I gave up sugar over a year ago by eating a savory high protein breakfast every day. I feel so much better for it . I love your app and use it most days to cook interesting delicious nutritious meal. Hearing this podcast makes me feel motivated to continue being sugar free.
Going to share this on Facebook because I can see in your last three podcast you’re trying to prepare people. They’re going to be talking about losing weight after the first of the year. I’ve done that before myself but now eating right and eating good it isn’t something for January it’s something for all 12 months
Overcoming my sugar addiction is the biggest struggle of my life. I am 55, I’ve never tried smoking or drugs, and I only drink alcohol in social situations and in minimal amounts. So, sugar has been my poison. For the past two years, I’ve made significant changes to how and when I eat, incorporating a lot more plants and fiber into my diet. However, I still can’t completely say no to sugar. While I’ve made progress and it’s much better now, I’m not quite there yet. I hope to reach a point where I feel about sugar and processed sweets the same way I have felt - all my life - when near someone who is smoking: I just want to get away.
They are but they have fiber along with it - so not exactly the same effect as the added sugar present everywhere. In the middle east they often have dates along with nuts, which contain protein, fat, and extra fiber. All these will slow the speed at which the sugar in dates will be absorbed, making it less harmful than crystallized sugar.
To quit eating sugar would surely mean eating a carnivore/lion diet? Whole grain rice or even quinoa is simply sugar in a wrap that has longer molecules than a banana.
