This time of year also maggots and worm. I don’t use a lot of meat most places don’t allow it. Keep it simple . Thanks for commenting buddy 👍🏻👌🏻

    Oh by the way my bag of feeders if bigger than yours lol.

      Haha I love that Neil ! It’s not the size of the bag of feeders it’s how you use them 😉 honestly I don’t seem to do as well off any of the other feeders as I do on the banjos and methods. I have caught on the maggot feeder but I think with it being bottom weighted it doesn’t sit right in the water . Also the cadge on the maggot feeders seem to break often. I’m going to do more cadge and maggot feeder fishing in winter 👌🏻 thanks for commenting Neil !

    So what size tip would you use for the 45 gram feeder ?

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  2 года назад +1

      Great question Paul ! Heaviest one you have, it’s not too important If you are fishing short distances it’s more the casting that would put pressure on the tip. On those rods I’m using a 1.5oz and a 2oz. I wouldn’t like to cast a loaded 45g feeder on anything lighter than that ! Though you can see more indications on a lighter tip, I don’t think that’s so important fishing this way as the fish are self hooking against the feeder weight anyway.

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  2 года назад +2

      I actually think weirdly they seem to go for used wafters quicker than fresh wafters !!! Just what I have found 🤣 bit of fish slime gets them going !

      @@WestysAngling I might only use three or four wafters in a five hour match. Only change them when fallen off from disgorging. I usually use a maggot or two on 16 hook as well as 6mm choc/orange wafter but always worried it will be too heavy and won’t waft.

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  2 года назад +1

      Daiwa sensor Gary! Always. In my opinion the best line out there! Stay away from the hyper sensor as it’s got less stretch. Summer method feeder fishing for carp 10lb breaking strain and winter 8lb. If I had to choose one for year round fishing I’d go with the 8lb breaking strain 👍🏻

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  2 года назад

      @@garyturton6967 all lines can do that for a couple of reasons! The first one is … and I know this may sound ridiculous but it does make a difference… when spooling up a new line- the direction you take the line off the spool (for example a lot of the time you should take it from the bottom of the daiwa sensor spools rather than the top). If you spool a reel up the wrong way it can cause coils. Matthew Collins made a great video on it on RUclips. Also make sure you are winding line on to the spool under tension and soak the new spool a wile first 👌🏻 hope this helps. Coils can be a pain . You can fix it on yours by pulling 20 ft of line off your reel and stretching it out over the bank or your garden .
