    The older we get and the more music we really pay attention to, the more genres and respect we have for all music. It’s a beautiful thing. I’ve gotten into Jazz and Blues the past couple years. I’m a huge Rock, Metal, and EDM fan. It’s all good

    Thats what I loved most about late 90s and into the 2000s. Every single genre had bangers and everyone listened to everything. Hell, I remember at one point there were a few raggae style songs that were hits to the general population.

    I feel this song. I recently suffered an accident which wrecked my health. It's very humbling to climb back from something that leaves your confidence shaken and physically weakened. If you had watched the music video so we could see Asia laugh and react to a man who used to believe he was invincible. But as time has worn down his strength, body, and the idea of thinking of himself as a Superman is a memory that haunts him. But his spirit remains indomitable. Even in the face of reality that is telling otherwise. No matter how we feel there will come a day when we aren't as young as we used to not be. Our bodies slow down and reflexes die but our minds are where we live. So do what you can to live your best life. While you can.

    The song was written by the band's vocalist and drummer, Brad Arnold, in a mathematics class when he was fifteen and was one of the first songs he ever wrote.
    About the song's meaning, Arnold has said
    "That song seems like it's really just kind of like asking a question. Its question is kind of a strange one. It's not just asking, "If I fall down, will you be there for me?", because it's easy to be there for someone when they're down. But it's not always easy to be there for somebody when they're doing good. And that's the question it's asking. It's like, "If I go crazy, will you still call me Superman?" It's asking, "If I'm down, will you still be there for me?" but at the same time, "If I'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand?" That's kind of asking, "If I'm doing good, will you be there for me? Will you not be jealous of me?" That's the basic question that song's asking

Just 4 guys from Saskatchewan, Canada, a standing-bass, and a banjo, and 3 of the guys sing. The official video is a masterwork as well. So much fun.

    Thanks BJ! Thanks Asia!
    Three Doors Down have a GREAT catalog!
    This was their early hit and it is just the tip of the iceberg.
    Their music is largely mainstream, but just a little harder than 'pop'.
    My favorite song by 3 Doors is TIME OF MY LIFE!
    An absolute BANGER describing the pluses and minuses of touring!
    A MUST hear track.
    @casey knighton... well spoken.
    For much of my life I kept 'blinders' on and only preferred ROCK...
    Hated disco, despised country and wouldn't be caught dead listening to rap.
    That all changed when my kids started listening to THEIR music...my 'palate' was exposed to some of the most moving, powerful bands and sounds.
    Linkin Park, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, 5 Finger Death Punch, Saliva, Seether, Evanescence, and Eminem.
    Over the years (many of them) I've heard MANY, MANY bands, artists and entertainers.
    Even seen a bunch. Rascal Flatts, Cher, Metallica, 3 Doors Down...and a bunch more.
    Over the last 20 of those years, I've softened my Hardline stance on Rock being THE GENRE for me.
    That's still my 'go to', but I don't always reach for the remote or turn off other genres.
    I've grown to appreciate a wider variety of music and recognize excellence in them.
    I won't be starting a reaction channel any time soon, but there is SO MUCH to explore outside of our comfort zone.
    Music is universal and regardless of how it's expressed (genre), there's beauty, power and inspiration to be found...if we're only open to LISTENING, not just hearing.

    • @tinatreitler9192
      @tinatreitler9192 2 года назад

      Well said...glad you're enjoying the music and have seen the light so to speak!! I'm 60 now and grew up with a preference for R & B .. but...I heard just about everything including rock. I grew up in Southern Cali so that wasn't to hard...but I had friends who got "stuck" in the 70s but I didnt..My own 5 are all grown ranging from 39 to 27 and we are literally an A to Zed family...you never know what we'll be jammin' on any given day! That's life as it should be...I'm always finding new music to luv and discovering stuff I somehow missed!!!
