Superman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, high school students living in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1933.

I like it in a naive, childlike fashion. DC is getting back to the fantasy and not trying to be so dismal or dark. I often think that DC is more fantasy than science fiction anyway.

This was so good because Paul Dini helped write it. Ive said it before and I'll say it a million more times, He is thee best Superman writer of all. Paul Dini's Superman run and Batman run of the '90s to early '00s were the best in the history of both respective characters by far. And like Superman the animated series and Batman the animated series, It all shaped the modern dcu as we know it... Paul Dini's the best Superman writer there is. I loved how he helped Tomasi and Jurgens -- the best Superman writers of today -- write this awesome story that showed us what I always assumed, that there was always just one Superman. He just got all his memories back and remembered his younger days (New52 storyline days) and remembers his true self. This isn't about him "merging" with a New52 iteration of him. There WAS NO New52 Superman. He just didn't remember all of that. Which is what Reborn is all about like I said, he just remembers his true self. That's explained even further in the next action Comics story after this. Action Comics vol.4 , it explains and runs down his whole story from the beginning to now when he's talkin to kelex in the fortress of solitude. It explains better than they did here in Reborn that there never was 2 different guys, Like I said he just got all of his memories back here. He didn't just "merge" with another Superman..... there IS NO "New52 universe" , It's the same DC universe there has always been. It just has 10 years missing from it which Superman and everybody involved with him is no longer affected by.

With that last panel in the video zooming in on Mars, it's basically guaranteed to be Dr. Manhattan. At the end of Watchmen, he decided to make his home on Mars and began building whatever he saw fit.

Shazam didn't die he was there in darkseid war and flew off as a cliff hanger to what was supposed to be his series.
Shazam made an appearance in Hellblazer Rebirth #1.

glad to see superman doing well creatively and selling well as THE superhero he deserves nothing less.....DC rebirth as a whole for the most part has been very quality compared to some.....

For those of you who are still confused, Superman was split into two separate beings in order to keep him/them weak. These two halves manifested as the Pre and Post-Flashpoint versions of the Man of Steel. The whole concept is basically a reimagining of the infamous 1998 storyline, "Superman Red/Superman Blue." Though, I don't why Lois was split in two. Probably to keep both Supermen complacent.
Michael Rodriguez the Lois Lane reason seems dumb but the superman reason makes sense now that u mention that
Rob, extremely disappointed that you failed to touch on the colors used here. It's almost like Tomasi put another spin on Superman Red/Blue, where all the energy behind New 52 Superman was Red and Pre-new 52 Superman Blue. When rebirth first rolled around, Superman had a weird looking belt and blue boots. After the merging happened in this story, we finally got back Superman with red belt and red boots. It was really neato there.

Loved reborn and the whole tomasi run , if this keeps going this way it will be one of the best superman runs in the last 6 years.(looking forward to get all the trades once it ends.) superman and batman has always been my favorite heroes, superman winning by a little. but everytime I say that people dont get why. What sucks about the Merger between pre and new is Lex Luther.. How in New-52 Lex was trying to turn a new leaf, fighting for good and being a good guy.. but now having to merge with Pre-Lex merging with New Lex, undoubtedly he'd become a supervillian asap and no doubt this merger is what can lead to Lex becoming the new Darkseid as prophesied.

No. Not really. They did not "merge" , there NEVER a "New52 Superman" , NEVER a separate younger Superman . This was just Superman getting back all of his memories of his younger days, it's why Oz is always telling him "you and you're family are not what you think you are" .... what he means is he's NOT from a "doomed universe" or whatever. There IS NO New52 universe, This is all just the DC universe there has always been. It just has 10 years missing from it.... we thought Superman just wasn't affected by it and was from another universe or some shit, But here we learn he actually WAS affected by it just as much. Which is what Oz is telling him , he's not what he thinks he is... and like I said he is like finally restored here back to his true self and gets all of his memories back of his younger days. Superman vol.4 and Action Comics vol.4 which take place next after Reborn both tell exactly that even more clear than Reborn did here. It explains it better and further in action vol.4........ this wasn't "silly" lmao. Superman is by far the best thing in Rebirth. Pete Tomasi and dan Jurgens can write Superman better than almost anybody. Paul Dini is the only one I can think of that's a better Superman writer. Dini, Geoff Johns, Pete Tomasi, and Dan Jurgens have always been THEE Superman writers. They're the best there is. Dini helped write Reborn WITH Tomasi and Jurgens. Which is why it was so awesome.
