The Air Force recruiter told me it's the easiest thing ever, Army recruiter told me everyone is buddy buddy, Navy recruiter told me it's pretty much a party, and the Marines recruiter told me everyday will be a living hell. Started to lean towards the Marines that lovely day.
PumpkinBarPie air force recruiter wasnt lying lmao. you just have to be smart as hell cuz they pay you to sit in AC with a mini fridge and videogames. army is.. you should already know the navy sedu-- i mean recruiter wasnt lying its great when there isnt a hurricane marines is hell the guard doesnt ask people to join, the right people join anyways. but they're army and navy sex toys during wartime.
If I just tell her I want to join the Military she will freak out and I won't hear the end of it for a year, so I want a way to put it more delicately to her.
George A. Maybe lowkey bring it up in a conversation ex. "Speaking of Uncle Tom, he was a Marine, right?" something like that. Otherwise, just be upfront about it. I don't really think that there is an easy way to tell her. Just look at it this way, telling your mother that you want to enlist is the easiest thing that you'll ever do in the military. Talk to her about it and explore opportunities. Infantry isn't your only option, explain to her how there are normal jobs and even strong careers in the military. Semper Fidelis and good luck.
When I told my Mother I wished to Enlist soon she said "You sure?, that's what you want?". And that was it. It might be difficult to assert yourself to your own Mother but you must leave the nest at some point. Just stick to your Guns, Do your Research, and respect your Parents feelings on the matter.
Yeah man! My Marine recruiter is the best! I'm currently in the process of getting in. She has been helping me for like 2 and half months now. I feel like I've known her forever. I had to go back to meps twice to retake the hearing test and went for my ortho consult. I nailed the hearing test but now I'm waiting for my consult result.(crossing fingers)
In case u wonder if I got approved on my consult or nah. Well my recruiter just contacted me today and let me now that I got approved! I am going back to meps on Monday and swear in!!! Yahoo!
I talked to the Marine recruiter in High School. He was a pretty cool dude at first. I had a few family issues so I decided that I would wait to join up for a couple months after I graduated to help out around the house. He didn't like that. He got pushy quick. He wanted me to show up for the weekly PT, even though I was well in shape and told him I had to watch my nieces and nephews after school and on the weekends. I got a long lecture for saying no to him on that one. Constant phone calls to my parents. I'm pretty patient but when he showed up at my house with his Staff Sergeant, unannounced by the way, asking if I was 'serious' about joining up or not I had had enough. I told him what I told him before but that I wanted my documents back. The whole situation kind of ruined my desire to join up and I'm still debating it.
I'll tell you the same thing I told my best friend who's "desire" to join was ruined by one bad recruiter. If you're gonna let an experience with a shitty recruiter convince you that you don't want to join anymore, you were never serious about joining the military.
KingBeowulf dang that really sucks I would just come back to it when you feel comfortable. That's all I could say. That really sucks because that is the greatest decision you could possibly make to decide if you want to become a marine. Definitely take the ASVAB and see what jobs you qualify for. If you don't like anything take it again and do a practice test and study. Then once you think you are ready to move on do it. You could go into recruit training early if you are ready enough which makes life better to not worry to much about being fit.
My recruiter is pretty decent. I am mostly just concerned about the process about going into the army, like choosing a MOS, boot camp, and all the training. I'm so unclear on it and that's whats holding me back right now.
There really isn't much to it bro. The biggest, most important thing is that you lock down the job you want. One that has applicable skills in the civilian world and is something you'll ENJOY for the four years of your life that you're enlisted.
ClaytonFilpo I want to join the marines once I turn 17 but I have a question if I sign for a job for my first term can I reenlist and choose a job my second term?
I'm trying to study for the Asvab and take it after this winter break. A friend of mine gave me his Airforce Recruiter's phone number, but I'm not really sure about what I need to ask him besides what score I need to get on the Asvab to get into the Airforce, and where I can go take it. I'm 18 and I'm about to graduate high school by the way.
My marine corps recruiter is honestly a great guy. He was recently promoted to meritorious staff Sargent for being in the top 8 recruiters in the Montgomery rs. He was like every other recruiter at the beginning just trying to get me to join but really made me feel like I was worth something after that. He showed me pictures of him in Iraq when he was combat camera and artillery. He is one of the greatest people I know and I really look up to him.
I talked to an army recruiter, nothing disqualifys me except my ADD medication, which I know I have to be off of for a year. The recruiter and I get passed that, we talk about what I might do in the Army, gives me his card, tells me to text him, so I did. No reply, that was a month ago, what the hell?
Wyatt Olson Sometimes shit happens, man. I know this is late but you have to understand if he gives out cards and tells people to text him then there's a chance you got lost in a wave of texts. You are just a number to him. If that's what you want to do don't give up on it.
I've talked to two recruiters. One was near where I go to college and the other is from my home town and who recruited two of my siblings. The one near my college, I personally was not a fan of as a recruiter. It seemed like he was doubtful of my commitment to be a marine, which felt a little discouraging at the time since I myself was still doubtful. My brothers' recruiter however I was a big fan of. He seemed invested in everyone and was supportive of anyone who had the resolve to not quit the workouts which I attended several over the years before deciding to enlist. His speeches were highly motivational and his story's about the corps were very inspirational. He may have only been meeting a quota, but damn he was very good at what he did.
Oh man, i had a blast with my marine recruiter and the experience along with it, didnt exactly met the standards quite yet so the recruiter gave me a week or two to retry the test. Awesome guy!
Iv been in the DEP for 4 months now. And i love my recruiters. I came in to the office from day one and told them I was ready and wanted to do it. Sense then I managed to get three referrals in the first month of being in the DEP (which gets me promoted) and iv come to be really good friends with the 5 recruiters and A Boss recruiter at my sub station. To anyone about to see a recruiter understand "yes the HAVE a quota" but most of them truly do care about you and your future and want the best. So keep that in mind! I'm more then happy to talk to anyone about it if they want but iv been hanging around my recruiters almost everyday for 3+ hours or maybe the whole day and iv come to love them!
my recruiter was just straight forward and blunt. said I had to lose weight. so that's what I'm doing. he was cool imo. any person who can be blunt and polite has my respect
my recruiter is pretty chill, he just doesnt know that im actually serious because my parents basically try to avoid it and dont really want to meet him or get anymore info from him
Ive talked to the recruiters at school(obviously not the way a real encounter would). I did talk to one of my friends who was a rec. assistant or something like that. I've planned already on going in the Marines as an officer. I'm just worried about my weight. I'm 80 lbs over weight. Thanks man!
i spoke with recruiters from every branch and from my experience the Marine recruiter pressured the most, he was like a professional salesman, had me signing papers in my principals office before i even got a chance to speak with any other branches. a week later i realized it was such a premature decision and wanted to look around before committing so my recruiter threatened legal stuff and this and that and "if you back out now nobody will take you." Luckily i got out and talked to every other branch ended up enlisting in the national guard and getting discharged for medical reasons before going to bootcamp. Hopefully i can re-enlist in a year or two though. Ps. i like the videos! I like the insight to military life.
I've been talking to recruiters for 2 years (since I was 15) and I have talked to every branch. I decided on army. I tested well on the ASVAB and got what I wanted!
I heard a lot of what you said"they are just trying to make numbers". I was surprised to find out when I saw mine that they were not trying to make number, but make sure that this is the right fit for me. He definitely tried to be "my bro" and stuff though. He himself said "I can't promise any jobs, but I can try my best to get you one that you are interested in. Some jobs can suck so do your research and talk to people or go online to find out how people feel about the jobs you are interested in."
I have to admit, my recruiter is great. She has pushed me to get back in shape and helped me narrow down my selections on what jobs I want to pursue while keeping things real.
Spoke with one for the first time last week! I had a very good experience and didn't notice any red flags people always say to watch for. He was straight up with me about what rocks and what sucks. I really appreciated his honesty on both sides of it. It was kind of funny. I told him I thought public affairs would be a great fit for me and it was hilarious he was like "well dang not many people come in asking for that. If you get a good ASVAB score you should be set on that" meanwhile another one from across the way yelled over "he has the voice for it" all the while one Marine would walk behind me once in awhile whispering "infantryyyyyy" and it was hilarious. Overall good experience so far.
I'm 17 and I am talking to an army recruiter, he seems pretty cool and he's been fairly helpful so far in getting me fit for basics. My mom on the other hand doesn't like the idea at all, so a video on how to talk to her will really help!
My recruiter is looking out for me because the army didn't offer me help to be prepared but the marine corps did and I respect that so that's why I personally chose marines I go to weekly training and he gives me workouts and he really wants me to succeed so that's respectable
Last week during one of our pool's PT's we had a Sargeant Major come in and talk to us. He basically said that he didn't wanna blow sunshine up our ass but our RSS does a good job of producing great Marines. DEP is amazing and I don't need to lose weight but I've already dropped 10 pounds, I love everyone I work out with, the motivation is great, and the recruiters are like an extra set of parents to me. I crashed my car a few weeks back and they were the only ones who answered my call for help. There is a female Marine back on recruiters assistance and she is literally my role model she motivates me to do my best and helps me with hair and stuff. I ship out next summer but I feel like I could go to boot camp tomorrow and get through it because of them.
I have had 3 different recruiters. Each one was completely different from the other. The first one kept me informed all the time about my enlistment process and helped me get the necessary documents that I needed, and was just an all around great person. The second one ( my favorite, he got assigned to a different RSS) was an awesome motivator, he really helped me with the run and PT, also he always let me know when I had to be at Pool Functions or ISTs way ahead of time. The third one , which is my current one, is just eh... I have to ask him all the time about my ship date and my job , he waits until the night before to tell me that I have to be at a Pool Function and doesn't follow through with what he says he's going to do. I'm just trying to make sure to constantly ask him about my ship date and job because it seems like he won't remember to inform me unless I pester him.
Yep. Some are great motivators and stellar Marines. Others are...well...pretty much forced into the job. Being a recruiter is a job that pretty much everyone has to do if they'd like to stay in. That or be a drill instructor.
I talked to a Marine recruiter and I'm only a freshman. Granted, it was at a booth at school. Is not like I contacted them on my own. They were there answering questions about the PFT, MOS's, how to stay in shape and stuff like that. They haven't been there since but I'll see a recruiter talk to a sophomore or junior once every blue moon. I do see a crap ton of Army recruiters at school though.
I had the coolest recruiter ever. He did favors for me, walked me through MEPS, came to my house to talk to my parents and they wound up signing permission papers for me to join and he spoke very highly of me. He was great, he really boosted my confidence a lot of times. Although now I have a new recruiter who's also new at recruiting, I'll find out what she's like as soon as I meet her at tomorrow's pool function. Hopefully she's as cool as my old recruiter because I have a year until I ship out and I want to really be well prepared and packed with basic knowledge.
When I was processing with Navy for SEAL DEP they were saying if I wasn't going to sign the next day at MEPS they weren't going to take me cause they would only take guys that were 100%, and I know you don't have to sign the day of. I wanted Navy College Fund, he diverted it back to GI Bill. I was told that if I went next door to talk to the Army recruiter to see my options there, and came back deciding Army wasn't for me and I wanted SEAL DEP still, his boss might have to write me as "unfit to join the Navy" or that my opportunity to join would be gone or that my shoulder surgery from years ago might be overturned. So I go talk to the Army recruiter, and explain to him my situation with the Navy. (This is the same time, same building, literally just one wall over) he hears what I say about what the Navy is doing he looks at me and says "I don't give a fuck about you, okay? But I'm going to tell you the possibilities you have with us, what routes you can take, where you can get fucked, where you will get fucked and where you'll be well off at. I'm here because I have to be I'm counting the days until I go back to the field. The whole quota shit means nothing to me I won't get in trouble and if I do I don't care. You can walk away and never join, fine by me, I'm here to help you out if you want to though" paraphrasing obviously. He seemed extremely trustworthy, and spoke to me as a man rather than a blind 19 year old kid. Currently processing with the Army now.
I'm 17 and as soon as I get this weed out of my system I'm going to talk to a army recruiter I've been going to the gym everyday and drinking nothing but water
Lord Vader Don't know the status of the weed situation or if you've talked to a recruiter yet, but make 100% sure you do not lie about the weed. Just talk to them about it. They'll make sure you don't get caught in a lie.
I realize this is an old video, but I had a question. how does recruitment work if there are no recruiters for my desired branch near where I live? I live in the middle of nowhere, and the only way you can get into town is by flying...
My recuiter is very down to earth and has known my family. Even though im 16 he helps me with interests and priorities as well as what to expect much like you do. I have his number and he also makes sure my grades are b+ or higher. I might just be a number but hes really helpfull.
as cheesy as it seems, I brought my parents with me when I went to go talk to a recruiter. For one it makes it easier to have a conversation because your parents can ask questions that maybe you didn't think of, and also they hear everything that you hear.
I had bad Recruiters when trying to join the Marines; They did everything to get me disqualified and were successful in doing so. The funny thing is whats disqualifying me is waver-able but, they are too lazy to do anything about it or to do not care to do anything about it.
I went to do the Air Force recruiter one time with my mom and he's been helpful and informative,I got free merch too but I have a bad left ear which can disqualify me from the military but I'm still gonna try if I have the chance
I'm just 16 but I started going to the recruiters when I was 15 went to work outs with the marines when they had but stopped going when I moved further away but from what other people said from my school recruiters for the marines is that if you want infantry he won't give it to you he'll give you everything els but infantry and we'll try extremely hard to persuade you
So you said if you're 17 you need parents permission but at my school at lunch we have recruiters everyday trying to talk to kids especially at the end of the year
So I'm a pretty young guy and I've been thinking about whenever I get older to enlist. Do you think I should go to college first and get a basic degree or immediately enlist?
Well, not always they are there to help you. I'm going to talk about my experience. I went to talk to this recruiter for the ARMY and when I took the ASVAB test I did score low, but I had credits from the university. The thing is that I wasn't able to get them and he was trying to make me do something totally illegal to get them. If I wasn't wise enough and did what he told me and someone ever discovered that shit I would be kicked out the military for life. When he ask me to cheat like that I was so surprised and the the deception was so big that I don't want to know shit about him and the ARMY. Plus I was really interested in joining the NAVY. So no, I don't think that all of them are really committed to their jobs. I am turning 35 really soon and won't be able to join active duty, but if I try it again for the reserves will be NAVY, those guys were really helpful and honest.
That's my dad as the RUclips video picture lol he was never a recruiter but it's cool you used him for it he was a drill instructor if any of you guys have any questions I can answer I'm in the Marine Corp too
So I take my asvab tomorrow, and swear in Thursday as an infantry reservist. I'm a 17 year old senior in high school, and my recruiter tells me I'll probably ship out for basic in San Diego in July or August of 2017 (not even an entire month after I graduate high school). I am also planning to attend a university, and begin classes starting in the January of 2018 (spring) semester. I wanted to ask your opinion on reservist college students going into the Platoon Leaders Class. It's an absolute honor to have the ability to be a marine (even if I am a reservist) as well as being a full time college student, but I have the utmost intentions of becoming an active duty commissioned officer after I graduate college and complete officer candidate school via PLC.
It might also be good to note that my dad is a disabled veteran, and my tuition is covered for my four years of college in my state, so paying for college isn't a huge problem for me.
What I'm afraid is when I enlist in the next few years is that I'll be like a person who fills gas or like prepares the vehicles when I actually want to fight for my country. What happens then?
BMP 1776 good luck on that recon contract. i was a recruiter in 08-11 and only had and saw 1 person get that in my command. It all depends on the needs of the Marine Corps.
chavy my brother graduated boot camp in may from Parris Island and he got a recon contract. In fact he actually just completed BRC and his graduation ceremony is this Friday
I've got lots of questions before I'd think of signing up, this is a decision I want to take my time on. I'm worried that I won't be able to ask the recruiter any questions without him pressuring me to sign up ASAP, or worse. All the blokes who live in my town that are military are Air Force (we have an AFB here) but I want to join the Navy more than anything, so I don't know who else I'd go to to ask my questions.
My recruiter is pretty laid back. We have work outs twice a week and he can certainly push us when its needed. I'm in the DEP for the Marines until next july.
Yea my recruiter was a straightforward understanding guy. I was honest and told him I smoked weed a few days before I even spoke to him and he wasn't mad or brushed me off like some junkie. He told me to get clean then he later gave me waivers to get filled out. But he also told me that I couldn't get a job in the Marines until I went to MEPS and the other recruiters said the same thing. So is it really possible to get the MOS I desire before I even go to MEPS?
A little over a year ago, I was NOT going to enlist, especially Marine Corps. Now I'm getting ready to enlist in the Marine Corps. Trust me, never say never.
Im afraid of speaking to a recruiter because i dont want to be disqualified from precious charges i had. I feel like it will ruin my chances in other branches if i go ahead and tell the army recruiter i have 2 misdemeanors, i feel like my info can spread to the marines and now i cant be a marine because the army guy knows im a criminal and they can see ive recently spoke to a recruiter and got denied. Help plzzzz
I dropped weight from 278 to 215 before I went to go talk to a recruiter current 198 lbs running a 9 pull up 12:47 1 1/2 run time 77 crunches and 92 ammo can lifts and just today found out my waiver got sent back still disqualified
Thank you and I got disqualified for karatonconus only way in will be if I get my primary eye doctor to check and say it's not that bad or I get surgery
Hey man as joining the USMC as an officer is that a decision that has to be made before starting college or can it be made closer to graduation or even after graduation.
My marine recruiter was cool I'm 5'7 1/2 and I was overweight he just told me to come to training every Tuesday and Thursday which was like 1-2 hours long I have lost 50lbs from going but it all depends on your recruiter
Im 17 and have just signed up for the future Marine deployment program. I literally did it today and am looking to go to meps next week. My only question is about MOS's and which ones have you heard good things on? I scored high on the evaluation test at the office and am suspected to get in the 90s for the adsvab for some frame of reference. I'm thinking about aviation repair and things similar to that, that transition into high paying civilian jobs. I'd really appreciate any advice anyone can give me. Thanks and happy birthday Marine Corps.
I spoke with a Marine recruiter about 4 months ago and after I left the recruiting office I haven't heard from him. I have a feeling he thinks I'm a piece of shit and doesn't want to waste time with me, although I still have full intentions of enlisting.
Just Jano if you really want to prove him wrong that you are committed to join the Marines than tell him you want to go to their PT then show up every day! Or simply just find another recruiting office or recruiter. The Marines can choose who they can take and not take. Speaking from experience, I've been in the same shoes as you are
I tried to call an Air Force recruiter, but I stuttered and I couldn't really hear what he was saying, so he hung up before I could even say my name. I'm going to call him again(with headphones so that I can hear him more clearly), but I need to know if this will effect my chances of getting in, or whether he'll help me or not.
Hey,I've been pondering the idea of doing the military since I was about six years old and I'm now seventeen.I recently made up my mind on which branch I was going to do and that is the Marines.I tried to reach out to a recruiter and they talked to me for a time, but really didn't really take me seriously.I'm pretty sure they might have gotten weary when I said that I had to lose seventy to eighty pounds to be qualified to enlist.Ever since then he hasn't contacted me and I'm getting a bit discouraged.Any pointers?
I enlisted into dep back in December 2015 and my ship date was August 1st. The MOS I wanted was 03xx and around January to February I was told that I had the MOS and that I can't secure it untill the week I ship which I later found out that my recruiter lied to me and he never actually had the job for me. So they pushed my date back another month and I believe that it was around September 15th and well I would constantly call and ask at the workouts what my new shipping day was and the recruiters would tell me that they will check for me and well they never did and well around 4 days before my new ship date I was told that I was leaving that upcoming Monday and they told me I had to pick from three jobs which were three jobs that sucked and I was surprised because I scored a 78 on the asvab. So I told them that I only really wanted to ship with either 03, 08, or combat support and they weren't able to get me any of those jobs and wanted to put me into something to do with cooking and shit so I turned it down then the SSgt in charge told me that if I wanted a combat job to go next door to the Army and ask them and well I did and here I am now waiting for some papers so I can join the Army. That is my experience with USMC recruiting. I wish I didn't get screwed over and it sucks that I won't be a Marine. But, at least I know I am still doing the job I always wanted too do.
if you dep in dec 2015 for marines you would have to wait a whole year to start process in a different branch so im guessing your waiting till december correct
Hey man whats going on? So when you see a recruiter do you absolutely have to see the one that's closest to you? Or is it one of those things where it's only preferred you do? I think I heard you say that it doesn't matter in another video but I'm not sure which video though if so its true.
Im trying to get fit, but I am afraid that because I am 20 years old I am loosing time to be seen as a potential poolee. My mindset was, after I do pass and earn the title, let the feeling of being a marine and the lifestyle sink in, and then improve upon myself to tackle an mos like 0372. What advice would you give to a person who's my age, I am 5'8 to 5'9 and weigh about 177lbs. The thing I struggle ALOT with is pull ups and climbing ropes. Running, crunches were once my favorite workout, and so was climbing.
Would you say it's better to go to them in shape or use them to help you get in shape for the military? I'm about 50 pounds overweight didn't know if I should work on loosing it first or talk to them about it.
2 things.. What is a "dep"? 2nd.. So you're saying if I talk to a recruiter and have 2 jobs in mind that I want. I take the asvab and I'm still not qualified for what I want, Im not bound to what usually comes next? Could I try again later? Take the asvab again until I qualify?
So i just got off the phone with a recruiter, and i didnt quite understand a question I was asked and i think i answered the question incorrectly. Could this influence my chances of getting in?
The Air Force recruiter told me it's the easiest thing ever, Army recruiter told me everyone is buddy buddy, Navy recruiter told me it's pretty much a party, and the Marines recruiter told me everyday will be a living hell. Started to lean towards the Marines that lovely day.
PumpkinBarPie
air force recruiter wasnt lying lmao. you just have to be smart as hell cuz they pay you to sit in AC with a mini fridge and videogames.

A video on how to tell my parents I want to join the military would be great, because my mother isn't going to be happy when she hears that.

There ain't no talking to recruiters, only negotiating lol

Rimajol Melele fuck meps. glad i paat it in one day.
I talked to the Marine recruiter in High School. He was a pretty cool dude at first. I told him what I told him before but that I wanted my documents back. The whole situation kind of ruined my desire to join up and I'm still debating it.
KingBeowulf He sounds really pushy, possibly trying to meet a quota. Try another recruiter if you can.
KingBeowulf pls don't let that one recruiter ruin your dreams pls see another one if not then that's your choice and your life good luck
I'll tell you the same thing I told my best friend who's "desire" to join was ruined by one bad recruiter. If you're gonna let an experience with a shitty recruiter convince you that you don't want to join anymore, you were never serious about joining the military.

My Marines recruiter stole me from my National Guard recruiter with one meeting! Gotta love them Marines!
I haven't talked to a recruiter but I'm planning on talking to one
goodluck bud
Something Something Ronny where can i?
My recruiter is the best. He's a true friend. He motivated me to pass each and every class, get in physical shape and study my knowledge.
When Clayton said you're just a number to them.. reminds me of college I'm just a number ;-;
I'm in the Navy and my doctor prescribes me Adderall for Inattentive ADHD.
Their job is to kiss your ass into recruiting.
6:22 could not be more true lmfao, "Okay kick me out" "Well i didnt mean that" ahahaha
My recruiter gave me a few MREs from his van because he made me miss physics
I'm a NJROTC cadet and all the recruiters that I met are super chill and they always have something cool to say.
my recruiter is pretty chill, he just doesnt know that im actually serious because my parents basically try to avoid it and dont really want to meet him or get anymore info from him
Ive talked to the recruiters at school(obviously not the way a real encounter would).
Glad the videos help!
I've been talking to recruiters for 2 years (since I was 15) and I have talked to every branch. I decided on army. I tested well on the ASVAB and got what I wanted!
All I can really say about my recruiter is that he's really professional and super chill at certain points.
My recruiter is absolutely amazing, hes pushing me to go for my job and to not wait on a job that i wont, i couldnt of asked for a better one
I have to admit, my recruiter is great. She has pushed me to get back in shape and helped me narrow down my selections on what jobs I want to pursue while keeping things real.
That's dope dude. Sounds like you got a good recruiter!
You probably madr a mistake but good luck anyways
ClaytonFilpo
My recruiter is a pretty cool and laid back guy. He encourages me to show up to training every week and even checks up on me at school.
They'll make sure you don't get caught in a lie.
dont do this lmao.. lie or you wont get in.
No = New Opportunities
Yes = Your Enlistment Stops
my recruiter is a total bro like for real he really does a good job of making you feel included
I realize this is an old video, but I had a question.
how does recruitment work if there are no recruiters for my desired branch near where I live?
I live in the middle of nowhere, and the only way you can get into town is by flying...
Give them a call or hit them up online. (Many recruiting stations have a Facebook or instagram as well).
My recuiter is very down to earth and has known my family. Even though im 16 he helps me with interests and priorities as well as what to expect much like you do. I have his number and he also makes sure my grades are b+ or higher. I might just be a number but hes really helpfull.
We have recruiters come to our school 3 times a year about I am 15 and I talked to every single time about enlisting once I'm 18.
as cheesy as it seems, I brought my parents with me when I went to go talk to a recruiter. For one it makes it easier to have a conversation because your parents can ask questions that maybe you didn't think of, and also they hear everything that you hear.
I love the channel, keep it up.
Thanks man
I had bad Recruiters when trying to join the Marines; They did everything to get me disqualified and were successful in doing so. The funny thing is whats disqualifying me is waver-able but, they are too lazy to do anything about it or to do not care to do anything about it.
Just talked to 1 yesterday, he was very helpful.
I went to do the Air Force recruiter one time with my mom and he's been helpful and informative,I got free merch too but I have a bad left ear which can disqualify me from the military but I'm still gonna try if I have the chance
Jon Adrian did he say anything about eye sight and what free merch did you get the only merch you get from the marine recruiter is a headacjhe
my recruiter picked me up and took me out to eat, im 17 and already going to pt every other day for the marine core.
my recruiter is the shit. Sgt.Heckman rss riverside. Straight up dude, does not give up on me . Grateful for a awesome recruiter.
Depends on your priorities. I have a few videos about this, one called officer vs enlisted
Bautista The Autista
Great video Clayton!
I asked my recruiter if there were any enlistment bonuses(family is mostly army) his response was priceless. "Your bonus is bei g a marine"
That's my dad as the RUclips video picture lol he was never a recruiter but it's cool you used him for it he was a drill instructor if any of you guys have any questions I can answer I'm in the Marine Corp too
That's rad! My buddy is the one who went to his office and took the photo. Right on man
So I take my asvab tomorrow, and swear in Thursday as an infantry reservist.
Dylan Rutan
trying to go same route.
Dylan Rutan haven't decided on mos yet though
My recruiter was pretty honest
Luckily for me my recruiter is actually my neighbor so it's a bit more personal.
I'm sixteen right now and I think I'm going to enlist after high school and I'm just waiting to turn 17 to go down to the recruiting office.
im a poolee for the marines rn and my recruter is pretty good im 18 over weight and he hes a great help
What I'm afraid is when I enlist in the next few years is that I'll be like a person who fills gas or like prepares the vehicles when I actually want to fight for my country. What happens then?
I'm afraid that he won't give the Recon contract, and that I might get fucked and end up with an open contract.
Mitch Azar nice!!! good for him. i wish him the best. i am almost at 20years and will hang my hat up
chavy Thats awesome! Thank you so much for your service!!!
When they threaten you... Just threaten them with joining the Army instead. Then your friends again.
From personal experience they're all just salesman... don't get too attached.
my recruiter was pretty good. made me get into better shape for sure
My recruiter is pretty laid back. We have work outs twice a week and he can certainly push us when its needed. I'm in the DEP for the Marines until next july.
MagicMoron why so long??
gotta graduate high school first haha. Pretty eager to join
My recruiter is awesome and saved me from a ton of waivers
I don't even ever want to join any form of military... Yet it still find myself watching these. xD
Why not?
A little over a year ago, I was NOT going to enlist, especially Marine Corps. Now I'm getting ready to enlist in the Marine Corps. Trust me, never say never.
Do they ask have you ever been kicked out of school and for what?
Damn:( Hang in there dude. And don't be afraid to talk to the other branches. Best of luck, stay motivated.
Speaking from experience, I've been in the same shoes as you are
And Clayton can the recruiter look at my medical records
Not really, but meps might. He/she will ask about them though
Im worried that my lack of knowledge will give the recruiter an opportunity to take advantage and get an easy signature
my recruiter is awesome worked with me to get me the job I wanted and is helping me get ready for bootcamp.
I am bowlegged and that worries me that I won’t be able to enlist in the Marines, should I be worried? It does affect my ability to run at all
My recruiter doesn't know / won't tell me when I am going to be notified if I get my hpsp commission or not.
I tried to call an Air Force recruiter, but I stuttered and I couldn't really hear what he was saying, so he hung up before I could even say my name. I'm going to call him again(with headphones so that I can hear him more clearly), but I need to know if this will effect my chances of getting in, or whether he'll help me or not.
thanks for making this video it was really helpful
But, at least I know I am still doing the job I always wanted too do.
you would most likely like the army infantry than the marine haze fest infantry unit. your on a much better path beleive it
if you dep in dec 2015 for marines you would have to wait a whole year to start process in a different branch so im guessing your waiting till december correct
My older half-brother is a recruiter and a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy.
How should I ask him about joining?
Would you say it's better to go to them in shape or use them to help you get in shape for the military? I'm about 50 pounds overweight didn't know if I should work on loosing it first or talk to them about it.
my recruiter never answers my calls or text. and never calls back either?
hey filpo. what do you take to the recruiting office the day you'll enlist?
GoldyGoldyGone44 Your recruiter will tell you. A few bucks and an ID. I think one civie outfit.
2 things.. What is a "dep"? 2nd.. So you're saying if I talk to a recruiter and have 2 jobs in mind that I want. I take the asvab and I'm still not qualified for what I want, Im not bound to what usually comes next? Could I try again later? Take the asvab again until I qualify?
when i first met my recruiter he was wearing a t-shirt and shorts lmao
do i just walk into the recruiting station?
So i just got off the phone with a recruiter, and i didnt quite understand a question I was asked and i think i answered the question incorrectly. Could this influence my chances of getting in?
I'm 15, 215 pounds right now working my way to get fit to join the corps
