- Complete removal of stock radio and installation of Pioneer double DIN unit. Hopefully this educational video will be helpful to other folks. I received no compensation for this video. A little addendum: I ran the microphone wire under the dash, up under the door post, then across to clip on the visor, and secured with short zip ties. Please rate my video and leave comments. :-)

Nearly three years later and I had gotten an Edge of my own and need to change my stereo. This video was way better than all of the others on RUclips. If you can do it, I've got good faith that I can take care on my end. Thanks for the video.
updates??? how’d it go bro
@@vincent8313 It was fine. Nearly no issues.
You mamm are awesome, I need to put a stereo in my mom's edge and needed some instructions. The first video I watched was a joke. He just showed the install equipment you needed to buy and showed it out in. I was mad but fortunately your video was next and it showed me everything I had questions on! Thank you!
Karen, you are awesome! We loved your video and were so glad we could help! We've shared it as inspiration for others. :-)
I was gifted a 2007 ford edge recently and the radio needs replacing! Thank you for your video 🙏🏾
Love the step-by-step. The other vids were short and sweet, but didn't show the challenges with the wiring kit. Just wanted to check it out before I order anything so I can get the right kits. Thanks for sharing.
Btw - like your music selections too!
Thank you Karen! You helped me install. I paused and watched this all the way through!! Working great!!
This Is Like...1 Of The BEST Videos Ever 😂😂😂
If you find my video helpful, please like and share. :-)
Great job! Your attention to detail was very well done! Your video provides me the background I need to do it myself which is what I was looking for. Thanks!
You did an absolutely BOSS job on your installation. Great stereo pick and excellent communication. I always buy pioneer normally but right now I am trying one of the new android radio's just because you can get everything under the sun (bluetooth, navigation, screen mirroring, app installs, steering wheel controls, usb , 7" screen) for under 150 bucks. I am hoping I don't regret the quality compromise.
Michael Jude how did it work out?
Update?
Thank you for this video Karen!!!! So helpful in replacing the radio in our Edge.
Very helpful, gave me the confidence to try it myself!!
Great job, this is actually a very good video of an install !!!
Thanks so much for this video, you're an absolute inspiration! I'm ordering my kit next week.
Excellent video on the installation!!! Thank you for the video!!
One word. Excellent!
Love ur video great job I’m doing the same install with a Jensen navigation unit from crutchfield for my 2010 edge
Mrs Ladie th blue cable is for the power for amplifier if you have if not just cover whit tape and good to go but i like you video i learn from you thanks
Amazing job.
It cost $224.44 to do this install. Since then I have upgraded to a unit that supports my back-up camera. Pioneer MVH-2400NEX 2. I was able to use the same connections.
Love this video ❤❤ I'm inspired this was pretty cool
You're so badass. I love it
Thanks for the upload you did a good job
Love her personality
What did this cost all together? And great video by the way!
My sister just purchased a 2010 Ford Edge that does not have Sync, so she can't do hands free calls. I'm hoping your video will help me find a way to help her have the hands free calling even though she does not have the controls on the steering wheel.
I use the Windows Nokia 920 which features Cortana. It establishes a bluetooth connection with the radio. I don't have "Sync" but that works perfectly for me. I can answer text messages and calls without touching the phone. I hope this is helpful. The critical factor is having a blue tooth connection with the phone.
If your aftermarket stereo has bluetooth support for phone calls then your good the support has nothing to do with the car's systems that has to do with the stereo you're putting in
Very nice job. You did a great job
Thank you.
on your other video, when you replaced the stereo, you didnt hook up the remote wire....but you hooked up the subwoofer. how did you get any sound out of the subwoofer, if you didnt hook up the remote that turns on the amplifier??? did i miss something, or your vehicle didn't have a factory subwoofer??
Good catch! I had to go back and hook up the blue wires. I didn't know what it was the first time, and I contacted Crutchfield and they walked me through it. I thought it was for a rear controller, which I don't have in my Edge.
Awesome and helpful video. Thank you!
I found this very helpful but have a question. This radio does offer to run the tv in the back? I bought my 08 edge 3 months ago and it has a jvc in it which is horrible. So if I order this pioneer everything I need comes in the box?
I recommend you contact Crutchfield to ask about the TV. They provide excellent customer service/advice.
u da real MVP karen
Thank you so much.
What website did you purchase that from?

Amazing job!!! :)
I rarely listen to AM radio, and I discovered recently I had not hooked up the antenna wire to activate the AM band. I had to pull the radio and connect the blue wire with white tracer from the RadioPro unit that was factory tagged "System Remote Control" to the blue wire on the factory harness. Put it all back together and AM works great. If you have this problem, call Crutchfield, they explained exactly what I needed to do. 800-955-9091
Nice Job
Can you post the link for the package you purchase please??

Hello Karen, after this installation do ALL of your steering wheel controls still work?
Yes. The steering wheel controls work fine. You will note that I bought an extra component to connect them with. You will see it in the video. It is the Radio Pro 4.
@@karenhowell7850 Do you still have Microsoft Sync or has it been disabled due to this installation?
@@alexsterling2978 07 didnt have sync
Hello, good day , could you explain how did for the programming of the steering wheel controls ? please helpmeeee
See 1:28 for the Radio control interface. You need this part.
See 9:55. You have to turn the little wheel on the Radio Control Interface to the proper setting. In my case, the chart from Radio Pro (which was in the box) said 7 was the correct setting. I turned the wheel with a small screwdriver. I didn't have to do any "programming" for it. It was basically "plug and pray"
If you still have problems with it, Crutchfield is a GREAT resource. If you bought your unit there, call them and they'll help you. 844-287-4563
how did you connect your antenna adapter? having difficulties with my pioneer.
Watch at 15:04. It was difficult to insert, but it went in fine. Initially, the other end plugs in to the antenna wire on your vehicle. Remember, you pulled that out of your stock radio.
The antenna adapter unboxing is at 2:20 ish
How did you run the mic wire up to the visor? I can't figure out how to remove the dash
under the dash and across to the trim by the door then up in the door trim
@@karenhowell7850 my guy I figured it out
Did ur factory speaker work for voice after u were done
Yes. The factory speakers worked fine with the phone. The radio included a microphone as well.
@@karenhowell7850great video! quick question, I have a 2010 edge, and am about to install a Sony, did you have to install the microphone or could you use the factory Ford one?
@@daveecklund3369 I installed the microphone that came with the radio.
Can you send the link for where you purchased? I have an 08 Ford Edge and I am having a hard time finding a stereo or a company that’ll give me an install for a reasonable price
