Now THIS is an original and dynamic interpretation. The voice is there, she focuses on key words and and uses them to produce a truly unique take on the song. I had it playing in the background and had to stop what I was doing and pay attention, it was that good.
For real. I've had a terrible time connecting with pretty much any Cold Play song, but then I see reinterpretations like this and I think, "Maybe that wanker actually knows how to write a song or two."
That was maybe the most impressive fusion of soul with pop music I think I've seen. Amazing band brings out the power in performers like her. There's not much precedent for this stuff and I love it. I love it.
