    I try and never forget how much work Ice fishing is. For every 1 hour of fishing there's 10 hours of Prep, Driving, moving, drilling, walking, load, unloading, putting away, drying out, fish cleaning, etc etc etc.

    • @FarNorthAnglers
      @FarNorthAnglers 5 месяцев назад +3

      Idk about all that but once I have my gear set up and shit for the season and the otter is hooked to the sled only thing I gotta do is pull my shit into my heated garage maybe tie a new leader on a tip up every now and again. I’d say for every hour fishing you maybe have 10 mins of prep per hour. If I have a 5 hour outing I need 20-30 mins to fix my gear up b

    • @AlexTimm
      @AlexTimm  5 месяцев назад

      @@FarNorthAnglers You are dialed then for sure, nice! Do you live close enough to a lake that you just ride the sled to the lake, or do you have a big enough trailer you can just pull in and out? I'm always looking for improvement in my setup time

    • @AlexTimm
      @AlexTimm  5 месяцев назад

      I agree, its a lot of work for sure, trying to always continue being more efficient, but then I try new gear and then I slow down again 🤣

    The Core Ice Hybrid Skid Series models are outstanding wheelhouses! When did you film this footage? Do you use Milwaukee tools? There are numerous storing options in the Milwaukee Packout modular storage system product line. Could potentially be beneficial for storing a portion of your gear. I use the Milwaukee mounting plates inside my sleds to lock down a decent portion of my gear. Thank you for the 'Timm10' Amped Outdoors promo code as well. I'm now using 2 Amped Outdoor 12V 15Ah batteries with the Ice Hole Power Deluxe box.

      @AlexTimm  5 месяцев назад

      This was New Year's weekend. I do use Milwaukee power tools, love them. That is a really good idea with using their modular packout system, I'll have to play around with it and see what I can come up with. Super smart. Heck yeah man, glad the promo code helped you out, and agree the Core Ice Hybrid houses especially on years like this are a game changer! And I don't throw 'game changer' out there too often

    You don’t need to unhook from the tow vehicle to go in and out of skid mode.

    • @AlexTimm
      @AlexTimm  5 месяцев назад

      Great callout, except I do because the front Jack needs to get higher than the hitch on my ATV to get the pin in and out of the wheels if that makes sense

    • @FeelGoodFirewood-so9ov
      @FeelGoodFirewood-so9ov 5 месяцев назад +1

      Next time you have it hooked your wheeler, put the front jack down like you’re going to disconnect. At some point you should be you will be able to pull the pins as you put the jack down. Your just looking for the pint that the jack is supporting the weight and not the tow vehicle. If you go to high with it connected it will pull up on the suspension and you will not be able to pull the pins either.

    • @AlexTimm
      @AlexTimm  5 месяцев назад

      You are right, thank you! The problem is I was only removing one of the front pins, so that the tongue could only freely articulate up (not down), I need to pull both and it can freely go up and down. Thanks! You saved me time on every future trip!

    If the ice were to break, it would probably be around the ice house and not underneath it, huh..

    • @AlexTimm
      @AlexTimm  4 месяца назад

      Typically when the ice breaks and a vehicle or house goes in the break is around the perimeter of the areas with the most pressure on the ice, and the hole it makes is almost exactly that if the object going in. Cracking sometimes will start under the object, and sometimes next to it
