That Mateus-solo was probably one of the best i've heard in a long long time. Melodic, mature and choppy!
Mature is a great word for it. Sometimes highly technical guitarists can sound overbearing. Not only was this performance technical, but it showed a sense of feel and poise that very few could pull off.

Mateus plays in his own league but this chemistry is magic. Really like his phrasing, ideas, virtuosity , emotional expression and positive connection to the others. Also his chordwork from 4.25…great stuff and a peaceful message in a hard time. Music is it!

That was just incredible to hear. Mateus blended in so well with the sound - and his solo was unironically one of the best I've heard in the last five years - possible ever. Not unnecessarily flashy, but oh-so-tasty.

Everything about this is perfection. A great example of good balance of everyone in the band, no one was too overwhelming and nothing felt incomplete. I love the arrangement so much!
That solo by Mateus ❤ ... it just builds and gets better step by step. Tasty melodic choices, gradually getting bigger until shred/singing at the end - it has everything!

Can't seem to stop watching this. The guitar work is incredible, and so is all the other musicianship, including the singing. And maybe most incredible-it's a real, live recording. The problem with popular music is that most folks don't have a clue about what goes into it and they only respond to the "radio version". This is vastly superior. Thanks guys, it's inspiring!

We owe a lot to Martin Miller for this project. Gorgeous duo.. I remember a period when Mateus gave up the guitar for a long time. I never understood why. Until I live it myself.. but it's playing again and it's incredible..
