    Regarding the fishing slowing down in the midday sun, it's usually because carp come up in the water in the sunshine. I always have a pellet waggler set up and switch to that when it gets bright, catch on the drop high in the water. Then once the sun disappears I go back to feeder. Not saying you won't catch on the bottom in the sunshine but it certainly slows down.

Going to have to try them wafters I normally use the sonibait ones too but tried some 6mm banoffee sinkers last week and they were really good on the method feeder. Some nice fish there eh westy. It strange fishin when dads only 30 ft away and not doing so well as yourself but thats fishin eh mate. Nice to see the flying bream seem to be getting into one or two fisheries now .

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад +1

      Bird-bream hybrids 😂 I know there is literally no logic too it, only thing I did differently was put a few handfuls of pellets in the margins before I started and was throwing them in over the top of the method every now and again so maybe I just got them competing in that area ? Who bloody knows 🎣🐟 🤷🏼

    Another great video, I really love waggler fishing, but you're gradually converting me to doing more on the method. By the way, if I sat as close as you do to the edge, then I'd definitely fall in 😂.

    • @WestysAngling
      @WestysAngling  Год назад +1

      😂 good point ! Probably no reason I can’t sit a little further back ! I do enjoy waggler fishing but it’s something I reserve for tough conditions, it seems like I always get a much better stamp of fish on the feeder. My dad used to fish waggler 98% of the time but saw how many I was catching on the feeder years ago and the size of them and he came round to the dark side eventually 😉😂🎣

    Really smashed it on that venue.👍🏻 As a test though, I’d have thought you’d have tried the trusty pink wafter, or sweetcorn, just to confirm if it was the cell wafters or ‘right swim/right day’ on doing so well? What bait was your Dad using? Maybe, if it wasn’t cell, that’s why he didn’t have such a productive day as you? Anyway, another great video Matt.👌🏻🎣

    Will be getting some wafters, that's a deffo.
    Did you use the clip on the MAP hybrid and did it work better. The Bream could have been hanging around ready to mop up fish eggs when the Carp spawned. Wondered if the red marks could have been from spawning.
    Stay safe and thanks

    Matt, I've sat on that exact peg (no 10) today for 7 hours. Caught 1 bream!!!!! Tried everything to no avail! That's fishing I suppose!!

      That’s so interesting 🤔 and my dad catching literally a hand full all day and I was absolutely bagging up. I think it’s because I was feeding heavier and I got them competing !

  • @scottchampion567

    I think that bream had a hair rig stuck in his mouth, maybe it irritated him and spooked him feeding on the pellets. watch it slo mo, looks like a light cream small boilie or something

    I also got those wafters, I'm not happy at all with them, mine are very bad balanced, they are floating even with a size 10 hook...

      @@WestysAngling I tried with a Guru Qm1 size 10 and a Drennan wide gape size 12 (very thick wire), maybe I've got a bad batch. I got almost no bites on those pink wafters and after changing to Sonubaits I got bites, this was suspicious so I tried at home and found out that the wafters were acting like a pop up.
      Btw I love the work you do here on RUclips, go on like this :)
