I tried to install the MyQ but can't find the HomeLink icon on my tesla screen. Do I need to install Tesla Homelink before the icon appears? if yes, then what is the essence of the myQ?
Can't believe Tesla charges $350 for this. When you buy a Lexus, they could send a technician to your home and set up the HomeLink garage door remote control for free.
Hey man, I think you just helped me solve my programing issue on my 24 Mx , it came with Hone link and Q…thank you I will let you know! RollingRob out in Missouri city 👍
Yeah that's horrible huh. For a GARAGE DOOR opener. Wtf. So dumb, don't they kown 85% of people have garages & want to park their tesla inside that garage. I guess it's always about EXTRA PROFIT . So SAD.
Standard mode is if you you have the remote to teach homelink. D-Mode is if you do not have the remote, and it will try till it figures it out with the garage door opener.
Issue is the auto open does not work as I drive up to the driveway, even at 50+ feet, but if I drive past my home it opens, but, there always is one, as I turn around and drive back, it now auto closes. Told Tesla needs more work on the software. Also turned off the folding mirrors, as I back into the garage and the geo fencing actually caused my mirrors to fold as I start to back into the garage. I have found on rain days the rear camera is not useful and living in the Seattle area that’s 2/3’s of the year and side cameras are not designed for low light levels.
@@DIYGEEKTEXAS hi, I have a 3 car garage, with 2 doors, from the street it’s about 35 feet or less to the garage door and another 9 feet to the opener. I even changed the distance for opening to 60+ same result. I actually drive up on to the sidewalk to turn out before I back into the garage. Tesla service could not help, besides did I setup the auto open property, they suggested a newer opener, I told them it was replace 2 years ago, with a lift master. Thanks
They are having lots of trouble with 2024 Tesla models not connecting-beware before you pay 350 dollars on Tesla website which is not a Tesla product!!! I had an utter nightmare on my new 2024 which was one of the first ones delivered here in CA - and had to revert to my old garage door remote, and my garage door opener is only 3 years old - something about rolling codes and new cars that does not work and nowhere to mount them. Tesla has really dropped the ball on the 2024 rollout, found out I have 2023 rear calipers rather than 2024's as they are very different in shape. Seems like they are using up old parts inventory on new cars wherever they can. If I had to do over again I would wait 1 year before buying a new Tesla and let them deal with all the complaints - all, mechanics not being trained properly and let them get all the bugs out before buying one.
They should disclosee that before you buying the car. I would not have purchase it if i knew i beed to shell put another 350$ for something that should be standard, because it simbolizes if they charge extra, they out for no good and just milk you as much as as possible. A honey trap scam. It shows it will just get worse down the line when wareanty expires with repairs etc

Could not have completed this task successfully without this video! TY.
Just brought home a new model S. Followed the video, it helped. BTW it's free. Works. Didn't need a technician.

How many garages can it support?

Thx for this guide. 👍
very helpful, thank you for creating and sharing

Yeah but when you buy a Lexus you pay through the nose for extras. Nearly everything is included with a Tesla. Ok, not Homelink. But everything else.
Lexus stands for Luxury Exports to US. Tesla if not the original with free supercharging is rip off
Great video thanks
Thank you !!! just got a 2018 model 3 and I couldn't figure it out.

I’m a little disappointed that my 2024 model 3 performance doesn’t have this feature $60k and I need to pay another $350???

Hmm I wonder if the your issue have anything to do with garage to driveway layout

For $350 I’ll just stick to the garage door opener that’s barely bigger than my thumb on my visor 😂
I guess you replaced your broken garage door remote with homelink just in time 😂😂😂
You have to pay additional for that OMG
Yea, ford charges $500 for the same thing.
It's free with MS and MX.
what's that

@@nickm2355 Nice! I love the tech and innovation but prefer smooth likes, not angles. I have a Model S Plaid. Love it!
i never paid for this with my 2019 model 3...
My 2018 came with it , well maybe the previous owner payed for it
It was a standard feature until tesla decided to start charging for it.

The fk.. gotta pay for something that SHOULD be included?😮
I WISH EVERY ONE WHO POST VIDEO JUST TO GET TO THE POINT. NOBODY HAVE TIME TO LISTN TO YOUR LIFE STORY
Tesla doesn’t charge for this feature, I’m sure they charge to set it up.
