The reason the volume slider on the side of the headphone is infinite, is bc you can use it to adjust things such as eq and settings on the dac. So it wouldn’t have a full range of motion if it wasn’t limited. You can activate that feature by pressing in the volume wheel a few times and scrolling.

I recently upgraded my older entry level wired headset to the steelseries arctis nova 7x. Massive upgrade and thing they represent a fantastic value at the $150-180 range vs the Nova Pro's here if you're not into spending that much but still want a very nice headset with many of the same features and software. Sonar is amazing too.

Please note this headset Have removable ear Cushions and this also have the traditional adjustment alongside the band adjustment. Thank you for your review i got these when they came out and i love them 10/10 i will say some buyers with bigger ear may have comfort issues as the ANC mic in there earcup may rub on your ear i advise getting Wicked cushions to help with that. you did miss small details but you did a good video

I’m still using the the old school Arctis pro wireless, haven’t had the need to upgrade yet but I have had noticed that the rechargeable batteries aren’t holding charge like they used to. Love your in depth videos man.
I have both and the Nova Pros are way lighter and more comfortable in my opinion and the battery life of each battery is way better. Other than that not too much difference between them.
@@brentcox2961 have the Arctis Pro and they “Game” audio just won’t work, the “Chat” audio works fine… but the quality is lacking. Uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different USB ports (2.0 and 3.0), used sonar GG or whatever it’s called, amended the sound from 4800 to 3200Hz, nothing seems to work… only started yesterday. Before that, no issues. It’s put me off going for any other SteelSeries product as their customer support sucks.

There is no 1st party replacement options for the ear cups but there is Wicked Cushions. If you haven’t checked them out, you should do so.

Awesome video my guy! I just got a pair for my birthday, and so far, I love the upgrade. Had the V1 deck with just some wired Arctis Pro and loved it. The only thing I am having trouble with at the moment is trying to activate the 96Hz option from my PC sound settings and I didn't see you cover that here. Any advice? Will also drop you a sub. Just heard about these today and your video sold them. I have a pair of Turtle Beach Elite Pro that are amazing and have a control base but they have 4 wires and are a pain in the ass. I want simple and wireless, I just pray these are as comfortable as mine and the quality of sound is as good. It is all on you my friend. Thanks.

I had the Astros A50. Broke on me after a few months, never spent more than 200 bucks on a headset.
I ended up buying the Steelseries Artics pro with the gamedac and its been great but I move often and I forget I'm plugged in and have pulled my headset off because of it lol so after a few videos I came across yours and got sold on the Nova Pro. I'll be getting them next week! pretty excited! thank you!
My new daily driver r the turtle beach stealth pro, I just just felt in love with the sound but I still use nova pro wireless every now and then ..I love both of those headsets , they are both amazing.

Hey just so everyone knows, you can add bands to the EQ settings you are not limited to 5 as mentioned in the video, you are actually limited to 10 bands. Pretty comprehensive review overall though.
Love the 3.5 jack and the driver. When gaming I use the wireless DAC, when listening to music I plug the headphones into another DAC just for hi-fi musics.
Is this better than the turtle beach you reviewed recently do you reckon?
Ear cups are totally replaceable! I also have the Wicked cushions gel version and they make the headset perfectly comfortable now
He didn’t even mention the mics inside the earcups making pressure on your ears. This guy didn’t do any research.
@@vitorfernandes651Not everyone has that problem, I didn't but I replaced them with the Wicked ice gel cushions because of the heat. You can swap them to other cushions that are thicker.
@@vitorfernandes651 that comes down to your ears man, i personally don't find an issue with the anc mic's, but my mate does, i definitely recommend the wickedcushions cushions tho, i'll be getting them once they have the ones i want in stock. but till then i'll just deal with these

You run your sounds via aux from your mixer to the steelseries station. I assume you still have a usb connection to the pc to control the station with the software
I'm planning to replace my a50s soon as they are on their way out and tbh I was worried nothing else could compete some this video really helped thankyou . I've always like steel series as I have the diablo 4 steel series headset I use for my phone so having a set for my pc and xbox will be quite nice

Hoping to find a long term review on your page. I'm currently using An A50 Gen 3. The volume wheel broke on this and my Gen 2 pair so I am looking to move the hell away from Astro and the Nova Pro Wireless caught my eye. It was between this and the Audeze Maxwell but I need something for multiple platforms. Thanks for a great review. Still holds up a year later.

For those who play Warzone, the Arctis Nova Pros are 100% better than the Astro A50s. I had the A50s for the last 1.5 years and just recently made the switch. The Astros can be an amazing-sounding headset when it works. WHEN IT WORKS. Constant firmware issues (out-of-the-box) where it would disconnect or not charge, even AFTER replacing the entire docking station. The headband also started to randomly warp to a point where it was extremely uncomfortable to wear. I just dealt with the issues for so long because I thought "it was the best". Little did I know. Been rockin the Artcis pros for a month now - no issues and I can hear footsteps 1000% better than the Astros. Never going back.
I never had those problems with the astro a50, the artic pro definitely not 100% better I been doing my research and will definitely get them. The astro a50 had got a 4.3 while the Arctic Pro got a 4.5.
Do you have spacial audio activated in the steel series software?
does adjusting the audio settings change the headset it self or just the way it works on pc? if i fine tune the headset on PC will it keep those settings after plugging it into an xbox?

ive had this headset for a while, but ive never understood how to enable real surround sound. is there some hidden setting? i can only enable spatial audio and it sounds too fake and b blended together, but without it everything is ONLY left and right
Do you need the headset software to work the headset or does it work without it? Thinking about getting the headset, but I don't have a great PC that I think could get the software and constantly update the headset.
ive been using steel series head sets for a couple years now and really like them, current using arctis 7p+, would love to go with these at some point.
wicked cusions offer many replacement cusiona, i have the cooling gel ones for my nova pros and i love them. Try them out.
I bought these for my Xbox series x. Best headsets hands down. Can’t wait to build a pc and use these for them aswell.

I have the nova pro wireless xbox version using it on a ps5 how how deos the microphone work do you have to hold the button down on the headset in order to use the mic
I have had the original Arctis Pro Wireless headset for about 5 years now. I have had a few QC issues with them, and the fact that in the US they only have a 1 year warranty is very frustrating. The first issue happened in about 10 months, the right speaker stopped working, all good, they replaced it, but the replacement process was a pain. You send in your headset and they inspect it, then if they find it to be a manufacturing defect they will give you a voucher to order a new headset. I was like cool, I thought that since I was ordering a new headset the 1 year warranty would renew, not the case. The second set was good for about 5 months, then the right speaker detached at the hinge. I went to have it replaced and they claimed that it wasn't in warranty, but after speaking with one of their higher level reps, I got them to replace it. I have had that one for 3 or so years now. I just noticed the other day that the right speaker chassis has a crack near the hinge part. Even though I have had major concerns with their quality control at steel series, I find their sound quality and their software, along with the ability to use BT and 2.4 at the same time, while also having batteries that you can charge separately and swap out to put them far past any competition within the pricing segment.
See that's crazy they put you through that! The experience was much more pleasant for me. But it was just the hinge issue, same as you had. This was on my Arctis 9 though. But they still use the same cheap ass assembly on my newer Nova 9. But i'm with you on the features and quality. They sold me on hot swapping batteries lmao. Oh and I'm actually going through a rough warranty claim with Razer at the moment, with a defective mouse which I literally just bought two weeks ago. Razer is putting me through hell, so much so that I'm seriously thinking about never purchasing another one of their products. So my point is, they are all pricks lol

How come when I connect my headphones and I try to click on engine it doesn’t show up the headphones that I see in your video because I have the same exact ones it just shows a USB icon and aux icon and a Bluetooth icon
I just got the Astro A50s but having a lot of connectivity issues to get it right. Should I upgrade to the steel series ? Or trouble shoot the A50s and get all the extra equipment
do you have to use the factory batteries or can you buy aftermarket batteries?
Just to point out there, on sonar you can add up to 10 EQ points, it just starts out with 5.
heads up dude, you can add an additional 5 bands on the eq, just click on the line/bar and adjust to how you please. gadgetrytech has a beautiful all round eq for these and i find them fantastic, some people with sensitive hearing to the letter "s" sound might find it helpful to drop the second last dot to 1db so it doesn't pierce your ears but overall its a great eq and should be added to the list by steelseries as it's proven and tested.
i use it and have only adjusted the bass and treble bars to what suits me and find it great for both gaming (fps and car sims etc) and music and movies. graph definitely looks a bit weird but it works fantastic.
does anyone know what material the cups are, I owned the older arctis pro model and the cups broke on me at the hinges because of the thin cheap plastic on them

Can I connect the gamedac to my iPhone 14 pro max via a lightning (iPhone) to type C ( DAC) cord and get the sound wirelessly to my iPhone and play games using the 2.4g low latency ?
I have one for the ps and pc version and I have to say, this is heaven! The first thing I said when I put it on was "It feels better on than off" also don't worry about getting hot. I listen to music all night with these and don't break a sweat.
Hi I recently bought these headphones and I am wondering why I am not able to have surround sound. For an example audio that is supposed to be in my left ear is playing through both ears. Also I played with the software and about 20 videos and reddit posts and a lot of things to try to fix this but I am unlucky. I am a sound nerd so I know a bit of stuff but for some reason I can't get this to work. Also it sounds like there is a filter on that makes the sound muffled. I would love to make these headphones work because of the price range...

I’m actually watching this review with plans to replace my XM4s that I’ve used on PC for about a year. While they sound amazing, they only work over Bluetooth with no AptX support, meaning they add a solid 75-150ms of latency to the audio. Bluetooth also means you can’t really use the microphone without killing the sound quality, so you really need a dedicated mic. Might be fine for single player stuff, but I mostly play Apex and Warzone 2. As a result I’ve been running them wired for most of the time I’ve owned them, completely defeating the reason I bought them in the first place. There’s also no noise cancellation when using 3.5mm.
But the biggest reason I’m looking to replace them is it just seems even with HRTF software, directional audio is atrocious with my XM4s (have both Dolby and DTS). I broke out an old pair of SteelSeries Arctis 7s and felt like I was hearing footstep direction way more accurately. Also, having to keep a loose USB C cable cluttering my desk to occasionally charge them just bothered me, which this Arctis headset seems to solve.
In short, the XM4s are AMAZING for movies and music, or even single player games, but they’re absolutely not gaming headphones, just not the audience Sony was targeting with them. If you play things where latency matters, go with something that has a dedicated 2.4ghz dongle.
Can you have both PC and Console audio through the headset?
I love mine and I changed the ear cushions to the wicked cushions and made them even better!!

Just an FYI, those are actually 10-band eq. It just starts with 5, you can click on the line to add more.
I just received my first Steelseries produtc, a Nova Pro Wireless Xbox and set up everything, except my desktop speakers: if I connect it to the line-out 3.5mm connector on the back of the transmitter, when I turn the headset off, the audio goes thru and my speaker sound, but I haven´t any volume control as the volume knob on the station doesn't do anything. If I plug the desktop speakers to my PC line-out as I always have done, I can set GG/Sonar to fallback to the integrated audio, but, as GG requires the Sonar Gaming device as default windows audio out device, again, I can't control the volume as any keyboard shortcut or dedicated volume knob will control the Gaming device on GG mixer and not my integrated sound output as it wasn't selected on windows taskbar. My desktop speakers are a pair of high quality wooden monitor speakers with back volume controls so, to set up a desired volume, I have to move the speakers to reach the volume knob on the back in the way that just control it using windows shortcut or the Nova transmistter will the the most practical way to to it... Someone know how to figure it?

Honestly, the fact that the A50's have a Dock is huge for me. I love it's function and it's aesthetic.

The infinitely scrolling wheel is part of the reason I love my Arctis 7s. Having two buttons for volume up/down would be terrible. I want to quickly turn up/down volume.
My batteries dont power on the headset unless my headset is plugged in the xbox it doesnt turn on and my mic for chat doesnt work even if my headset is turned on

Its pretty important because of the extra battery in the deck. Basically you literally never have to charge them.

Ya but if you have a legato capture card and legato wave 3 or wave xlr with the wave link app you can get the psversion witch I got p
You can add bands as you want in sonar EQ, don't know if there is an upper limit, also if the scrollwheel wasn't infinite, you wouldn't be able to control the dock from your headset, or change volume on you headset with the dock, plus it's easier to find the scrollwheel instead of having to pick out which of the buttons are power, mic, volume or bluetooth.

Idk why but my audio quality seemed to have been worse compared to my Arctis 7s.. still trying to figure out why
i have a goxlr pro and i was gettign confused between both mixers, becasue the gamdac has its own equalizer, but so does the mixer.. lol not to mention my go xlrpro is handling 2 computers ... its a wierd sense of direction but i hope to correct it and find the noise pathway
I find them awesome and almost ordered them. Then, I realized I’m too lazy to adjust and tinker with every settings, so I stuck with my 600 Gen 2 Max.

I’m about to swap to these. My a50 gen 4 never connect to the base when docking them, the lights just cycle back and forth. Even paid $99 for a new base from Astro. They are comfortable, but they are difficult to clean
Cups - Replaceable, little hard, but wickedcushions got your back.
Volume wheel - is as it should be, other wise would be damn annoying to control things on the duck. but also while connected via bluetooth. multifunctional.
You missed that the sides is expandable and retractable to fit bigger heads, not just the strap is an option.
Also the sides "covers" is like small knives, think the trail in them is too deep. or even maybe another multifunctionel feature, quick and easy way to file your nail while gaming.
while i have been using it for a week now. it's damn better than its predecessor Actis pro wireless. super comfy. worth to upgrade? Definitely!

Wish it had chat/game control on the headset like the a50s got cause it's gonna be annoying to open the app to adjust my sound I like to silence chat sometimes when I need to clutch matches soo going to a app mid game is gonna be annoying

How difficult would setup be if I don't own a pc?
I personally wish there was something on the deck that notified you whether you were on noise cancelling, transparency or off. I cant even tell when ANC is on or off.
