Hi guys! Sorry I have not been active in this account and have not replied to the comments. I just wanted to say that my ps4 has been working well and the problem I was having with the ps4 has been fixed. So in my case, I tried different kinds of micro B Usb charger wires since I did not have the original one that comes with ps4. The only one that worked for me was the fast charging wire. I have read some of the comments that they tried the fast charging wire and it did not work, I'm sorry but I do not really know any other ideas on how to fix it aside from the fast charging wire that worked for me.
So, I've been having a problem with a wired PS4 controller. It's not a Dualshock 4, and you may not have seen one before. You can just look it up if you need to. I've been really sad about it not working for the past few days, and it would be really nice if you could help me out.
FIXED. I had this problem and it appears that some micro USB cables are charging only and do not include data transfer. I had to buy a specific PS4 USB cable to allow the controller and console to recognise each other. Once that’s done, any micro USB can charge the controller. Make sure you buy a cable that is PS4 comparable to resolve this issue
I just got this off eBay and it turned on fine. I initialized it to get rid of all previous owners information. After that it was stuck on the screen as seen above. I spent nearly 4 1/2 hours and a dozen different tables and resets, but this is only as far as it would get. I’m giving my friend the controllers and I thoroughly enjoy Throwing this piece of shit off my balcony. It made a very satisfying series of crashes when it hit. F PlayStation. Back to Xbox.
That is right it is the cable. I bought my son APS for in the same is show the controller wouldn't work after the factory reset and I saw these texts with a different cable and I got a different cable and it worked after I tried a few others.
For me, the issue was the wire. It should be a good quality wire. One of those thic micro usbs. I’m serious! All the skinny flimsy ones i had were no good.
I THINK THERE ARE some members of the SONY corporation that want problems to occur to their Playstation consoles or controllers in hoping people will buy new consoles, That is crooked and very deceiving and they are suppose to be Sony, imagine that.
Just bought a refurbished ps4 and was stuck with this issue, controller was charging but had a flashing blue light when clicking the ps button. I followed a recommendation in the comments to try a different usb cable, found one in a drawer and it worked for me. The one that was failing was marketed as a ps4/xbox cable on the box and the one that worked was from an amazon fire stick so it doesn't need to be a specific ps4 cable. Good luck.

Mine too. When it’s on safe mode the contoller seems no problem, but when on that blue screen , the controller doesn’t work after pressing ps button. Tried different cables but no fix

It's saying to connect your controller to the PS4 if your PS4 remote is glowing when you plug in your Android charger to the PS4 in your PS4 Remote glows yellow or something press the PS button and it will turn your PS4 on

Steps: 1-Make sure you turn off your PS4 without any USB cables plugged in 2-Turn on your PS4. 2-Plug in the alternative USB cable (meaning: a different cable to the one giving you troubles), and then hit the PS button. It will work. 3-Doesn't work? Try another USB cable. Q&A section. Q: Does it need to be an official Sony PS4 USB wire? A: NO Q: What cable did I use? A: I have an amazon TV fire stick and it comes with an usb cable. I used that one to plug my controller and then it worked. Good luck guys!

I TRIED SOMETHING AND IT WORKED guys and girls, plug in a samsung charger just a charger with what u charge your ps4 controller and plug it in where it shows where u need to plug a usb cable in, and plug it in there and then in ur controller and then just press the ps4 button and IT WORKS

That doesn't work with this problem for me. I tried that and the controller was still flashing. I completely removed all the wires and tried turning it on again after like 10 mins but still same prob :(
I was still have the same problem before so I came here to write some comments and now my ps4 is working fine. Just get original wire connect it from your ps to your pad it will work.
Ok so I just had the same problem. Deleted old data/users in prep for selling the PS4. The blue screen in the video comes up, controller doesn't work. After reading this, I tried a different cable. Suddenly it works. But not only that, I put the first cable back in to see what happens, and now it works too. I think the USB cables were from a Samsung smartphone and a Samsung tablet. I hope that helps someone; I was starting to rip what's left of my hair out. :)

I then thought yep gonna have to send it back. My partner came back from work plugged it in tried it and it worked and all he did was plug it in press the ps button. Which is what I did many times before but didn't work for me. He tried it once and it worked so my advice keep trying. Maybe break and try again. Or get someone else to try maybe your luck is as bad as mine lol.

Idk if u fixed urs or not but if u havent all u need to do is clean around the inside of it x.x mine was pretty dirty lol. U gonna need a small Alan wrench (if thats the name) to open the right side of the ps4

Its the cable i tried some cheap ones i had and didnt work. The fix was a cable for wireless charger for my iphone. Hope this helps.

I have this same problem!! and many others have it too but all of the other forums I read hoping to find a solution say they've given up or have stopped playing altogether because of this issue. Please help!! My USB cable works fine because I've used it to charge the DUALSHOCK all this time, it going to suddenly stop working when I factory reset my PS4? Seems unlikely. I've tried unplugging my PS4 and turning it on with the controller -- doesn't respond. I've reset my controller with a paperclip and the button behind the L2 trigger - nothing. I've tried holding the share button and the PS button simultaneously because supposedly that's another form of resetting according to forums - Nothing!!! why is the PS4 like this!!! This shouldn't even be an issue grrrrrrrr

I have the same problem but you need a special usb cabel from the ps4
To those who keeps asking how to fix that problem is just use the original connector of the ps4 controller that is included. Don't use any cable. Thank me later

At that time, no. But I did the disconnect everything method and then having cables plugged into controller and pressing the power button on the console.

Guyssss i found the trick, use ANY cable that has that port like literally any in your house, I used my roku cable and it worked literally your ROKU cable WILL work
