As a professional pet sitter, now specializing in cats because I'm getting too old to walk dogs, I particularly appreciate this video. While normally I would say you should have gone to a shelter or rescue instead of a breeder to buy a cat, obviously THIS cat needed someone with your level of understanding in order to heal. He was probably used as a breeding male, and kept in a cage with a wire floor, which would explain his odd walk. Danish, he is so grateful to you for saving his life and giving him a chance to be a real cat. Thank you, from him and from all of us who love cats. I look forward to seeing him beside you in future videos. Also, you have helped heal me over the last few months. Covert narcissist mother. Father who was only interested in his son. Brother who physically and mentally abused me, taking his cues from his parents. Even though I see a psychologist regularly, I didn't put the pieces together until I started watching your videos and realized validation and why I couldn't just get over it. So thank you. I depend on you, although not as much as your lovely cat does. 😸

Oh Danish 😥 I am so sorry that Ben had to go through this. It is heart breaking that some humans think that they can abusive these wonderful, trusting little soles. I love fur babies, and since childhood have rescued several. I just rescued a beautiful cat from a sad situation. He is so loving, gentle, and purrs all the time. I noticed that he had some issues with one eye, it looks like an injury....injuries have happened to him. He did not even know what toys or playing were! I could go on and on about "Charley". He is my Angel. 🙂

I've been watching animal rescue videos for a couple years now as therapy. Daily brushings could go a long way to building the relationship. I had a long haired cat in my youth, and my mom brushed her every day at feeding while she ate, and then I gave her a lot of second brushings. She never tired of it. I could just stare at Ben all day. He's a relaxing cat to watch. Looks like your presence comforts him, and maybe he in some way knows what you're talking about.

What a heartbreaking-yet-deeply inspiring story, Danish! You and Ben miirror each other, as ur experiences of abuse reflects his own and vice versa. It was divine fate that brought you two together, and your love, patience, and kindness made him feel safe enough to take a chance with you, to trust you, and start to heal and care for himself. This story is so humbling and shows how powerful love is. Thank you so much for sharing this, Danish; i adore this video, and tell Ben he has over 80k friends, as you do, who support and care so much for him! Warm hugs and kisses to you both!

UNBELIEVABLE!! At 10:20 for the first time in the whole video, just as you said the words, "He taught me to be gentle", he sticks his paw out towards you and does a quick, loving, double tap with his paw and pulls it back and resettles. He then visually scoots a bit closer to you. HE IS SO GRATEFUL to you Ben! It's dual saving Grace for the 2 of you to find each other. It was MEANT TO BE! FABULOUS!! That's a "CLIP", lol. Thank you BOTH for helping us.

My cat Rocco is a narc abuse recovery therapist. I was going through a time when my body was like a torture chamber because of control tactics placed in me by a narc.
Finally I broke down & cried. Rocco started rubbing his cheek against my face non stop. That is a cat's way of rubbing their scent hormones on who ever they love or claim as their own. (I have seen a cat rub her cheek hormones on a box that was a bed for her kittens.)
I snapped into a better reality because Rocco is a highly spiritual being whose actions totally counteracted the narc's behavior. He changed my focus & I realized he was there to support me.
There is something wrong with Rocco because he is 7 1/2 months old but is the size of a three month old. Otherwise he is smart & fast but has not grown properly. He is fond of climbing up my clothes & perching on my shoulder.. He proved he was a lot more than I had been expecting. Somehow he helped me tremendously.
Cats are mysterious & intriguing. It would be interesting if we could have the psychic ability to know what they are thinking.

It's not just cats. We got a full blooded Cocker Spaniel through a friend. This poor dog was only 2 and we were his 4th or 5th home. He had already been in the pound twice. My friend didn't bother to tell me he had emotional problems, would bite, and would actually attack you if he felt threatened. Otherwise, he was a very gentle and loving dog. He didn't really like my spouse (the narc). Dogs are smart.
One day something had happened (nothing to do with the narc) and I was sitting on the bed, the dog sitting on the bed next to me. I was crying uncontrollably. He watched me for about 30 seconds, then he put his paw on my knee and left it there, while looking me in the eye. Like he was telling me everything was ok and we'd get through it together. --- We did.
He was 18 when he died of natural causes, at home. We weren't home, at the time and found him when we got back. I still miss him sitting on my lap.

@@sickofcrap8992 That is a very touching story. He was very fortunate to end up with you. He must have had a horrible life in the past.
Someone gave my daughter a puppy and he went over to try to eat out of another dog's feed bowl. The dog attacked him and bit him with a fang that went through his pallet. He hurt too bad to eat & I took him to the vet for antibiotics. After that he grew into a big dog and always ferociously attacked any dog or person who got close to his food.

COMPASSIONATE HORSE SHAWNA: Shawna was another horse that didn't want to be ridden. She had a free spirit & liked to jump over fences. My brother was riding her through a field & was near a tree stump. Shawna bucked him off onto the tree stump. I was told to not ride her.
Not long after that I sneaked off & rode her bareback. We were going down through a gully & it scared the heck out of an owl roosting in a tree. The owl flew off and it scared Shawna so bad that she took off at a right angle and went up the side of the gully. I fell off of her back side before she reached the top of the gully. I fell about 8 feet down & lie on the ground. Shawna came back (like Lucy) and gave me a close examination. Then she held absolutely still so I could mount her & go home. This became another secret I never told my family.
This was another life lesson on true compassion. It stands out as a major contrast to the cruelty I have seen in humans.

I had a young adult cat for a short time. She was the size of a large kitten... just little miss petite. She already had her first litter, the vet told me she'd done nursing, and I had her neutered...I knew who her sire was...he was a lovely male who once belonged to a neighbor whose most recent hubby tossed him out. He was also a very petite male adult... the size of a yearling.
I think more than likely the runt of a litter. All of Amos' offspring were small adults.

Poor Ben, but so beautiful anyway, he is a survivor. Cats to me are little people in fur coats, with the same emotions as us. Cats are the top predators on earth, only second to mankind. My little female cat chased a huge dog away from me in my yard instantly when it approached me. She was fearless because she loves me so much and shows me every day and night by always being affectionate and close to me. When I sleep she will come and put her little paw right in my palm and keep it there for a long time. She holds my hand when I sleep! ....... Such a shame when awful people mistreat these beautiful and very intelligent creatures, so sad. The waving paw Chinese cat toy in restaurants is a tribute to a Chinese emperor's life being saved by his cat alerting him to invaders in his palace hundreds of years ago. His cat woke him up and he was able to escape to safety.

Ben's story is similar to the story of the cat that was severely neglected by my father, whom I took and cared for and slowly he has come to trust me and settle in with my other cats. He passed away in the meantime (he was old) but I'm glad we took him in to enjoy the last part of his life in peace and surrounded by lots of love. I find it incomprehensible how some 'people' treat animals and it can really make me sad. All my life I have always had cats (and formerly 2 dogs), there is nothing more beautiful and beneficial than the presence of animals, who love you unconditionally. My cats help me a lot in processing my traumas and I can't imagine that you would have to be cruel to them. My cats are my everything! Ben is a great sweetheart and I am very happy for him that you have taken him under your wing, he couldn't have done better, luckily there are still good people in the world! I have a black female kitty that I rescued last year, she was in much the same shape as Ben was , hiding always , she would sleep under the bed , she was even scared to eat . It's now just over a year later and she's completely transformed. Chloe is my dinner partner ☺️ she makes sure I eat at the same time everyday. My other rescue , a senior male who was abandoned by his owner's has also taken it upon himself to ensure I have a bedtime routine, he's also protective of me . When the Narc goes into one of his rages , my sweet boy Berb comes and stands or sits right next to me so that I know I am not alone .

Such an inspirational story and I was able to relate whole-heartedly. I have a similar story, only with a big dog. One day the Vet clinic called me and asked if I would take an abused dog who was confiscated from his family by the police. I already had 7 dogs... what's one more, I thought?! Poor Bo. When I first saw him he was a disaster. The teenagers had used him as bee-bee gun target practice and had shot him in the testicles so many times they were shredded and infected. Bee-Bees were everywhere on his body under the skin. He was a walking skeleton and had been hit in the head so much his gait was off and he couldn't process eye coordination properly. "Terrified" was his personality. It ends up being a happy story though, and by the time he passed away of old age about 15 years later he gave no indication that he even remembered that he had ever been abused. My method of teaching an abused dog to overcome fear of abuse is to turn the cruel actions into a game. This works for dogs... not so much for cats. Slowly, slowly, slowly... over the course of about a year, I make the hitting action or kicking action represent "play-time" instead of "cower-time". Bo eventually stopped ducking when I would quickly fling my hand towards his head, and stopped cringing whenever I would quickly swing my foot towards his ribs. The "head-smack" instead, began to be an indication of fun and he knew that meant it was time to wrestle and play tug-of-war or fetch with lots of ear-scratches. The "kick" began to mean "ahhhh, tummy rubs with a foot! Yes, Yes a little to the left, please!" It's a difficult road to rehab an abused animal, but not impossible. Never impossible.

He really love you and is so thankful to you, all that slow blink and so gentle and calmly. Maybe he senses something special when you're about to film. I love cats too, I like dogs also of course

Thank you. So beautiful. I am crying a little because I have a dog for 14 years, and I wish I had the evidence but they tried to harm her. I thought they loved her too. I would leave her alone with them sometimes. She was different after. She is my best friend. I just lay with her, she puts her head in the crook of my arm, or on my chest at night. When I yawn, she yawns. Pure light amongst pure evil. She saved my life, I know, more than once. Never aggressive, not much of a barker, unless it matters. She has given gutteral growls as a warning around only 2 people i can think of through the years. And she is a "pitbull" mix. Stereotypically aggressive.

That was a wonderful and inspiring story. I'm so happy that you and Ben found each other. You saved his sad little life that he had. It's very cool that he knows when you're going to do a video. I'm assuming he's supporting you in doing this difficult work. I love long-haired cats. They are so sweet and playful their whole lives. I had a cat that was similar to this about 13 years ago. He was the most gentle cat I ever had the privilege of knowing. I'm sure he had been abused as a kitten, but he trusted me completely. He would let me carry him around in my arms like a baby on his back, and he loved it when we rubbed his belly. He would make biscuits in the air as we rubbed his belly. He even slept on a pillow in between us at night like he was human. He was the coolest animal ever. He followed me around everywhere also. Then my narcissistic father abused him and my 3 year old son for 2 days while we were moving from one city to another. Neither of them were the same afterward. I didn't know what had happened to them. My son was too scared to tell us. He finally told us about the whole ordeal a couple of months ago, after we had gone no contact with them. My cat ran away a couple of years later after the torture episode. We think the father in law (covert narco) let him out in the middle of the night on purpose because no one else in the house would do that. We never saw him again. He didn't deserve that, and we still think about him and miss him dearly. I can't imagine what Ben went through. Danish, you're a wonderful person for saving the sweet meow meows. :) Bless you sir.

This video needs more views! The awareness on how animals suffer because of narcs really needs to increase. People dont think when animals behave negativity, nothing of it when easily those are warning signs. danger danger! my 1 cat almost died because of the trauma a narc neighbor was inflicting.

It’s sad when I heard what he went through before Danish adopted him. Hearing his story did give me hope to not give up especially after going through a lot of trauma in the past
    I hope I can heal too ❤️‍🩹
