I agree Eric! Sorry it took so long to respond, I had to take some time to clean up work for the business. After Lumion 12 I actually decided that I will be moving my channel to making only Blender content. Thanks for checking out the video though :)
Lumion users: pls add better camera movements, camera rotations, for the love of God give us the freedom to pick the renders sizes, make it easy to import animations, make the lights more realistic, rig ur characters so we can have an infinite amount of positions... Lumion 12: Here, have some random license plates ; )
That's kind of where I am coming from. We try to remove as many little things like that (without hurting the realism) because the smaller the object/material it seems the more the clients tend to focus in on it.
It is pretty weird with the traffic lights/street signs, since they are so different it feels like any asset Lumion adds is not going to be touched by a huge portion of the user base.
A simple but useful feature they could have added would be Portrait Orientation in the Rendering Output. I agree on License Plates, should just make it so the Background Colour can be changed and then Letters and Number added in the Font and colour of choice.
I agree, it's weird to me that they haven't added any kind of crop features as I feel like that wouldn't be terribly hard. They would just have to write some kind of code that uses the windows photo application. It can crop photos so I don't see why Lumion couldn't use it to crop them.
Haha I was going to ask you if they included Australian licence plates.. and you actually selected the exact one I would use here (QLD, Aust). So, now I have the ability to render cars in Lumion with the correct plates.. but the driver/steering wheel is still on the wrong side 🙄 Hopeless. I'm assuming they haven't added the ability to mirror objects in their library?
LOL I have never realized that the driver is only on the American side of the car. They didn't add it, but I assume it is very difficult to do in the engine or it causes some kind of meltdown because it seems like such an obvious feature I don't understand why they wouldn't have it.
@@LuminousLabs It's the same with all objects in their library - eg. can't flip an L-shaped lounge to fit the space, buses have the door on the wrong side etc. It doesn't matter so much for vehicles in the distance but not great for up close. I don't use many of the Lumion furniture objects anyway but would be nice to have the option of flipping the axis. BTW I love your thumbnail for this video LOL. The sarcasm is on point :)
I saw that! I really like the idea of them having the real-time rendering, with path-tracing for when higher quality is needed. Twinmotion really picked it up!
thinks for still making the videos for Lu12 ,its truly a bummer to see an upgrade like this

The camera movement tools are the ones that hurt the most in my opinion. It is crazy there isn't a way to just advanced move the camera how you want.
Never had a client ask why there is not a license plate.

Lmaoooooo I’m glad australia joined because I swear they don’t have any of our street signs 💀 also weird (US I’m assuming) traffic lights

Thank you 👍👍👍
You're welcome as always my friend!

Lol.. twinmotion now has patch tracing btw..

AND........ they could have sorted out the Custom Asset Library so that Sub-folders can be created.
This is what I was really hoping to see :(
Lumion 12 is a small update at best. It doesnt deserve its own release with 3k euros price tag
I agree :( I really thought they had some cool features in store. While I thought some were neat there weren't any game-changers.
I think its useless update. Most people will use this app for fast rendering with good quality output. I agree on what u said. 👍👍
I get what they were going for, but without the ability to add the custom ones in, I feel like at least 50% of the user base has no use for them.
A client asked me for a particular license plate...
Are you one of the lucky ones whos country made the cut
@@LuminousLabs France...
it's lumion 11.9
Hahahaha I like that. It is kind of a sad one, if you look at how much came out in Lumion 9 it was some incredible features
I actually liked 11 a lot too, I felt that had a ton of cool features.
I'd say it's more of a 10.6 😂
