My guy let me tell you somethin. I watched the first like 4 tips and listened to the rest while testing it out, 5 homeruns back to back almost immediately! I have never commented on a video but I am in a bit of disbelief at how much this helped my game. Thank you!
I've been trying out your tips for a few weeks now. I can't believe how much you've helped me. I was seriously thinking of giving up on the game. Thank you.
It's funny I stare at the hat too, never heard anyone else mention that lol. As a former player I learned to hit by literally standing up and getting in a basic stance and instead of swinging I would hit the button on the controller lol. I know that's a little OD but that's the only thing I could think of a few yrs ago haha. I found it helped a lot with adjusting to off speed pitches in particular.
Had hardest time getting through the Paul Skenes Showdown but after watching this vid & using the advice, I rolled through all 3 so damn easy. HELPED A TON.
Just like to say, I have been hitting atrociously this year, and this video has change my whole outlook on the game. Thank you. I have been having way more quality at bats and I’m going to watch this exact video every time I turn on the game. Thank you.
This was extremely helpful i gave up the game last year becaus i got so frustrated but i wanted to try again this year and these tips really made me better, i used to hit nothing but now im getting a hit with almost every time im at bat. Thanks man.
Here’s a good tip. Never steal until you have one strike. Lead off with left bumper. When the pitcher looks at first base, stop the game with Right trigger, holding it down. While the game is still stopped, lead off one more time with left trigger. Unpause by releasing right trigger. You’ll get a good steal 75% of the time.
@@TheMusicolophilestealing is situational. There are a lot of times where you absolutely should run on the first pitch. For instance, you have one or two outs with a very good base stealer on first = 90 or better speed and more importantly 90 or better BR and you have a hitter up with very high clutch -better than 110. If you don’t go on the first pitch you basically limit your chances of driving in that runner to one pitch. The pitch you waited to run on is likely to be a strike because good players pitch ahead, now you can’t swing on the next pitch because you’re running, so now you’re down 0-2 with the guy on second. Get that runner into scoring position as soon as possible, it greatly increases your odds of scoring. Just don’t run on the first pitch every time throughout one game, obviously. One more thing, your jump is 100% related to the runners BR. The higher the BR the more consistent he’ll be on getting good jumps. It’s not worth taking leads, a simple hook slide gives you the same advantage as that extra step without the risk of being picked off. I never take a lead, not ever and I’m still successful 90+% of the time. The hook slide basically breaks base stealing. Guys appear thrown out by 2-3 steps and still manage to avoid the tag.
It definitely seems to have gotten harder. I go into slumps and then get red hot for several games without rhyme or reason. I’m not doing anything different, even with similarly skilled opponents, I’ll score double digit runs for 5 games followed by 3-4 games where it’s hard to scratch out 2 runs.
@@joseharber8354you’re right but when it feels like the game forces you into a slump it’s hard lol but yeah you’ll come back to where you were eventually and I’m sure legends felt the same “I’m doing the same thing, why isn’t it working?”
You have NO IDEA how much this helped me oh my god . I'm playing on the easiest mode but this still REALLY helped me. After I watched this video I won 2 consecutive games and in my second game I got 3 homers!!!!! It was such an epic game . And also in both of my games I got so many hits. LIFESAVER
Hey man, I usually don't go for these kinds of videos, but I found myself really struggling to hit with the PCI. I'm not a veteran of the series. Your tips were really helpful. Specifically, the tip that helped the most was watching the pitcher's cap. It sounded silly as hell at first but I tried it and you really do LOCK ON to the ball as soon as it comes out of the hand. I've actually been getting more 3-2 counts and walks just because I'm picking it up earlier. I did notice all my swings are early now, but that's probably cause I'm recognizing the pitch earlier. I also liked your description of the PCI anchors and, even though it's not your thing, I find anchoring up and in is really helpful for me. Thanks, and subbed.
Im happy you mentioned thumb placement. I play a 1000 different mind games thinking my thumb needs to be on a certain part of the joystick for different scenarios, or batters or if im pressing it too hard or lightly when its really as simple as relaxing i have noticed to be more relaxed when talking throughout the game instead of being silent and i tend to overreact the PCI
As far as timing goes, I don’t really touch the thumb sticks. I use similar movements to my real stance. Twitch my hands, so my right hand twitches the controller like it does the bat, I bat lefty so right hand. And a nice tempo right foot toe tap. Right when the windup starts I “set” (pull the controller in) and stay still.
Awesome tips man. I’m more experienced and have built some of these into my game from experience but it was very refreshing to hear all this tips and learn so many new things.
First week of this game being out they felt juiced up. I pulled quite a few diamonds in one day. Last few days my packs from conquest have been completely shite
Thank you so much for this gem of a video. I am from the UK where we do not understand the baseball terms fully. I love baseball, but I fell 'foul' (pun intended), of swinging at everything. Your advice to put controller down does train your thoughts to 'wait' for the best pitch. Thank you.
Don’t really comment on videos much but man your tips and the way you just keep it real on hitting made me follow you, you def deserve a sub after this gem 😂 Gonna try these out and hopefully I’ll improve cause I’m dog shit at the plate right now 😂
I get strike zone makes it easier but I enjoy seeing my players, but great tips tho man, I died laughing when u we’re like Bam! Bam! Bam! Hitting the corners because I was doing that before I watched this video trying to get something to get my hitting going 😂
Thank you! I just started playing this on Tuesday it’s my first baseball game and I never really played baseball so I don’t understand a lot. I just dove into online cause I figured might as well it’s the only gonna get better and I haven’t won yet. Came close a couple times but I lost cause I feel like I just don’t understand the game yet. Especially out fielding. Idk why but sometimes my person doesn’t throw the ball right away it just does like a pump fake. And also I get made fun of for being a Rockies fan I mean since well I’m Colorado fan so I wanna use my team you know? Lol
Personally I swing with analog I feel like it allows me to be more patient and not swing at balls as much. I also don't use pci at all I just use timing. I just strike out none stop with pci.
This game just became free. I’ve never played mlb. I’ve never ever watched baseball. I need tips on EVERYTHING if ppl can it’s so good and I’ll be so grateful
When you’re playing competitively (online vs ppl) it really is imperative that you use the zoomed in camera. He gives a bunch of great tips on this video, so I’d recommend just rewatching this. I mention the camera because new players tend to use the default cam for the aesthetics. Don’t!
I’m absolutely horrendous at this game one time it’s my placement one time it’s the timing I just can’t seem to catch a break I have such a hard time putting the ball in play I’m good at every single other part of the game but hitting and sorry but even with your tips it makes me seem like I want to punch a hole into my monitor
I'm currently playing it through Game Pass on PC and its good for casual. But not competitive. I'm late on almost every pitch because of input lag. I have to identify the pitch even quicker because of it and swing way before the ball even gets to the plate. Playing on anything more than veteran on this kind of input lag is INSANE for me. I rarely get perfect timing because of this also.
How do I stop lining out and hitting balls into the air? I’m new to baseball but all my hits look like they are floating in the air and are super easy for defend
Wait how does your game look like this? Mine is all zoomed out and doesn’t have a little bat outline moving around haha. I do have it set to timing only, but would prefer this zoomed in look since I usually can’t see the ball or get the timing right
They have an aftermarket thing called control freaks, its basically an inner tube for your joysticks and they can stop you from pushing the sticks as fast or as far. :)
So I’ve been struggling with the new settings. I have guess pitch set to classic. But when I guess the pitch it shows exactly where the pitch will hit but my pci gets locked in place, so I can’t move it to get under or above the pitch. I have tried all the setting like classic, no response, etc. this is driving me crazy. Any idea how to put it to where I can move my pci after guessing pitch?
I'm still playing 23. Can someone please tell me if they fixed the check swinging in the new game? Honestly I'm ready to stop playing this game due to the check swing problems

I find that when I try to aim down, I always go way too far without realizing it, so sometimes I set my PCI higher up to help adjust for it.
It's dope knowing Andrew Santino gives tips on being patient
I was down 6-2 in top nine and came back after watching this

It's so hard batting In this game jesus christ. Pitching I'm okay with but batting is just hard.

This is 100% why I always open packs as soon as I get them. It's much easier to swallow never getting good pulls 1 at a time.

my tip for pci placement is practice with no center dot because usually anything in the wedge is good contact if you time it like you said
Is there certain times to use the different types of swings? Like power swing, contact, and normal. Or do you just always use one, if so which one
95% of the time I use only normal, never power shrinks pci too much and contact in 2 strike counts sometimes
won a game immediately following watching this 2-0 with 2 solo HRs. Actually hit 1 seconds after watching on a 1st pitch HR so I thank, you kind sir

Great tips! I absolutely SUCK at hitting and want to master zone hitting...which batting interface is that?
Just go to settings and change your PCI indicator to the bat like he has
He makes MLB the show 24 fun even tho I’m Struggling.. keep up the good work I laughed all through the tips 😂.. thx for the tips bro!!
I don't use PCI i like just good ole fashion timing at the plate feels for more immersive to me
