Driver seems to be "right hand dominated " Its just an observation, not a criticism, that when braking and down shifting the driver is very passive with steering by the left hand only , and he grabs the wheel for last second adjustments after the last downshift is completed . I would , put the shifter on the left hand side of the kart . The easy way to see if its true what im saying is go out and set a test through tight 90deg turn cones and straights , steer with 1 hand only and stopwatch it . I suspect it will be very clear.

Living in Germany I regularly ride my bike at 150mph, but 130 mph with your backside 2" above the ground must be an amazing adrenalin rush.
