    We had a 2013 platinum PF for 5 years. The cvt died after 102k miles. Just 2k over the 100,000 extended warranty. Cost us $4500 to replace. The AC died at 125 K. The rear tailgate lift struts were replaced 2x. Once under warranty and once again at 136k miles. Overall we liked the pathfinder and just bought a 2022 platinum addition but only because Nissan switched the transmission to a 9 speed.

    Very helpful! I purchased a new 2017 Pathfinder Platinum trim also. Cooling fan assembly also went bad about 60k miles. Also had a, module go out on the transmission and could not shift the car out of park upon starting, unless I did it manually. Other than the usual maintenance, those are the issues that I have had.

    Bought a brand new 2017 Pathfinder Platinum (Pearl White). I had the same problem with the fan in 2022. However, I bought the OEM part from Nissan (way more than $200 for OEM part, but didn’t trust the eBay part. I had my trusted local mechanic install, and saved about $300 on labor. Also the side view mirrors don’t move via the door controls, I have to adjust manually. Will have my mechanic fix when I bring to him to fix the next problem )said that a while back but nothing else has gone wrong with it. I bring my vehicle to the Nissan dealership for oil changes as I take advantage of their multiple pre-paid oil (synthetic) & filter changes. Cost is about $250 or so for 6 oil changes within 3 years timeframe. Get a free car wash & vacuuming when they do the oil change also! 😂
    You did forget to mention about the Remote Engine Start which is right on the key fob. I also own a Mercedes E-300 with premium package 3 (loaded) and that vehicle you have to subscribe to the service to be able to use the remote start and then you have to do it with your phone, not able to with just the key fob! I also like the surround view camera better than the Mercedes one, Pathfinder’s is more accurate/precise as the Mercedes has a thick b”border” around the vehicle on the screen! Although the Mercedes can park itself! 😂
    I have owned my 2017 Pathfinder Platinum for over 7 years now. I just went over 40,000 miles last week! She still looks and drives great. Have replaced the tires also but I think I bought the original brand model again.I got a hell of a deal back then and great finance rate.

    I have the same vehicle. I just did the recall to replace the ABS system actuator & hope you do yours. My problems were the head unit would black out out. Bad directions on the GPS system, and shows 99.9 mpg gas mileage to this day. They reflashed the head unit two years ago and it fixed most of the problems. Repairs include replacing the weather seal around one window. Problems include hatch not opening when the rear seal got hot - got to remember to clean it. Also the foot wave thing to open the hatch rarely works. My service work includes CVT service and induction system cleaning at 30k miles. It is a GDI engine so remember the valves will carbon up so do your induction cleaning.

    I just bought a 2018 SL midnight edition, a little less than 60,000 km's. Good review as always. I also have a 2017 SL fully loaded with all the options as the Platinum less the hideous wood grain finish. I did pretty much all the same upgrades as you have.
    The only difference is I bought 3D Max Pider floormats that really look good and protect just as well as weathertech and the others but look so much better.
    Lastly I totally agree with this PF ... great ride and I haven't had any issues so far. Going on 36K miles. I think the bad rap it gets is from the previous years 2012-2016 model which had the bad cvt's and the exterior look not as aggressive as the 2017 and beyond.
    I might trade it in a couple of years for the new PF but I would wait till after the 1st model year as to let them fix any 1st year issues and go from there.

    I have a 2017 Pathfinder SL with Premium package. I did all the oil changes myself, and did a CVT fluid drain and refill at 21K miles when the whining noise started. After the drain and re-fill, the CVT fluid pan started to leak.. Luckily it was covered by warranty.

    I thought I was the only one that experienced the cooling fans going out. My 2016 lasted about 37 k or so..replaced them myself as well and not covered by the vehicle warranty which was bs. Also have done my oil changes as well after the service agreement ended. That was a waste of money..next car I purchase absolutely no service agreement.

  • @deldeek
    @deldeek Год назад +2

    I frankly find the pathfinder a better more attractive and aggressive looking than the qx60 , these front headlights are so damn good looking , driven mine from Dallas to Panama City beach and the ride was quiet and smooth , the platinum does offer pretty much everything , even though it was missing apple care play but that was to come in the next models so it’s ok .. it does have multiple usb ports in the center console though with a little opening for the charging cables to sit in without hindering the console cover when closed …and holy smoke this engine got a lot of power , just make sure you keep your hands on the wheel when floor it because the vehicle will do a little sway but it feels good 😂, it’s very spacious I was surprised at how much room it has compared to its previous truck frame generation . One thing to i noticed is when the gas light comes on or when your near to an empty gas tank when you press down hard on the gas it will jitter gasping for gas which wasn’t such a big deal I just try to avoid letting it go all the way empty . The entertainment center even though it’s old but it does what it’s supposed to do and it does it well , the screen is wide enough and it’s touch screen , I even did a video in motion bypass and it works great , I can hook up my phone directly via the audio video inputs in the center console and all my phone screen is right there on the LCD . Love it . Just like he said make sure to keep the maintenance on the vehicle in check and it should run you for a long time . Great video

That’s Actually what made me pull the plug in buying a 2023 Nissan Altima SL seeing how reliable Nissan had been for him as a daily driver because my 2018 M5 is a gas guzzler

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  Год назад +1

      Earlier models of CVT did have problems and Nissan states their transmission fluid is lifetime, which is not. You really need to change out the transmission fluid about every 40k miles. If you maintain it, they do last a long time. Also some RUclips car reviewers have bashed Nissan CVT even though they have never owned one or experienced any problems. People are just repeating what everyone else is saying. Of course if you hear it or see it on RUclips, then it must be true. BTW, I just bought another 2023 Nissan with CVT. Will have a video about it on my channel soon.

      It has a 3.5L V6. All V6 of this generation will get about 12L/100km which is not great for today's standard with all the turbo and hybrid vehicles. But all the Pilot, Atlas, Highlander of that generation is all the same for gas mileage.

    • @dial2fast
      @dial2fast  2 года назад

      The only issue might be the radiator fan bearing noise which you can replace the fan assembly. I made a video of it. But you can't predict when or if the problem will occur. Only other thing is do a CVT transmission fluid change service if you buy the Pathfinder at 51k miles. The mile is still low enough that doing the service now will have the transmission running without problems for a very long time. The recommended CVT fluid change is 35-40k miles. Other than that, it's a great SUV.

    • @dial2fast

      This generation of Pathfinder (R52) all comes with a CVT. There were CVT issues on the 2013-2015 models. They did revise the transmission in 2017 and I have not heard of any issues. But with any Nissan CVT, you should do a transmission fluid change every 50k miles.

      The Nissan Pathfinder's 3rd row air only comes on under a very specific condition. I can't remember the specifics but it's determined by the system itself. Think the user manual has information on it.
