Welcome back to another fishery review! There has been a lot of demand for us to fish a tougher more natural venue, so we set out to fish low milk lodge in Chorley. About as untouched and over grown a natural venue as you can get.
My plan was to fish the venue with natural baits and the cage feeder! With a sleeper rod out with a carp rig and pva bag for the chance to get an elusive mill lodge carp.
As always grab yourself a brew or a beer and enjoy the session!

Agree. 76 and back into it. Done the odd bit over the years with my sons. And a lot as a kid with my Dad. Weary enlightens us with his great vids and tuition . Love it. 👍😁

When you mentioned about being tough fishery, the funny thing is I don’t mind find it relaxing float fishing whether I catch a lot or a few it always reminds me of my Dad when we went float fishing with quill floats . Just a happy memory . Just a pleasure angler. Hope you had a good day , regardless of bad weather. 👍
Totally agree, definitely float for me, not bothered about catching anything huge. And I still use porcupine quill floats (home made) rather than plastic waggler.

Me and my 8 year old daughter have fished Harry’s 3 times since watching your videos and she’s absolutely hooked on fishing now (pardon the pun) she would of loved a westys cap to wear on the bank next time we go.
She hooked a 9lb fully scaled mirror off the top at Harry’s with bread after watching your video. She was shaking for hours afterwards with adrenaline and now she won’t stop until she bags one of the barbel. Keep up the good work and thank you for inspiring the next generation. ❤

Proper days fishing westy thats how we learned the art .watercraft ,mixing methods and seeing what they wanted .commercial bath tubs full of carp offer good sport ,but u may as well go to supermarket and lob a tenner at the fishmonger and buy one .
Westy strikes again with the 8 mm wafters catching the carp . In that weather also thought it was bad working in it now and again cutting materials . But perseverance paid off for you . Well done

It's right when they say a change is as good as a rest eh mate, nothing wrong with trying the cage feeder,would like to see you and Dad having a day on the pike and perch wherever if Dad's ok with the weather,us oldies have to watch it in winter y'know.hehe

great vlog i think when weather is as bad as it was and bites are tough to come by you do try all tactics you can its so easy to have rods out don't change things just sit under the brolly good on you westy keep going cheers

Hi Matt, armed with the knowledge of it being a bit of a Pike hole - I would have bought a few Supermarket sprats (& a bit of wire trace) for the sleeper rod, just for the novelty value & a change from the usual Carp.
Yes probably should have ! Just didn’t have time to pick up the gear only learned about the pike the previous day

nice common matt....natural venues are always tough..matt... but personaly there my fave waters as like the challenge... using ya watercraft to work it all out...and they have a bit of mystery about em....tight lines to you and ya dad ..until next time...

New to using the clip. I am always afraid of clipping up and gettingg a fish that makes a dash. Love to get a notification of another one of your videos. Have never fished with a feeder yet, so learned a lot today. Thanks for that. Well done for braving the weather and I was pleased to see you were rewarded with some cracking fish.

The clip is something I don’t really use in most situations unless it’s a big lake. Most of the time in commercials there is no need and can definitely lose you fish, you get a big carp on and it will just break you if you don’t get it out the clip FAST. There are benefits to fishing accurately but most of the time I like to try different spots and I’m happy to cast around until I find the fish then cast to that rough area. 🎣👍🏻

Used to be full of tench ,I’ve fished it in worse conditions than that .We had thunder and lightning one morning that hit the power lines that go over the lodge and it snapped the cable which proceeded to spark all day in the wet tree 😳😳probably not the best idea to have 13m of pole in my hands at the time😂😂

Hi Westy, the guy who you called the bailiff is Ian who owns the lodge, there is also a small tackle and bait shop as you come out, the water is full of decent fish of all species, some decent tench come out in the summer towards the top end, it's a cracking natural fishery, great videos keep it up 👍

@@WestysAngling Predator time now . Been doing well on the canals but lost absolute animal of a perch to a snag 😭. I come to love the harder natural venues. You never know what your going to catch.

Never heard of this fishery, but I’ll definitely be giving it a go. As you say, it’s good to try harder waters as you can hone/improve your general all round skills - after all, it’s called fishing not catching. As always, great video.👍🏻🎣

Nice Unit .Time & effort lead to reward Wafters do actually work on natural venues just as well as they do on commercials I think the metal pins do make a wafter into a washter (non wafting ) depending on the hook size you are using
Method feeder more productive??? I think the rain had got to the brain mate 😂.
Where do you dry your gear out, that's one reason I tend not to go if it's going to be wet.
And, like they say, it's called angling, not catching, so it was a most enjoyable watch.
Don’t think there was much brain to begin with mate 😂 in the garage, usually just get in open everything out and leave it a few days !
Think you need a better umbrella westy the one you have don't give much cover
