Brandon Ouellette essentially yeah. You can get a waiver for almost anything. They won’t waive you anything big but something small like 3-5 points maybe.
Bryan Villescas unless you truly believe you love america to death and you wanna " give your life for your country " and all that bullshit, dont go infantry positions. 1) High chance of casualty/death 2) No trade when you get out ( no job skills unless you wanna kick down fucking doors for a living ) 3) Field life fucking sucks even when your not in combat

Thanks Clayton for the info! I'm really looking forward to bootcamp and everything it comes with because I know it's a once in a life time experience. Your videos help me out a lot, I know if I ever need advice I can always come to your channel.
11:05-> When I was 18, I had to go to a correctional boot camp for 6 months. After the initial welcome (smoked like charcoal), getting your head shaved (you can't recognize anyone you thought you knew), getting your gear, and then getting squared away in the barracks. That is the exact thought I had :-D Physically, the first couple of weeks were the most difficult. Then, like you said, you're at the mercy of other stupidity in your barracks. I learned real quick about team work, discipline, %40 rule, sanitation, and how quickly your mouth can get you into trouble. Thanks for the share and keep up the good work~!
my personal experience going through boot last year is this. If your going to be a grunt, boot camp is the easiest thing you will probably ever do. When i made it to Infantry training battalion it made boot camp seem like going through fun summer camp. Once i arrived to my first unit last year, it made both boot and ITB seem like pre school. Don't get scared by rumors and motto RUclips videos. Boot camp isn't hard at all, fat people make it through with no sweat and the passing rate is like 93%. The only way your going to fail is if you get seriously injured.
+Isaac Reaper it depends on the severity of the injury. if it's really bad, then they send you home. if it's like something minor with little rehab, then I believe they let you stay but you're put into a different platoon. I believe it's called rtp or PCP, something like that. I can't remember, but you don't start from day 1. you start from where you got dropped at.
+Isaac Reaper umm... it depends, haha. a friend of mine went to boot camp & she got a stress fracture in her foot. she was in medical for like 4 extra weeks. another girl had something wrong with her hip, & she was sent home. & my other friend was sent home because of her eye. I can't really say what would be severe or minor. because everything is different. what I think would be minor could be severe to the corpsmans. I know they look at what body part is injured & the severity of the injury itself comes into play.
US Navy MEPS waived me for lazy eye immediately but dinged me for psychological exam, something to do with being expelled from high school (personal issue with teacher, he told the school board i was a threat to the school and boom expelled, non violent, no drugs nothing) (didn't listen to my recruiter when she told me that never happened but i thought my record would be looked at anyways), and 5 mins with a Indian civilian psychologist i had to ask mutable times what she said. Sadly i didn't get waived for that ordeal.
I have a minor club foot (physical deformity) and even though I can wear any shoe or boot with ease. I can run, jog, and sprint without discomfort. I can walk long distances (with the usual foot aches from walking so long) and be fine. I've been losing weight as well. Do you believe that I'd be accepted once I meet the weight requirements? I also won't lie, I smoked weed once in college when I was around 21 and again around 23. I haven't done it since. I just turned 27 as well.
I need to gain around 15 pounds to be eligible, my recruiter told me it would be helpful to go to all of the workout so I'll get hungry and help with my high metabolism.
Hey man I really enjoy your videos. I'm planning on enlisting infantry in a few months, and I wanted to ask you a couple questions about it. I'm a heavier guy and I've been running and working out to lose weight. I wanted to know if you were overweight when you decided you wanted to enlist and how you went about shedding weight the quickest/healthiest way. Thanks clay cheers man.
I was 80 pounds overweight. I lost it over the course of about 14 months. It honestly is a mental and habitual problem. The sooner you make up your mind that you will develop better habits, the faster you'll reach your goal. I dieted properly, exercised A LOT, and got great sleep. It just takes time and dedication.
ClaytonFilpo Thanks a lot bro. This is something I really want to do, so your advice means a lot. I'm new to your channel, so do you happen to have a video on a diet for shedding weight?
Question! I ship out to Parris Island in 4 weeks. Whats the best way to make it through first and second phase of boot camp? Also, can I get stationed at the base that I want? If so, how?
For the Graduation I heard you can rent out cabins on the base . Currently aug 4 is the marine graduation I'm going to in San Diego. How far in advance do you think I should reserve just in case it takes longer for him to graduate?
Considering marine reserve too many ties at home to go active now I know reserve can pick their exact MOS my question is that me being located in Ohio and every MOS I want to do is out in California...Is there anyway I can get into my desired MOS and if so would I have to pay for my plane ticket or do they have some kind a travel voucher system "if it's in the budget"
I'm in the process of enlisting and I was lucky enough to have a decent sized base near me but there is only a few Reserve MOS. I had to just pick one that goes closest to what I want to do. But I'll be able to lock it in
Clayton I know you're not that close but if you got your play button tomorrow what would the drill sergeant do if you were at boot camp and they sent you they button
I've seen a bunch of your videos and there definitely helpful as hell, but my most important question is if I have a child and not married would I be allowed BHA?? I'm going to meps for the physical soon than off for bootcamp..
I got extra bones in my feet and I'm missing a bone in each of my pinkie toes. You can't tell by looking at my feet and it hasn't given me problems in over 5 years. Is that going to be a problem at MEPS? Also, at MEPS, do you have to give them all xrays taken in the past?
You should be good to go. Unless your recruiter says you should (which he/she probably won't) you probably won't have to show xrays at meps. Essentially, they just look you over once and ask you if you have any health problems (which you say "no" almost 99.99999999% of the time)
+Joe Purmort Yes, but you have to be married or a Staff Sgt. And, you have to live within the BAH rate for your duty station. You can't go buy a million dollar house or apartment and expect to afford it.

You get used to it pretty quickly when you're life seems to mean nothing and you're getting constantly screamed at by a drill instructor. You forget all about phones and social media.
i'm in the process of enlisting i went over many details with my recruiter. but i cant do a lot of pull ups despite being underweight and i'm a little over the time limit on the run; like i just don't have enough upper arm strength. is there any way i can improve my pull ups and running? my main concern in boot camp is not being able to actually do and meet the physical requirements and getting everyone in trouble. Thanks in advance.
Power Gaming hey idk if this is still relevant to you or not but I’m a Poolee and when I first started I could only do like 4 pull-ups and I ran a 10:34 my first try.
