siblings like you've had to endure. They are deff with you, thats all that saves me! knowing that! They're Angels angels for life!😇❤ much love hun💖✌️ 🫂
I think that’s such an important note in this. A lot of times mental health issues will stem from something - esp before the addiction occurs. Here being the sexual abuse of three siblings, and then the addictions that followed. It’s also so evident that when you put in the work to heal, you will change your future.
You are beautiful inside and out Angel ❤ I’m so sorry you and your family has been through so much. I met Aaron on two different occasions. He was so so so sweet both times. It broke my heart to see him struggle. Thank you for speaking up.
This is my first time listening to this podcast. The women interviewing was extremely difficult to listen to and really had very little to add to the conversation. When she asked Angel what was there hardest thing mentally she ever had to deal with, Angels face and response was exactly what I was thinking. Angel it’s been amazing to watch you open up and tell your families story. As someone who grew up listening to both Aaron and the Backstreet Boys , we all feel like we have been apart of your family . Breaks my heart to see all that you all have had to go thru while we seemingly had no idea. It’s truly beautiful how you have turned all of this into such a positive legacy to it all.
Angel you should not have to explain what you tried to do for Aaron, but I thank you for speaking out about mental health and especially kids mental health. ❤❤❤ You are so very strong and I still believe you are the Angel on earth who is speaking for the angels in heaven (your family members and others,) who are proudly looking over you and so thankful for you talking about this too. The hosts did an equally remarkable job handling the conversation with so much care & creating a warm space that allowed her to share so freely. And, yes, I definitely sobbed watching it all unfold. Great episode! Angel is so such a beautiful soul. I do wish they went a bit further into the sexual abuse on anything Angel could have been comfortable with sharing. I know Aaron was accusing Leslie of abuse...what are Angel's thoughts about that? Were these people from the entertainment industry that hurt Aaron and Angel? Is there anything Angel wants to do to hold these people accountable? That is maybe one of the biggest things that haunted Aaron and there should probably be a deeper discussion about this.
@45:25 Aaron was being super unstable on one of the insta lives I tuned into on his way to perform a show in Florida with no sleep and bragging about all his guns in the trunk.
This was such a good interview ! Angel is such a beautiful person inside and out. She is going to keep making such a powerful impact
@12:45 The first time I met Aaron was when he was 15 and bless him he was so cheery and happy and carried on with the Jukebox Tour throughout this summer months. When really he should of been in therapy and had time out from work 😢
Please write a book Angel, your story, words and feelings are very important and can help many others... Thank you for sharing your life with us,
it broke my heart when she said she couldnt save aaron iuse to see him live on instagram and i would send him grace and tell him how amazing he is. but in the end he has to want to save him self this is my first time listening to this and im glad i am. oh and you can tell she is a good sister
Thank you for covering this topic! ❤
Angel you are amazing and so inspirational. You are strong, kind, caring, supportive and loving. That is so evident. Even through all the unimaginable chaos and grief. Thank you for sharing your story and enlightening us all. ❤❤❤❤
Good for you ❤ Good luck
Me and my daughter suffer with mental. Health and me with substance abuse, I'm sober 6 months but this has broke my heart
She has such a sweet gentle spirit!
This episode is so tragic but can also being so helpful for others struggling out there
Wow, thanks Angel for sharing your story with us, you are so brave.
17:47 💯💯 Angel it takes at least a year for the brain chemistry to get back to normal after addiction. I'm glad Angel did this interview, i have so much more respect for her now.
Thankyou so much for being so open.this was a beautiful session.❤
This was a heartbreaking and powerful conversation. ❤
I love Angel! I love how she was able to tell her story❤ we’re here for you ❤❤
You guys did everything you could for him. I saw him on live about a month before he passed, and even I begged him to get clean before it was too late. He couldn’t even admit he had a problem.
Sure they did…
This resonates with me so much.
Amazing interview, Angel is great a comunicating
This episode touched me deeply…. 🧡🥹
I think that’s such an important note in this. A lot of times mental health issues will stem from something - esp before the addiction occurs. Here being the sexual abuse of three siblings, and then the addictions that followed. It’s also so evident that when you put in the work to heal, you will change your future.
Loved this. Open. Honest. No shame in my game. Weight lifted off. Saying how you feel xx .all important take homes. Thanks for sharing your journey ❤
You are so very strong and I still believe you are the Angel on earth who is speaking for the angels in heaven (your family members and others,) who are proudly looking over you and so thankful for you talking about this too. Sending so much love to you and your family ❤❤❤
She is so gorgeous!! She’s also so wonderful to hear, but my goodness, I’d never seen her, and I’ve always heard the media talk about her, but I’m happy to finally see her speak.
Wow what an amazing interview. I learned a lot!
Been a fan of Aaron since 1997, still cant believe his gone
Truly moved by Angel Carter's appearance on the podcast. Her strength in discussing the painful losses was deeply touching.
The hosts did an equally remarkable job handling the conversation with so much care & creating a warm space that allowed her to share so freely.
And, yes, I definitely sobbed watching it all unfold. It was a powerful episode reminding us of the importance of love, healing, and seeking help in tough times.
Kudos to Angel for her bravery & eloquence!
I just watched the podcast angel, you are a beautiful caring person and very knowledgeable, God bless you and your family and Nick and his family and also your mother Jane. You have all been through a lot stay strong
Just came to watch her POV and wasn't respecting to relate to her in some aspects. This podcast was so well done and I have so much respect for Angel ❤
You are so strong Angel! Thank you for this. May god bless you and your whole family.
What a great episode ❤
Sending all my love to you, Angel. And kudos to Taylor² for this podcast. It was beautifully done. ❤
I’ve always admired Angel, such a strong person.💕
Arron has always been my first crush. Thank you Angel for sharing this.
Yeah he was mine as well!
Angel is freaking awesome and she doesn't owe any of us anything but yet she put herself out there on a podcast and went out of her comfort zone .I'm proud of her and Nick as well he hasn't spoken much about Aaron but still
And why is that? You have no idea.
Thank you, Angel! ❤
I understand wanting to know, but it's none of our business.
@@meganmanship4012 She brought it up
I miss Aaron. I hoped for better for him. 🕊️
@19:30 Just so much for any family to deal with and the fact that Angel's Dad passed away at a relatively young age too 😢
God bless the Carter family 💜
@45:25 Aaron was being super unstable on one of the insta lives I tuned into on his way to perform a show in Florida with no sleep and bragging about all his guns in the trunk. I called local police on him with my concerns and they pulled him over within minutes on the free way. They told me after that they couldn’t do anything because he wasn’t doing anything illegal :/
Such an amazing interview. I listened to every word. What Angel shared really filled a lot of gaps and questions I had. I wish nothing but the best for Angel and Nick. I also just went to Nick's Who I Am concert in Frankfurt. He's such a wonderful person
If you listened to every word then you heard the words “You Know” about a thousand times. (Not exaggerating)
I always say that every episode I watch is my favorite but Holy moly this episode was so inspiring and eye opening. Thank you to Angel and both Taylor's for such wonderful content and for always caring about people and their mental help ❤ Us lemon drops love you!
Second ❤❤ Love ye Taylor’s thanks for helping with my anxiety and mental health with your podcasts!!!
Thank you angel for your first interview ❤❤❤
I feel so bad for Aaron. People got in his head.
And Angel & Nick’s too to start this whole mess.
Amazing interview thank you so much. Aaron death still shocks me. It hit me so hard. I would watch him daily on instagram daily. He was so troubled. It broke my heart. I hope he’s at peace ❤
Great ep, so sad though, grew up reading and hearing about this.
I'm proud of Angel that she keeps going ahead and doing well, thanks for sharing your story Angel! This really impacts me but I'm glad than Angel is doing okay with her family, with her life, she's a strong, smart and independent woman who knows what she wants in her life.
Losing a sibling to drugs(or anyway) is so hard!! Lost one of mine in 2017 duee to drugs and it's so hard😢
I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you love ❤️.
@@xojacquie7356 Thank you♡
My first concert was Aaron Carter 💔
They had such terrible parents, who on earth lets their kids get abused in this way? Who did they let have access to their kids like this? Sickening.
I really enjoyed this podcast...thank you Angel ❤
Love her ❤ so happy shes on this podcast
Someone who deals with mental health as I do this really touched me and being a fan of nick and Aaron especially Aaron since age of 8 when he died I couldn’t believe it and never wanted to life is precious get help if u need it talk to someone it really made me open my eyes to do so, this was emotional to me and to go through what this family and what angel has gone through hits and I’m truly sorry angel im amazed of what you are doing with mental health it’s very amazing thank you!!
There childhoods were taken away from them. I remember on disney summer concert featuring bsb nick said i never had a chance to go to high-school. I feel so bad f I r nick and angel. I hate to say this but their mom got karma! She did them dirty! No childhood, steaping money etc. She should've thought of consequences
You guys should get Kevin Von Erich on the podcast to talk about the iron claw family and his family story .
This family definitely had family members who were loved more than others. Some it it’s understandable and some not so much.
