    I went in warmer weather and literally same peg ha , and honestly am not Walter Mitty here but I had to stop putting my rod in because I wanted a drink and sumert eat ! it was relentless !
    I think like you and your dad said it’s time to change tactics now . I will be Bomb fishing with worms ‘ prawns ‘ corn and sprinkling very few pellets into the area.

    Hiya mate, I know this is quite old now, but if you're still interested, soft tips for method, if the tip and the rod are too stiff, the takes are so savage at times that the hook link snaps, the soft tip cushions that initial take.

    Its very much a match style venue, not carp style fishing. In the summer on Gwens (2nd pool) you can catch over 200lb of carp with a top kit and paste in the margin. You can drop your method feeder in the margin 3ft from you and bag up easily. Lumps are closer in and smaller F1's etc seem to be towards the islands.

    Hi mate, tried size 11 quick change links and they do fit, but am worried hooklink will come off on fight. So I have come up with something better.put stem on line followed by a large guru float stop, then a Preston quick change swivel (the small swivels with the rubber that goes over to stop it coming off. It works very well on method. I’ve had 15lb carp on these swivels. Hope this helps. Keep the vids coming. I enjoy 😊

      @@WestysAngling hi. I’ve went last week and week before. The peg your dad used. I had to put stronger hook lengh on and bigger hooks. Fishing over to the spot your dad was on. Both days double figure carp lost a few. So that’s why I changed. On the feeder. Have to say. Fish in great condition. Majority 9 and 10 pounds. One lad had a 16 pounder opposite me on the float. In the margin

    I caught my first carp at Hall Lane!
    You can tell it's more catered for the match anglers. I go every now and again for a confidence boost and bend in the rod. You'll struggle to blank there. Definitely think you guys were unlucky with the changing seasons.
    I usually fish the second lake a few pegs in from the car park. I've noticed that the rod limit changes randomly too. I've been when you're allowed two rods.

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад

      I definitely agree with this Ryan ! With everything being so lateral and square to make the pegs fair 👌🏻

    Bit unfair 6.5/10. Excellent fishery well stocked well maintained with decent facilities. Also there is a concession rate of £5. 00 for juniors, disabled and pensioners. This time of the year is not always easy fishing so bad days can be expected even during the warmer months. Opening hours are at the discretion of the owner and are published online. 9/10 for me.

    • @WestysAngling

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад +2

      Just my preference 🎣🎣 that’s a bold statement, I know a lot of very good fishermen that use two rods. I think we hit that fishery on the wrong day to be fair, I don’t think anyone had much out. But you’re right maybe a more skilled angler or yourself would have done much better on the day. Tight lines and take care David 👍🏻🐟
