Have to drop a comment on my experience with the warranty. I started to experience some flat out loss of motion on the left stick about 10 months into having my Xbox ultra x. Hex was quick to respond through email and requested I record my issue on gamepad tester. This wasn’t drifting but rather sticking. They sent me a replacement option after sending my broken unit in about 4 weeks. No fuss or confirmation of any social media post like the original warranty requested. They advised I use the rubber stick protectors moving forward and the gamepad works great. For this I will always praise hex and continue to pick up there products.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Unfortunately the stick was faulty but good on them for handling the situation properly. 8 years with extremerate parts, 5 years with hex controllers (their parts) and I’ve had a very positive personal experience with my hex’s.
What are rubber stick protectors ?
There the rubber rings that come with the unit to wrap your sticks. Makes contact with the o-ring and takes some getting used to but will add to the game pads longevity for sure.
nice vid stallion! im runnin a battle beaver ps5 w 4 buttons that ive had 2 years and just ordered a Nagashock ps5 w 6 rears
That is great to hear your BB is still in faithful service and I’m gonna review the nagashock soon
Might have to get one looks like a great controller
I've had 2 Aim Controler generations .And the one Scuff Reflex Pro. And everything about the Aim Controller from the grip to the hair triggers and clicking buttons. Was amazing truly felt like luxury IT IS LITERALLY LIFE CHANGING. The only thing I can say is the scuff has lasted me longer from stick drfits with all of them to dropping my controllers ALL OF THEM whoops ( from chair heighth ) on accidetn😴 the scuff paddle layout is SUPERIOR !!❤ And how light the scuff is also. But tbh the only way to figure what is most natural for you. IS TO WATCH HIS VIDEOS and also try them out for youreself.
Solid comment. Thank you for sharing!
Im thinking about getting one also because i like how the back paddles are located but why is it so expensive 😢
@@vtrs813no real i wanna get one but everyone says they break in like 5 months
The issue with those screws to "re-center" thumbsticks will be the same as the Drift fix repair boards that extremerate also sell. When you re-center a worn potentiometer, you lose outer threshold from the opposite direction from the drift your correcting.
Very true
You had this review on the low low cause I had ask few videos back if you was going to do one on this controller cause I wanted to get it but after this review I won’t get it until launch I want to wait to see if it gets better
By the way the way I hold my controller these bottoms are the best for me cause I don’t hold my controller like a normal human being lol I actually use my middle
Finger on the top bottom and my ring finger on the bottom this controller will be perfect for me
Its nice to see the option to recenter and fix stick drift. I just want to have software to adjust things like deadzones, trigger response, vibration strength, polling rate etc outside of in game settings.
Those triggers with the dual mode switchable long travel vs short travel mouse click looks impressive!
How does the short travel work? Does it disable the adaptive trigger mechanism auomatically when you oull the levers or do you still need to turn off the adaptive trigger mechanism on the PS5 options?
They mentioned the Phantom on the Extremerate subreddit and I loved that these have the option of switchable modes for long throw analogue trigger and short digital clicky triggers. Disappointingly, they stated in the comment section that they have no plans of making these trigger mods a standalone extremerate kit (like they have done for the Xbox with their "Flexor" kits).
Would have loved having this feature on my own modded Dualsense
Those gaps all over are so disappointing, it's so pretty though. Great vid man!
Yeah they are, and thank you Chrish
My OEM PS5 controller came out of the box with the exact same issue on its right trigger, it feels super loose whenever the adaptive triggers are not being used.
I googled it and it's apparently a common issue with PS5 controllers. Sucks that it carries over to a custom-built pro, though.
Darn, that does suck.
newest revision late 2023 early 2024 ie new the silver dualsense has fixed a lot of issues that older variants had
Im liking this 🙏
Good my friend
Of all the pro PS5 controllers, which one has the best mechanical buttons? I'm trying to find the best controller for Tetris on PS5 and I need the PlayStation haptics so i can feel when I move a piece and mechanical buttons would be great for speed. Also, decent back buttons/paddles I can use for rotating the pieces would be great as well
I just got me a xbox ultimate controller going to be delivered tomorrow can't wait
There’s a new calibration tool now that’s free it recenters center point and configures outer deadzones it works on dualsense too
What's your TOP 3 PRO controllers for PS5 ?
I'm looking to buy one but I don't know which one I should buy
I'm looking into the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro because It has hall sensors anti drift or the Dual Sense Edge because we can swap the analog sticks if they get drift, but it only has 2 back paddles
I saw the Aim controllers too.. but I don't know if they are any good
I really don't know what I should get, I live in Europe
If you could help me in any way, I would be extremely grateful
Sounds awesome. Im currently waiting for my Aim controller; been waiting just over a month so far. Whilst I’m waiting I use my Dualsense edge on my PC that I absolutely love. I use my HYPR on my ps5 which I enjoy but I find the back buttons rather uncomfortable. Lastly I use the funlab Firefly on the switch which is awesome but I find myself remapping / unmapping the rear buttons during gameplay which is rather annoying.
I blame you for my controller obsession! 😂
Firefly for switch, hypr edge and aim for PS and PC. You are absolutely set with that “loadout”. Honestly bravo 👏 that’s quite a line up of saucy trollers 🎮
Yeah I’m set for anything , you’ve done me proud. However; the main thing I play is Fortnite and this latest season has sent it down the shitter so I may be hanging up my controllers for the time being! OR maybe a need a new game?!?
Great video bro hope your doing well, i like the controller (except the text on the front) that should be on the back, plus the other things you mentioned that could be a little better on launch, I'm currently looking for a new PS5 controller so this could be on my list.
Hey Mark, I’ve been pretty good man, hope you’re good there. Agreed, all that branding on the touch pad can go on the rump. Definitely a contender as it’s one of the best PS5 controllers I’ve tested
just bought the TCP ultimate
Aim stays as one of the best, but for under $200, this is very solid
Yeah, if it had he thumbsticks, it would be a definite buy for me, but it looks like I'm still going to eyeballin a dualsense from aim. On the topic of aim, does anybody know if they change the battery, or is it still the stock battery?
Stock Minty.
Nice controller and I have no issue with a tight box
😆
First. I love my Xbox hexgaming controller and I can’t wait til they bring these new features to their next Xbox iteration.
That will be righteous
i literally just bought a hypr cause of your one video and didn't see the others and this till now, am I gonna have trouble?
also this looks really good
They’ve had a rough road recently, but not every experience I’ve heard has been bad and if you have no issues their controllers are great
@@GamerHeavenOfficial this didn't show up in my notifs for some reason but thanks for the reply, I'll just wait for it to come in and probably preorder this hex controller next month.
that looks like a pretty good controller
Your user name tripped me out, it’s my last name and birth year lol
@@GamerHeavenOfficial no way lol thats my last name and birth year is ur bday march 30th?
Update: Hex Phantom now has hall effect available as an option 🎉
Are they using hall effect in these controllers?
I still love my Envision Pro. Only negative is no gyro as I really want to start bringing my Gyro experience on my Switch from games like Splatoon to my PC games.
This is why I am hoping one of these controller companies make a pro controller with 6 remappable buttons and gyro, then that will be my next.
I'm just here to point out that you have to be super careful when you calibrate your sticks with the small trimmer-potentiometers on the front.
They usually have a SUPER low lifecycle of around 10 - 100 turns, so if you keep adjusting them back and fourth you will wear them down really quick.
They are a set and forget kinda deal.
i wish i worked for naga shock because i totally would try to get my boss to send you a controller 😂😂 i wanna see that review so bad!
I’m gonna shock you when I finally release the nagashock ⚡️ review lol
I have been using Nagashock for years now! Best custom controller ever. I have been using one of their first PS4 controllers with their own custom hall effect sticks , and they are by far the best I've ever used!
@@GamerHeavenOfficialone of the few times I genuinely would enjoy a shock Mr.Heaven 🤣🤣
How does that left trigger feel when it’s in full trigger pull mode? The wiggle makes me think the spring is broken
The take up is looser than it should be but it still actuates
what makes the dualsense edge unbeatable is the fact that the FN buttons and rear buttons are individual buttons. If you have a PC, dual sense edge is the go to hands down. I feel like that was their appeal.
but don't you need a ps5 to map the buttons ?
It's absolutely baffling that they didn't just throw in the mechanical button and dpad mod that they already make. Any experience with how that mod feels? I'd imagine you could just pop that in here, but curious how good it feels.
Dang but real talk in your opnion which controller is the best for PC?🙌🏻Im only a ps layout guy so I’m considering getting the scuff pro envision
Envision feels pretty good. I returned mine cause the software was jank. Look up software/update problems with it.
I went back to using my dual sense edge I added mechanical buttons to.
Dual sense edge if you don’t mind only two paddles. Flydigi Apex 4 if you prefer Xbox and want four paddles. Also better HE joysticks.
Honestly the Vader 3 pro has always treated me tenderly on pc. Envision is a cool controller, not bad.
Take a look at the Flydigi Apex 4. Absolutely loving mine.
I just bought the nacon pro 5 so im good for now. Back buttons are great
Yeah the Nacon 5 should give you pleasure for longtime
@@GamerHeavenOfficial hmm thats hot. Thats a sexy sentence
Ok but what is the best adapter to get for Xbox
could you check out the beitong zeus 2 pro controller
Yes I plan to
I’d give it a try for Xbox If they do hall sticks, mech face buttons, mouse click bumpers and triggers. Always considered Hex Gaming due to Gamer Heaven’s Content but I’m glad I didn’t move forwards with hyper 😂
I’m also kind of glad to hear you didn’t get involved with hypr in their current state of affairs
@@GamerHeavenOfficial seriously though if it weren’t for your feed back regarding the lack of customer service and communication, I’m sure not only me but others would have been disappointed as well. Shame because they did have some customization options that are progressing the controller industry
New subscriber here.
Hehe KontrolFreek should have a Liberty Prime grips design wit his head on it and a hybrid which is the best coz' it's straight and the fastest from point A to B is a straight line.
God bless hybrid grips (I hope they make a nicely knurled all metal grips and/or grips with high-rise sticks).
Welcome! Liberty prime caps would be so awesome
@@GamerHeavenOfficial So true, all metal (w/ spring steel clips- no to plastic and warm rubber) w/ amazing knurling and Liberty Prime's head as part of the knurling (like money engraving). I did suggest this to Steelseries their owners :-) Metal and Gorilla glass someday in this 21st century is best (also plastic waste's making the climate really, deadly hot and humid).
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Hi sir Gamer's Heaven, you're like Linus Tech Tips or MKBHD or Mr. Beast but for controllers, I think if you suggest it, KontrolFreek will make the Liberty Prime one (may it have a hybrid variant) coz' you've got the power :-). (Fallout 3 version has better colors and better front torso) the Liberty Prime on Fallout 4 head (surrounded by relevant knurling) one grip and the 2 atomic bombs w/ it's rigging (for more grip) on another grip but the color would be Fallout 3- copper or rust (not brown). Also suggest to make a full metal version including the clips, the surface is brushed darkened a bit real solid copper or anodized aluminum (but anodization could wear off overtime and when scratched) with lots of relevant knurling (maybe it just says Fallout repeatedly in small metal font) for grip :-) It's a longshot but it's worth a try.
i have a question can u map back paddles on aim controllers? im really wanting to get one but im wondering how u can map them paddles and can u map it with all of the buttons like d pad joy stick buttons etc?
im lookin into gettin a xbox aim controller?
You can but it’s an additional up charge for a remap chip instead of static buttons as it is with most custom companies
@@GamerHeavenOfficial dang that crazy those back paddles look amazing for the aim controllers. sucks that every controller has a dwn side. maybe the elite 3 wont be broke like the elite 2 hopefully they will come out with it. elite 2 is perfect but after the 3rd controller i was done that controller has bad quality.
cool
Gamesir Kaleid Xbox review soon?
This week
yo dude could you please review razer viper v3 pro? and compare it to the razer deathadder v3 pro
Yeah
@@GamerHeavenOfficial lmk when u post the vid
I dont understand how a controller like this gets 15-16% on the circularity test while a cheap controller like the QRD Spark N5 (which you tested aswell gets 0.5? Could it be that the QRD has some software that corrects for close to perfect circularity, just so it performs better in this one test? Even very good controllers like the Vader 3 Pro cant even get close to that 0.5%?
I’m doing a new gpt video very soon. They may be those square puppies, they do look perfectly even which is the important thing.
Will extremerate sell the new back button design on amazon?
I’m sure they will eventually. Every hex design we have seen sold as individual extreme rate parts either at launch or down the road
Thanks man and keep up the great work u are doing!
I would like to use the back on my modded zone controller I currently have the Thompson 4 button back button set up on it I also have a diy clicky everything and hair triggers with 6 back buttons from extreme rate
I want this (or Hex's PS4 Edge), but actual programable buttons for pc; not just remaps. Scuf seems to be the only company to do this but it doesn't have the touchpad for mouse and ps4/5 enabled games, the battery life isn't great, and their software seems spotty at best. I use claw grip so I can hit everything just fine making secondary inputs irrelevant. I wish at the very least these buttons appeared as just generic buttons with no input that you could program them with DS4 Windows or steam input.
You'll never get this, ever. One issue is using the stock controller PCB and MCU, it has no overhead for custom inputs, or anything additional hence why every remap kit is on a separate PCB. Second issue is that it's a console controller locked to the features of the system, this is also why we don't see Switch or X-Input-only controllers with no additional overhead at the API itself. Scuf only did this because they made a PC-only controller, hence why it does have overhead for additional inputs that are not remaps, it's literally just a Direct Input or Raw Input device; Scuf also isn't the only one to do this, look at any PC-only or PC-primary controller and you'll see a lot of keybindings, for example Flydigi is a PC-primary company and llows for keybindings via their companion software or reWASD. If you're going to be having this kind of conversation, educate yourself first, all of this information is readily available if you actually made the effort to do a five second search.
Steam Input also is not your friend here. Sure they might support a variety of console controllers, but that's about it. Raw Input and Direct Input pads are hard limited to emulate what Xinput is capable of; if you want gyro, you have to use a supported controller for it, if you want a touchpad you have to have a supported controller for it, etc. There's also no support for third party gamepads, hence why the mention of FlyDigi pads only mentioning reWASD support, as Steam Input lacks support. Even if you had a controller with extra features, there's zero way to integrate it into Steam Input. The only future hope is that Game Input, Microsoft's newest API, has a configurator that allows for usage like Steam Input but is outright compatible with any controller. On paper Steam Input is amazing, but in practical use it's like any other black box API from any of these other companies, the only benefit is that it's the more or less the official way to have multiple controller APIs function natively on PC.
@@xaytana Scuf has the only pc-only controller I have seen in the playstation layout with extra buttons. There are a couple controllers with swappable stick positions but the frame is still xbox, which requires a longer reach to the sticks and is not ideal for my smaller hands. Like I said, I use claw grip. I obviously can't hit the d-pad with my left index finger in the xbox format. Otherwise I would have already gotten something like a flydigi pad as you suggested. Hence why I posted on a "playstation video" and not one of his others. Almost every other "pc controller" is in the xbox layout. While I'd love to use it, reWASD is bannable in online Activision and EA games just for being on your computer. It's absolute BS and basically criminal, but I'm not about to lose the time and money I put into Apex Legends and others just to use a controller. I also don't appreciate you insinuating that I am stupid and didn't do any research, because I have been for awhile. I was actually researching making my own game controller utilizing something like arduino because there is nothing on the market with everything I want. However, I have absolutely no experience with stuff like that, plus I'd probably need a 3d printer for a custom shell which I unfortunately don't have the space for. Although I do appreciate the knowledge about Game Input which I haven't heard about till now. I don't care if it works on the actual consoles or not. I simply want a pc controller, in the playstation layout, with extra buttons that can last me a days worth of gaming. Hex's ps4 edge and this newer ps5 design seems to be great imo. Scuf has proven it is at least possible, even if software is required for it to function properly.
The edge is really comfortable for a dual shock4 which I usually think are bit small, I think the phantom would serve you better in the long run. How long have you been playing claw and any tips for new claw players?
@@GamerHeavenOfficial I appreciate the recommendations. Still not entirely sold yet but I'm definitely keeping them on my radar.
I've been playing claw for many years now; since back in the Halo 3 & 4 days on xbox, I just didn't know there was a name for it back then. Then when the Xbox One fiasco hit with the kinect, I switched to ps4 where I played a lot of Destiny and Warframe. Warframe was the main game to solidify my preferred grip and controller layout. The earlier days of Warframe had your abilities mapped to directional inputs on the touchpad which was an absolute pain to activate in combat. So I remapped them in-game to the d-pad instead and started using claw with both hands. Now it's like second nature and I don't even think about it.
I don't know if you could classify these as tips or not as they are pretty standard for claw, but I tend to put my right index finger on square (x on xbox), with the first part of my knuckle resting on triangle (y on xbox). This way I can hit both buttons without even moving my finger, and the other two don't require much travel either. Depending on the game, you can still use your index finger for R1 or swap to your middle finger if you require faster reactions. Middle finger is used for the triggers on both sides.
I generally do the same for the left side too, but I find that most games use the d-pad far less than L1. So I find myself sometimes swapping my index finger solely to d-pad up for faster travel to L1. If I'm playing a rpg or something where the d-pad is basically just for menus and such, I generally don't even bother with claw grip on the left side.
I life your controller reviews! I just can’t afford one. :( maybe one day…
Hey just live vicariously through my haphazard spending and get yourself a reliable budget pad like the Gamesir g7 or Vader 3 pro if you’ve got a few more coins

Same here
i’d order this in a heart beat if it stays at $180(doubt it will lol) but i’m considering a scuf reflex fps since this one isn’t available to the public yet
The reflex will be a solid option for you if hex decides to jack the price past that $180 mark
@@GamerHeavenOfficial haha yeah, it’d be nice if it stays at $180 but so many other companies charge 3 times as much for a controller with less features than this, even with hex’s good rep i’d imagine something this good would be cheap
But they don't sell in Europe.. I asked them a week ago on twitter but no response for a futur sell :'(
I want buy custom controller but Im live in Turkey I don’t wanna pay duty tax or any taxes bcs Im already giving 250-280$ for a controller and taxes here very expensive do you know guys any site they sending free duty ?

Do you use those controllers with the Ps5 or pc
Little bit of both but mostly console as when I’m on pc I do a lot of keyboard and mouse play
