Thanks for the really good tips. I've just started method feeder, had a good 1st session, but advice like this is priceless.
Love the video's mate but prefer you fishing natural lakes and rivers. Commercials don't float my boat.
Dont waste that water put it in a plastic tub then throw it into your margin, the amount of fish that come to investigate that smell is absolutely crazy, don't forget they know the smell of pellets AND your added flavourings
Thanks for the tips about cage feeders I’ve just started feeder fishing 🎣 as I’m old school float fishing is my game but I’m starting to do more feeder fishing thanks again and say hi to your dad all the best 👍
Will do matey ! You are welcome
Paul I am new to method feeder fishing. I have been using sonubaits wowsers and had some good success.i am just wondering what else I can use as bait, I use cat meat on my local commercial would this work?
Hi Greg ! My name is Matt, Paul is my dad ☺️ I really rate Sonubaits like you… specifically the pink washed out ! Corn would be my other favourite choice. This time of year also maggots and worm. I don’t use a lot of meat most places don’t allow it. Keep it simple . Thanks for commenting buddy 👍🏻👌🏻
8lb min reel line 4 to 6lb hooklink carp aint finiky
This is getting to be a very good site. Now you are explaining more and the camera work is better. Love the feeder fishing, want to see more. Keep going as I have dropped some sites and added yours as a favourite.personally, not interested in cat fishing or pike or even pole fishing, but will keep watching rod work 👍
Thanks Paul ! Really nice to hear! I do a lot of feeder fishing so will be a lot of that to come. I just have to mix the channel up a bit 😂 do different things etc but feeder fishing does seem to be most popular on RUclips !
Agreed.. explains things very well.
Awesome buddy .I’ve ordered some pellets, will try that on my new feeder rod .. great vid cheers mark cheers Chris & Sam
My best hook bait is 8mm pineapple wafters !

Have you had any tench out of harrys
No Tench Ray ! High heyes lake 3 for tench 👍🏻
Westy when will you be doing more new videos please.
Weekly Ste! Launched one yesterday 👌🏻
Pellets Sonubaits? did subscribe.
They where probably sonubaits yes !
Tight lines and i'll give you a free tip:Drink tea instead of coffee, at least you in England have quality and good teas.
Do the feeders come with the hook insert and everything else on it
Hi I love watching your videos so thank you, just a small whinge not everyone who fishes are ‘ boys’ .Thank you
If you watch a few more of my videos I more often than not use the term guys as a reference to both sexes. Or folks. I have a large number of long term female subscribers.
Like yourself I,ve got a great big container full of the ICS feeders and when i brought the range (£200 worth) i got a small selection of all of them. Most of which i use and they all work fine apart from the maggot feeder.I just can,t get them to work for me.I wonder of you have had much joy with them. Please be honest if you think they are any good.
Oh by the way my bag of feeders if bigger than yours lol.
Cheers Neil
Haha I love that Neil ! It’s not the size of the bag of feeders it’s how you use them 😉 honestly I don’t seem to do as well off any of the other feeders as I do on the banjos and methods. I have caught on the maggot feeder but I think with it being bottom weighted it doesn’t sit right in the water . Also the cadge on the maggot feeders seem to break often. I’m going to do more cadge and maggot feeder fishing in winter 👌🏻 thanks for commenting Neil !
Cracking gonk that last fish. I’ve done the same. 10mm wafter and a gudgeon, brilliant isn’t it. 😂😂😂
😂😂 they still pull the tip round a lot of the time !
Hiya,In one of your videos you use aquastim for method what flavour was the method pellets and the wafters you used
F1 sweet
What's the pond fishing like at the minute mate
Stocked with lots of small mirrors, kinda ruined the balance of the fishing. Going to give it 12 months before I go again
Thanks for the reply
Where is fishing good at the minute , I live in Atherton inbetween Wigan and manchester
Oh.. some tips on actual filming your videos would be awesome 😂 I'm very new to it using a Samsung s20 chest mount and power pack. Gotta start somewhere 🤷♂️ gopro next on list.. info on good equipment would be good. All the best.
Haha I’m all gear no idea pal 😉 I have a go pro hero 9 and Panasonic GH5- II I use for the high quality stuff. Editing on a MacBook and using Final Cut Pro. But yes just starting is the main thing I have watched a couple of your vids they are good ! To the point and lots of action 👌🏻 I learned very quickly that head mounts tend to get better shots (if you are willing to look silly with a camera on your head) 😉
@@WestysAngling yea I'm gonna get a gopro and head mount when I can 👍 atm I'm just sort of learning. More of just a hobby doing my hobby 🤷♂️ been looking at the gopro 9 too so might end up going with that one.. your videos are really good, you are good at explaining things really well. Got me looking forward to a carp session! I used to fish match style a lot but sort of go threw phases. My big carp rods havnt been out in years 😂 Thanks again 👍
Just joined and enjoying watching the different places you fish and how you go about it. You said you would make a video explaining the different types of method feeders and what you use them for if there was any interest, for me that would great and sure for a lot of other viewers if you could do a video on that. 👍
I will include that in one of my videos soon for you Rob ! Thanks for commenting 👌🏻🎣
Very informative, thank you :) Around the 30 minute mark you had bites on both rods, what happened to the one on the left? Once you caught the right one you had another coffee but never said anything lol... did it get away or was it a false bite? 😊
Thank you for watching !! Im not sure, this video was quite a while back and one of my first proper videos 😃 the more recent ones are a lot better 👌🏻🎣
@@WestysAngling Thanks for replying anyway..I'll try and watch your recent video's :)
Hi love your videos I’m learning quite a bit. Keep up the good work! Can I ask you a question about your adjustable rod rests that are attached to your seat. What make are they and can you offer me any advice on buying a set up similar to yours? I have a square legged chair so was wondering whether you’re set up would fit on my chair.
Regards, Dave.
Hi Dave ! Thanks for commenting. Well my feeder arm actually came with the Caperlan feeder chair, so it would be no good for that. Most feeder attachments are cylindrical legs, different thicknesses but usually come with inserts to account for this !
Thanks Westy for the reply.
hi buddy just subbed you after watching you and your dad when you swapped his bait bucket lol any info on your chair and accessories would be great as it is a good minimal set up again many thanks keep up the great uploads .
There is a review on the channel, caperlan feeder chair 🎣
@@WestysAngling many thanks buddy will have a look 👍
Korda bait up feeder ,primitive but very effective, very slack line so not to spook fish, also sometimes put a large drilled bullet between 2 float stops a couple of foot up from feeder to hold line to btm, NO feed, just the feeder content👍
What line should I get for f1 fishing
8lb Daiwa sensor will be ideal year round F1 line, I gave her carp up to 16lb on it !
So what size tip would you use for the 45 gram feeder ?
Great question Paul ! Heaviest one you have, it’s not too important If you are fishing short distances it’s more the casting that would put pressure on the tip. On those rods I’m using a 1.5oz and a 2oz. I wouldn’t like to cast a loaded 45g feeder on anything lighter than that ! Though you can see more indications on a lighter tip, I don’t think that’s so important fishing this way as the fish are self hooking against the feeder weight anyway.
Westy what oz size quiver tip do you use generally?
1.5/2oz for a 30-45g feeder 👍🏻
Nice 1 mate that's what I use, Great vids keep them coming👌
hi what rod are you using in this video?
Shimano speedmaster 9-11ft 👌🏻
How often do you change your wafter? Does the fish not coat it in slime or mask the smell?
I actually think weirdly they seem to go for used wafters quicker than fresh wafters !!! Just what I have found 🤣 bit of fish slime gets them going !
@@WestysAngling I might only use three or four wafters in a five hour match. Only change them when fallen off from disgorging. I usually use a maggot or two on 16 hook as well as 6mm choc/orange wafter but always worried it will be too heavy and won’t waft.
I’m sure it will still waft… but I’d be worried that may on occasion interfere with the self hooking aspect of the method. Who knows ! If it works keep doing it
@@WestysAngling Thanks for quick response. Not had any problems with the hooking of fish and always fruitful so ok.😃
I will have to give this a go in winter 👌🏻
Greetings from Romania!!!
Greetings Giovanni, nice to have you on the channel! Enjoy.
Hi buddy what line do you use, any preference
Daiwa sensor Gary! Always. In my opinion the best line out there! Stay away from the hyper sensor as it’s got less stretch. Summer method feeder fishing for carp 10lb breaking strain and winter 8lb. If I had to choose one for year round fishing I’d go with the 8lb breaking strain 👍🏻
Thaks for that buddy I must have the hyper one it kinks and curls I am getting fed up with it , looks like to tackle shop this new line required PS keep on doing the video's I find them useful
@@garyturton6967 all lines can do that for a couple of reasons! The first one is … and I know this may sound ridiculous but it does make a difference… when spooling up a new line- the direction you take the line off the spool (for example a lot of the time you should take it from the bottom of the daiwa sensor spools rather than the top). If you spool a reel up the wrong way it can cause coils. Matthew Collins made a great video on it on RUclips. Also make sure you are winding line on to the spool under tension and soak the new spool a wile first 👌🏻 hope this helps. Coils can be a pain . You can fix it on yours by pulling 20 ft of line off your reel and stretching it out over the bank or your garden .
@@WestysAngling Hi buddy thank you for reply, sorry I have taken time to get back in touch I've been away, I will certainly look into the suggestions you recommend , thank once again
@@garyturton6967 no problem Gary! Hope you had a nice break pal 👌🏻
Great little vid thx
What make and size are the rods your using. Cheers ste 😉
Hi Ste, thanks for commenting! Shimano speedmasters 9ft-12ft . Always use them in the 9ft configuration. I think 12 is to long for most commercial waters.
@@WestysAngling thx mate. I.l have to take a look at em next time im in tack shop 😉
I use the korda goo 😇 good stuff.. to cut 20lb daiwa sensor it must've been a freak incident 😂 .. its a solid line! I use 12lb and 15lb sensor for big carp fishing and never been snapped. Like your videos too 🎣
What’s your favourite flavour?
@@WestysAngling I'm a fan of the scopex one iv got.. iv not been carp fishing since before covid but im off to lindolm lakes Monday. Gonna fish loco lake all being well. Been concentrating on lure fishing latley but these vids make me want to get back on some carp for bites. Ladywood lakes is a good place for nice carp 👍 sure you know plenty anyway.
@@leafysfishing I have never been lure fishing ! I have the gear just wouldn’t know where to start haha I will try the Scopex cheers pal. Yes I was very shocked that the line went . Maybe it was knotted or it cut on something but the 20lb is like washing line mate 😂😂 I couldn’t believe it ! Im uploading a specimen video this week you will have to have a watch 👌🏻 a place in Warrington
@@WestysAngling I'll give it a watch I'm subbed now anyway, and lure fishing can become addictive and expensive real quick 😂 iv got 4 lure set ups from 1g to 7g to 5g to 35g ... just depends what size lures you use. I tend to use from 3g to 10g and 7cm to 11cm for the big perch I'm after but still pick up plenty of pike. My pb perch on lure is 2lb 7oz out local canal but I want a 3lber this year My missus had a bass on river ex! That's prob my best vid 😂 I had 4 pike and a perch she had a small pike and the bass. River ex and Exeter canal while on holiday in Devon (as you do lol) think it's a 10 min vid if you ever get chance. I was fishing for big perch then. Anyway all the best and I'll be watching the videos 👍
