- The best on track battle I've had in F1000
This time we got straight into the race action!
No rear cam for this unfortunately, but plenty of drama in front.
Oulton Park Race 2
Better to watch than F1
Best comment I’ve ever had
Indeed , i like a lot when you drift also
Good to see your lap times coming down gradually as you got smoother. Oulton is by far the most technical circuit in the UK to drive.
@@Meeshka32 more so than Cadwell? It’s my favourite circuit to drive that’s for sure!
Well Done! Crazy how close to the limit for both the car and driver. Thanks for posting and I hope you have a great season in' 24
Thanks for posting and I subcribed.
Appreciate that! I’m about 3 seconds off the top drivers currently, roughly half of that is due to old tyres vs new. So I wouldn’t say limit of the car, there is a lot left in it, but definitely at the limit of my ability and the tyres which makes it fun
Commentary with actual audio! Keep rockin’ it dude!
Appreciate it!
i was on edge of my seat watching you trying to get back infront lol. Great race!! thats made me turn on iracing for the evening now hahaha
I am too watching back! Should have got him really. Enjoy an evening of racing, what rig do you have?
@@ChapmansCorner I've got a Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor but only got a thrust master ts-xw setup for now, I was going to build my own SIM rig but I haven't got the space, (just had to come off the game, got pole position at Suzuka in F4 and someone took me out on the first corner, I felt like Lewis Hamilton then 😂)
Great race dude. Really enjoyed that (besides the bloody camera setting making the front of the car move around 😤)
You really have a crack man, its great to watch 🙂
Appreciate that! Sorry for that, I am working on it. Took off hypersmooth for testing before the race, but attached to the bodywork which shook it so much the footage is useless. I was fuming. Lesson - attach to the chassis not bodywork if you're turning off hypersmooth.
love the channel, so thankfull the uk has such a good club motorsport scene
Thanks! Yes I am glad to be part of it now. Do you race?
@@ChapmansCorner not yet. Fingers crossed
@@thomasberry8873 what are you going to race?
Great racing. Thanks for sharing.
It made me automatically jump into Assetto Corsa with the Formula Mazda mod at Oulton´s Island
Appreciate it! I hope we run the full layout next year, apparently that section past the hairpin is wild at top speed and the banked corner. I hate the hairpin haha
I’m trying to find an F1000 mod for AC. Is the Mazda similar?
had me sweating! Love it.
Thanks Gareth! Was sweating in the car
The hairpin was your weakness at that track turn 1 definitely your strength good racing
Absolutely, couldn't find the grip, should have tried the outside line! Shame it wasn't the GP circuit layout, that hairpin doesn't exist.
@ChapmansCorner thought it looked slow into the corner then you were not braking as deep into and V -ing off the corner to get on the power earlier
Great commentary of your race. I think I'll do this for my next one
Do it! It’s great fun reviewing it and learning to analyse it better
Great racing and analysis! Well done mate 🚀
Thoroughly enjoyed that. 👍🏼 Well done!!
Thanks!
I don’t how this video showed up on my algorithm, but I decided to check out the video. I like it very much.
Glad you enjoyed it! What do you typically watch?
@@ChapmansCorner I usually watch F1, IndyCar, WEC, IMSA, & motorcycles racing. Also, I attend races.
BEAUTIFUL DRIVE
Appreciate that! Plenty to improve on but great racing
Great race. Feel like you let Rob back in front for the footage 😂
Would have been boring watch me to drive round on my own because the rear cam was broken 👀
This was amazing to watch. You’re leaving way too much rotation to do on you hairpin. You’re meeting the apex before the geometrical line.
Appreciate that! Yes makes sense what you’re saying
Really great video. I was literally willing you on. Hmm think I might wanna try F1000? 🤔😎
That was close to disaster and you must have been crapping yourself! Well done for collecting yourself up and keep your head.
The cars look so very twitchy, I guess throttle control is vital?
BTW - I didn’t hate your head talking lol.
Haha yes for those few seconds I thought it was game over.
Yes twitchy but they seem to be quite forgiving, look how many times I save the car and I’ve done 3 races now. They do exactly what you want, they’re predictable. I had 4 weekend old tyres on though and most other drivers have new tyres so that’s a big factor; 1 second difference at least
@@ChapmansCorner true, looked like the car was predictable and forgiving. You always had time to catch it.
Watching on it’s probably scarier because when driving you’re feeling it and it’s okay.
If you consider hiring for a track day then let me know , it might help pay for new boots lol
Amazing action! Hopefully you’ll sort out the oversteer issue if it wasn’t tyre related
Mix of 4 weekend old tyres and rookie driver mashing them!
definitely following. great content
Awesome, thank you!
Seems like wider tires would be great for this series.
They’re already pretty expensive! But you’re right, I’ll ask some of the mechanics next race
Well done anyway 👏
So nice , can you try one video without stability camera , fixed point ,??
@@povdrivekls8369 I wish I could mate! My body work wobbles too much to switch it off.
Clamp is too much faff when I need to take the engine cover off (which is a lot)
I’m trying to work on a solution, it’s tough
@@ChapmansCorner i know it s hard to have a fixed cam 😊 i filmed a lot of povs too ❤
@@povdrivekls8369 what did you use for fixed? AIM wired or a better GoPro mount?
It didn t work for me too :D i just used normal gopro supports but i still had a lot vibrations
My dad was dave he showed me this qnd i just was so mad when he locked the reason was he had break issues hes had it every race now
I didn’t know that! That’s unlucky. These cars are so unreliable haha
Shame he went out of the race with me and Rob, would have been better with 3 of us. If you saw the video before, me and you dad had a great battle for a few laps! Got the rear cam as well
Great video!! If you hit someone like that are you expected to help them with any repairs or naa?
No, it’s just racing! Fortunately that wasn’t much damage.
I can imagine if it’s obviously your fault there might be a situation where they might come asking for money!
@@ChapmansCorner right on. thanks for answering!
@@dvelez811 thanks for the comment!
Bro use every corner so bad, i will be faster both of them by one second, i was watching and screaming “ what you doing take the apex right way” but it was so fun to watch great race
I kinda like a talking head but i dont like a big intro. Maybe you could have a square in the corner for the first 30 secs. idk just an idea.
Great idea! I will try that for the next video, thank you
Dava pra passar só isso que eu digo
Hey man, im 16 and i rlly am struggling to try find my footing in motorsport due to cost issues. How do you afford it all? the transport, the car, the fuel, entries. I rlly wanna race for a career and im just looking for a bit of advice please.
That’s the problem most people face. Check out my other video, how to get into F1000. I cover the basics, the main part is - are you karting yet? That is the cheapest and most common way into motorsport. All of the greats started there.
I started at 31 and I have a good job. If I was you at 16, I would go karting as much as possible, get good, enter competitions and meet people. Then next season go to loads of car races and meet people in the pits, maybe get a job with a team whilst trying to improve driving
Id go for plan B. Get a good career...make lots of money. Then be a gentleman racer on the bankroll. Realistically you are already 10 years late starting racing (in karts) and have almost no chance of any kind of professional career (unless very wealthy). I grew up with rallying in my family and friends who raced saloons very sucessfuly...and one who raced F5000 against the F1s greats in the 70s, he didnt make F1 for one main reason...no money. My old man told me racing was like burning bundles of £50 notes. Meantime go karting....even if its just occasional arrive-and-drive. It will teach you the racecraft and learn what its actually like wheel to wheel...and its nothing like you see on the telly on a Sunday. Its more fun...but you also get to pick up the pieces and the repair bills.
THAT was a "Collison????" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Clickbait!
Stick to sim racing bud
Yeah, right 😂
