it's just weird that I can't stand this much talking in a demo video but can listen to mike all day long and watch hundreds of his video. man, you are so good at doing this. Thank you!

Really thoughtful clear and concise video. I have the Seventh Heaven Pro and it always gives me the best problem solving and artistic results of all my reverbs. Since I saw multiple Bricasti M7s in use at Peter Gabriel's Real World studio a while ago I have been waiting for a Bricasti plug in and I love it.

I like the little one better, fast and easy to use, no distractions. It's like a really good sounding d-verb!

Great review Mike, what a wonderful plugin!
LiquidSonics released another great reverb plugin called Illusion. It has a great sound and so much controls. Also for the early refelctions which I know you like too. I had a hard time finding these kind of custom controls in other reverbs. Plus they have a great Black Friday price for the plugin. If you ever want to do a walkthrough of Illusion, I will be the first to watch :)

Thank you very much for this. You mentioned that using the VLF Reverb is good for sample strings, however I found it added to muddiness when using Lower Strings and had to eq it out. I'd love to know your opinion on this.

I had this for some years and didn't even know there was more presets and that you could keep the decay time locked smh

Hi Mike, in this ever changing landscape of plugin and hardware options, are there really any that become permanent fixtures long enough for them to truly become part of our workflow do you think? The goal is - find your sound and know your flow so well that the engineering part of music creation is as transparent as could possibly be, yet after 20 years I still find my loyalties tested frequently when new products appear on the market with a fancy GUI and some new cutting edge way of emulating some other thing. As a result, I rarely get to know my plugins and hardware intimately, seems as if I'm always in a learning mode and not in a good way, rather that of a perpetual club fisted chimp for whom short cut keys and a sound configuration are much like the hit single I'm destined to write.
My favourite plugins have a limited shelf life, I get bored quickly - the availability of new plugins - the offer of a fresh sonic adventure or empowering insight, are just a short credit card ride away, some last longer than others but honestly the tools that I tend to actually use again and again do not make an impressive list.
I was very curious to know if you yourself have amassed a genuinely stable collection of plugins that you do genuinely incorporate into a well worn and familiar flow. Which plugins for you have truly endured, as in have been around for 10 years and will likely be around for a further 10?
For me, this cycle is reaching a conclusion of sorts I think - I find myself, after everything realising that I actually create better productions when I understand the mechanics of music, rather than technology, better. That said, as I refine my personal approach, I am settling on the idea of the Softube Console with the SSL emulation doing most of the heavy lifting for my mixing, peppered with a small group of other processors - Fabfilter PRO eq, UAD LA2A, Slates Console Emulations, D16's Analog Delay, Waves HDelay, UAD Pultec, Waves V-Comp - I have no particular loyalty to any reverb at this time, none of them have stuck at all, although I found myself liking the LiquidSonics 7th Heaven basic version for its immediacy and rewarding quality - but the wind changes constantly for me on this.
You spoke highly of the Softube Console in your review, so does this mean you use this yourself now? I like the idea of a piece of hardware that would in effect force me to commit to it long term - but do you think this is likely to be long term?
Would you be able to cover any of this ramble some how in one of your videos? Would you be able to run through plugins with any controllers that for you really have proven themselves worthy, that deliver results regardless of technological advances, whose design and sonic imprint are desirable in and of themselves. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

A very balanced review but...why always drums, drums, drums in reverb demonstrations???

Thanks Mike for the video. You covered different presets. If I need to buy one reverb (to be used for Analog instruments like Piano, Electric guitar, strings, drums, which reverb to choose? Seventh Heaven or Softube TSAR-1 or Relab LX480?

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM THE BRICASTI EMULATION FOR THE SLATE DIGITAL REVERB...GRANTED , THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CREATED IT

      HBONTHETRACK my thoughts exactly...

      Major differences:
      1. 7H has full reverb time range up to 30sec for each Preset, VSC has a very limited reverb time range
      2. 7H has independent control of Early Reflections, VSC has no control
      3. 7H has control of Very Low Freq Reverb, VSC has no control
      4. 7H has added delay feed into Later Reflections, VSC None
      5. 7H has reverb time tailoring with 3 zones, VSC has none
      6. 7H has Separate LP for Reflections and Reverb, VSC has none
      7. 7H has Early Reflection and Later Reflections Balance control, VSC has none
      8. 7H has a full 5 band parametric EQ, VSC has Bass, Mid, Treble knobs
VSC is not designed to specifically capture the sound of the Bricasti M7 with all of its features and controls, 7H is specifically designed to do this.
      Hope this helps...
      Cheers!
      Mike
