I think this was a well done video. I don't need to swap my pump but I'll know what to look for. tHanks for the video...I'll check in to your channel again!
Great work pal, I got a 2008 Accord I’m working on at the moment. Is the same exact process, but I also have a 2006 Ridgeline that needs the PS Pump replaced. This will help me out a bunch, I went on and bought the tool to remove the serpentine belt at Harbor freight for $20. It makes it very easy to change / remove the belt.
Good job. I replaced the pump on my Ridgeline 06 because the power steering was foaming. And that did not fixed it. Now I'm thinking I should had replaced the reservoir.
@@hondaresource I live in Northeast Pennsylvania so it’s very very cold out right now my friends power steering pump went in my own driveway and I can’t get the local AutoZone to find the pump for his 2005 Honda Ridgeline ; they’re claiming there is no such thing? Do you happen to have a part number that I can work with I would greatly appreciate it thank you your video was very very good
@@hondaresource our Northeast Pennsylvania local AutoZone once between $200 dollars to $265 dollars for the pump alone with approximately an $80 core charge ; compared to the rock Auto like you suggested I go to ?????
@@hondaresource but my point was rock Auto was over 50% cheaper I mean AutoZone and Napa Auto stores are Rippon all of us customers off in Northeast PA may I ask what state and city you’re from and by the way…. I enjoyed your video very very much and very informative
Thanks for this video. Ordered my pump and reservoir this morning from Rock Auto.
Awesome!

You make this look way easier than it most likely is
meh, you can do it!
Like the handmade tool you built
It works like a charm
@@hondaresource you should market it 👍🏼 you could probably make a profit off it.
Thanks for the video. you made it look so simple

O-rings?
Wrong fluid
You probably used normal power steering fluid instead of designed for honda
Great vid. Subscribed and liked

Hey man, that was great! Thanks for the info.
Thank you. 💜💜💜
No problem 😊
Woohoo! I have power Steering!!!!💜💜💜
Great video, is there a list of torque specs when putting everything back together?
the 10mm bolts holding the lines are 8.7 ft/lb. The 12mm bolts holding pump to engine are 16 ft/lb
The Honda Resource thank you!!!
I have an 08 Ridgeline. Do you have more videos on repair for this model or for this type of vehicle.
Unfortunately / fortunately this is the only Ridgeline that has been through my shop, and the only repair I've done on it.
Do you recommend blue loctite on the nut for the pulley or just torque it down?
Just torque it down
@@hondaresource will do, thanks for the reply.
Very well done
Thank you very much!
Helpful. Thanks.
Good 👍😎
How long did it take you to remove and reinstall the power steering pump. ?
Less than 1 hour

Mines is still making noise. Any ideas what im doing wrong,
Did you swap the o rings on the pump? Is the fluid in the reservoir foamy?

What are the signs of pump needing replaced?
Usually they will whine while full of fluid or leak from seals other than the hoses. The v6 pumps are notorious for issues across the Honda platform.
@@hondaresource my pulley is squeaking, tried lubing it, went quiet for a minute then got louder
@@winterfrinzl7386 is your belt worn out?
@@hondaresource no, it looks just fine
Why do mechanic shops charge you for four hours of labor for this? It seems like if you have all the parts and tools it can be done in an hour.
I'm not sure. Labor guide only pays 1.3
Great !!!
