I don't really understand why you're making this so complicated. It's not. New 52 Superman existed and had his own distinct back story, and post crisis pre flashpoint Superman also existed with his own history. Whatever caused the New 52 to happen, whether it be Flashpoint or Dr. Manhattan, two distinct Supermen existed. Then New 52 Superman died and turned to energy, which later merged with pre flashpoint Superman, making an all new Superman with both histories existing in one person.
But it’s not both history’s in one it culmination of both origins making it one which means the timeline doesn’t add up because if he neve existed and simultaneously existed how does that make sense. New 52 Superman was macking with WW pretty hard yet he had a family with Lois at the same time. Like huh?

Pete Ross DID appear in N52. He made various appearances in Action Comics. Also the N52 wasn't thrown into the bin it's just that the continuity of Superman is now a combination of elements of the N52 AND Pre N52

The split Superman theory was perfectly fine, it fit with the N52/Rebirth landscape and allowed writers to have their younger, more inexperienced Clark but also the old one we know and love. I think it might have something to do with superboyprime, maybe he found a way to trap superboy outside of the current timeline? Remember he turned into time trapper and was the last surviving being in the dc universe? Maybe somewhere in that timeline he figured it all out. Who knows, only time can tell. I like the new 52 superman more than the pre-new 52 superman. He was refreshing, inexperience, unwise and does mistakes. He was basically superman in his first few years of being superman and had to learn through trial, tribulation and error so that he can learn, grow and develope to the superman we all know and love. But Hardcore superman fans have such a hard on to the old, tired and known superman of pre-52 that they didn't give the knew one a chance to grow and develope, granted some of the new 52 stories were bad but it didn't mean all in general were, there were some that was actually good. Superman Unchained was my personal favorite. Wish they didn't killed off new 52 supes, he's my favorite incarnation of superman.

If you look at how masterfully Star Wars has brought it's Star Wars Legends into the new Star Wars Cannon we will see it's echoes in DC Rebirth i personally think it's brilliant.

If Superman reborn is basically mixing together the pre-new 52 Superman with the new 52 Superman and considering Rob explained in the video that basically every encounter he had with his previous enemies is there... what does this mean for Lex Luthor? We saw Lex Luthor became a good guy in New 52 and I kinda like that, and as far as I know this reborn event is only affecting Superman, and so this is not affecting the rest of the New 52 universe (or shouldn't in my opinion, that's why I need help with this). The good guy new 52 Lex Luthor has been involved in other histories so far, so I can't really understand what an event like this Reborn means for him. Do we get the bad Lex Luthor back? Did this Reborn affected EVERYTHING in the New 52? If so, was it instant, or we'll see changes been implemented gradually? Damn... can't really understand what this means in the big schism... Pete Ross actually was a character, he was he only person who knew that Clark was Superman. Pete's kid was actually kidnapped by aliens but the Legion of Superheroes stopped him because Pete's kid was actually going to grow up with them and completely change their culture. Making Pete Ross go absolutely crazy.
I really don't think you would be confused about Superman and Action Comics. The comic books have text on the back of them that I'm sure explain what's going on in them. And also you could just search it online but that might be how you end up at this video.
The merging of the two Supermen brings a few questions to my mind: 1. Was Pre-New 52 Superman no longer there at the beginning, watching? 2. How old was Superman when the Justice League was formed? 3. When did Lois and Clark have Jonathan? 4. Is Convergence still a thing? 5. How old was he when he had Jonathan?
I honestly loved the idea of two Supermen being one (Only I wished the two conversed more and it looked like N52 Superman didn't have a choice in the fusion) I wanted his origin to be a fusion of Geoff Johns Secret Origins and Grant Morrison's Action Comics run. He starts out with the t-shirt look before wearing his Rebirth suit. Most of New 52 and Pre-New 52 stories happened. Clark and WW were a thing and some of their stories were a thing. For whatever reason, they broke up and stayed stronger together as friends. He died and in Reign you could've replaced Henshaw with Zor-El (don't see the point of having two Cyborg Supermen) After he came back, he wore the new 52 look. After doomed, Lois was revealed to be pregnant. Truth could happen (But Lois didn't Reveal it) and after Darkseid War, Final Days happens only Superman survived and used this to lay low (Superman: Lois & Clark) until Rebirth. That's what I would do. to truly fuse the Supermen together. that's what I'd do (sorry for the long post)

The New 52 Supes..Ive only have some info about him from the new DC Animated movies and well,he is kinda cool a lot more headstrong sure but still cool..yet i do like the "Classic " Supes
Okay: Flashpoint is reversed when Barry allows his mom to die, which causes timeline to start resetting to post-crisis time. Dr. Manhattan uses the timeline changing to carve out sections of reality before reset, including removing roughly ten years of history from our heroes, or deleting the older heroes' legacy altogether. New 52 is born, that is the universe and it's history at that time. Convergence event happens outside of time, bringing cities from various timelines and universes together. During this event, Post-crisis superman has his child with Lois, and in it's climax flies into the void to prevent the first crisis for happening, taking his family with him. Post-crisis super-fam arrive in New 52 in the background of the events of Justice League #1. Super-fam live out about 5-10 years of quiet life, while New 52 Supes is Superman-ing around. New 52 superman dies along with New 52 Lois, and Post Crisis Super-fam take their place. Mxysptlk captures the essence of New 52 Supes and Lois, with the intent to swap them for Post Crisis Supes and Lois, Leaving Post Crisis Jon with parents that don't recognise him (having never had a child). The two separate energies, Post-crisis and New 52, combine into the Reborn Superman and Lois, with characters pointing out that they fit together like opposite charges of a magnet. This creates the Reborn history, combining elements of both histories. Post-crisis history seems to take place up until the death of superman arc, at which point the New 52 history mostly comes in, except removing elements that contradict the previous years, and Lois and Clark getting married. In your superboy prime video you stated that supermen from different universes are not affected by kryptonite outside of their home universe. Is pre 52 superman affected by new 52 kryptonite? 3. Is this even a new universe?
Easiest way to think of it is it's the post crisis origin and stories with the ONLY thing they kept from the New 52 version was his parents dying his senior year...everything else was thrown out, no relationship w/ Wonder Woman, and none of the horrible stories that were told during the new 52.

I feel like you kinda said this, but what I took away from Superman Reborn is that when the n52 universe was created Superman was split in two (he mentions multiple times how he's weaker during Lois and Clark) and then recombined and their histories were merged when the N52 superman's energy fused with pre-n52 supes thanks to Mr Myx.

Taking Convergence out of this basically confuses things. You HAVE to include it because it explains the Pre-Flashpoint Superman's place in the New 52, going forward. It's important to the story. Both Supermen were two separate people. But they weren't split. Pre New 52 Superman is the one WE grew up with.
Pretty good video. The only thing I would say is that during Superman: Lois & Clark, Clark & Co. were living in California. They don’t move to Hamilton County until the beginning of Rebirth when they change their names from the Whites to the Smiths.
Hey Rob, bit of a weird... subject?... When i'm listening to your videos (which are bloody awesome btw) i notice that the volume of your videos differ per video, by quite a bit. With this particular video, i can hear a deep base... resonance i think? I don't know if this is noticible to anyone else, but whenever you speak, you can kind of hear the length of each word resonate at a deep, low frequency. I think it's somewhere between 40 and 55 hertz or something. This might have something to do with the audio-output being modified, relative to the original, i think?... Either that or microphone sensitivity. :3 Anyway, I have heard you reference an editor before, and i'm not really sure how doable this would be but: Is there a way to equalise the general output volume of your videos? If it's too much work, don't do it, don't even think about it, because it's really not that much of an issue. I just kinda became aware of this after probably 2 years of watching your channel, so that should give you a pretty good idea of how insignificant it is. Aloha Rob! I was wondering if you have any thoughts about them incorporating the Vertigo characters they have for the cosmic side of things. For example, the latest Sandman comic I read acted as a sort of rebirth with a story of people collectively imagining the entirety of the universe back with lot's of throwback references. I would love if the person who ends up stopping Dr. Manhattan in the end isn't Superman, or Batman, but John Constantine calling in a Boon of the Endless, which would then bring Sandman, Death, and Lucifer among others into the new rebirth cannon, which I think would be awesome.

One thing that the New 52 Superman does have over the old is the costume. I like the modern take on his armor's origin, and that it looks like a cool turtleneck

Well Wondie is together with Steve Trevor again, so they could easily just sya their relationship didn't happen in this timeline. I mean Wondies memories are screwed up anyways, so her just forgetting the N52 Supes would fit the bill.

I think it might have something to do with superboyprime, maybe he found a way to trap superboy outside of the current timeline? Remember he turned into time trapper and was the last surviving being in the dc universe? Maybe somewhere in that timeline he figured it all out. Who knows, only time can tell. Either way, we get to see prime and dr manhattan soon and that is SUPER exciting.

Every event in Rebirth had raised more questions than it has answered. Hopefully we get some real answers with Doomsday Clock.
I like the new 52 superman more than the pre-new 52 superman. He was refreshing, inexperience, unwise and does mistakes. He was basically superman in his first few years of being superman and had to learn through trial, tribulation and error so that he can learn, grow and develope to the superman we all know and love. But Hardcore superman fans have such a hard on to the old, tired and known superman of pre-52 that they didn't give the knew one a chance to grow and develope, granted some of the new 52 stories were bad but it didn't mean all in general were, there were some that was actually good. Superman Unchained was my personal favorite. Wish they didn't killed off new 52 supes, he's my favorite incarnation of superman.

I dont know if it has been brought up but I rather like the idea that when Barry went back to fix time Manhattan decided to fix time himself and thus screwed things up because both "fixes" happened at the same time and blended together thus why you have the cross overs of characters of pre-new52 and new 52
If you look at how masterfully Star Wars has brought it's Star Wars Legends into the new Star Wars Cannon we will see it's echoes in DC Rebirth i personally think it's brilliant.
It has to be a merger of the two supermen otherwise it doesn't make sense.

I hope the New 52 isn't just an illusion, it may not have been amazing, but it had great stories, and it would be just a waste to belittle such great lore. Like seriously, Batman had a great run, so did my man Deathstroke, and a lot more of other stuff as well.

Ok, I now I'm late to the party but I need some help over here. If Superman reborn is basically mixing together the pre-new 52 Superman with the new 52 Superman and considering Rob explained in the video that basically every encounter he had with his previous enemies is there... what does this mean for Lex Luthor? We saw Lex Luthor became a good guy in New 52 and I kinda like that, and as far as I know this reborn event is only affecting Superman, and so this is not affecting the rest of the New 52 universe (or shouldn't in my opinion, that's why I need help with this). The good guy new 52 Lex Luthor has been involved in other histories so far, so I can't really understand what an event like this Reborn means for him. Do we get the bad Lex Luthor back? Did this Reborn affected EVERYTHING in the New 52? If so, was it instant, or we'll see changes been implemented gradually? Damn... can't really understand what this means in the big schism... PLEASE HELP ME!!

The events of Darkseid War happened, but differently. This is evident in Rebirth oneshot#1 when we see Grail and her "baby daddy"

Pete Ross actually was a character, he was he only person who knew that Clark was Superman. Pete's kid was actually kidnapped by aliens but the Legion of Superheroes stopped him because Pete's kid was actually going to grow up with them and completely change their culture. Making Pete Ross go absolutely crazy.

I really don't think you would be confused about Superman and Action Comics. The comic books have text on the back of them that I'm sure explain what's going on in them. And also you could just search it online but that might be how you end up at this video.
The merging of the two Supermen brings a few questions to my mind:
1. Was Pre-New 52 Superman no longer there at the beginning, watching?
2. How old was Superman when the Justice League was formed?
3. When did Lois and Clark have Jonathan?
4. Is Convergence still a thing?
5. How old was he when he had Jonathan?
I honestly loved the idea of two Supermen being one (Only I wished the two conversed more and it looked like N52 Superman didn't have a choice in the fusion) I wanted his origin to be a fusion of Geoff Johns Secret Origins and Grant Morrison's Action Comics run. He starts out with the t-shirt look before wearing his Rebirth suit. Most of New 52 and Pre-New 52 stories happened. Clark and WW were a thing and some of their stories were a thing. For whatever reason, they broke up and stayed stronger together as friends. He died and in Reign you could've replaced Henshaw with Zor-El (don't see the point of having two Cyborg Supermen) After he came back, he wore the new 52 look. After doomed, Lois was revealed to be pregnant. Truth could happen (But Lois didn't Reveal it) and after Darkseid War, Final Days happens only Superman survived and used this to lay low (Superman: Lois & Clark) until Rebirth. That's what I would do. to truly fuse the Supermen together. that's what I'd do (sorry for the long post)

The New 52 Supes..Ive only have some info about him from the new DC Animated movies and well,he is kinda cool a lot more headstrong sure but still cool..yet i do like the "Classic " Supes
Okay: Flashpoint is reversed when Barry allows his mom to die, which causes timeline to start resetting to post-crisis time. Dr. Manhattan uses the timeline changing to carve out sections of reality before reset, including removing roughly ten years of history from our heroes, or deleting the older heroes' legacy altogether. New 52 is born, that is the universe and it's history at that time. Convergence event happens outside of time, bringing cities from various timelines and universes together. During this event, Post-crisis superman has his child with Lois, and in it's climax flies into the void to prevent the first crisis for happening, taking his family with him. Post-crisis super-fam arrive in New 52 in the background of the events of Justice League #1. Super-fam live out about 5-10 years of quiet life, while New 52 Supes is Superman-ing around. New 52 superman dies along with New 52 Lois, and Post Crisis Super-fam take their place. Mxysptlk captures the essence of New 52 Supes and Lois, with the intent to swap them for Post Crisis Supes and Lois, Leaving Post Crisis Jon with parents that don't recognise him (having never had a child). The two separate energies, Post-crisis and New 52, combine into the Reborn Superman and Lois, with characters pointing out that they fit together like opposite charges of a magnet. This creates the Reborn history, combining elements of both histories. Post-crisis history seems to take place up until the death of superman arc, at which point the New 52 history mostly comes in, except removing elements that contradict the previous years, and Lois and Clark getting married. Then The events of DC Rebirth take over, once more with elements changed to fit in with the new continuity. New 52 superman wasn't an impostor, nor was his history an illusion. Easiest way to think of it is it's the post crisis origin and stories with the ONLY thing they kept from the New 52 version was his parents dying his senior year...everything else was thrown out, no relationship w/ Wonder Woman, and none of the horrible stories that were told during the new 52.

I feel like you kinda said this, but what I took away from Superman Reborn is that when the n52 universe was created Superman was split in two (he mentions multiple times how he's weaker during Lois and Clark) and then recombined and their histories were merged when the N52 superman's energy fused with pre-n52 supes thanks to Mr Myx.

Taking Convergence out of this basically confuses things. You HAVE to include it because it explains the Pre-Flashpoint Superman's place in the New 52, going forward. It's important to the story. Both Supermen were two separate people. But they weren't split. Pre New 52 Superman is the one WE grew up with.
Pre flashpoint Superman starts in Dc convergence Superman( Not Dc convergence adventures of superman ).

Pretty good video. The only thing I would say is that during Superman: Lois & Clark, Clark & Co. were living in California. They don’t move to Hamilton County until the beginning of Rebirth when they change their names from the Whites to the Smiths.

When i'm listening to your videos (which are bloody awesome btw) i notice that the volume of your videos differ per video, by quite a bit.
With this particular video, i can hear a deep base... resonance i think?
I don't know if this is noticible to anyone else, but whenever you speak, you can kind of hear the length of each word resonate at a deep, low frequency.
I think it's somewhere between 40 and 55 hertz or something.
This might have something to do with the audio-output being modified, relative to the original, i think?...
Either that or microphone sensitivity. :3
Anyway, I have heard you reference an editor before, and i'm not really sure how doable this would be but:
Is there a way to equalise the general output volume of your videos?
If it's too much work, don't do it, don't even think about it, because it's really not that much of an issue.
I just kinda became aware of this after probably 2 years of watching your channel, so that should give you a pretty good idea of how insignificant it is.

Aloha Rob! I was wondering if you have any thoughts about them incorporating the Vertigo characters they have for the cosmic side of things. For example, the latest Sandman comic I read acted as a sort of rebirth with a story of people collectively imagining the entirety of the universe back with lot's of throwback references. I would love if the person who ends up stopping Dr. Manhattan in the end isn't Superman, or Batman, but John Constantine calling in a Boon of the Endless, which would then bring Sandman, Death, and Lucifer among others into the new rebirth cannon, which I think would be awesome.
This New 52/pre-New 52 Superman story has to be the most confusing and convoluted plot line I've seen in a while
