  • It's been 25 years since the Vintage RX was released by Tamiya. Well, we now have a rerelease on our hands with this 25th-anniversary edition. Is this one for the collectors or is it just not special enough? One thing is for sure, Tamiya pulled it out of the bag with the box art and decal design this time.

    I like that tamiya make different body styles for buggies. I don’t want some generic modern truggy. It’s not for everyone but for some people it’s a nice option.

    NOT a Collector's Buggy. This was made for fun, and that's the only reason I'd have one.

    I love the box for that buggy, looks fantastic! The only minus points for me are that they should have at least included the Torque Tuned motor, that motor comes with the Racing Fighter and definitely makes a difference. The other thing is..........plastic bushings!! Come on Tamiya, pull your finger out!

    Tamiya make different kits for different levels of enthusiast or hobbyist if your after something modern and of a higher quality they do stuff like the TC01 etc or the new ta08 , saying that we could do with a new modern buggy. Anyway the the Fighter Rx memorial celebrates 25 years since it was first introduced as the DT01 chassis and used in fighter buggy cup in Europe. I think it’s cool even if its more toy like

  • @Mini-z1994
    @Mini-z1994 3 года назад +2

    Add in a sensored brushless motor into this & I'd imagine it would show it's capabilities pretty well, like a 2500 - 3000 kv sensored motor on 2s lipo with the tamiya esc & running an external lipo alarm if there is room for it, should be a 13.5 turn motor which the Tamiya esc shouldn't have issues with.
    Kind of want too see them do this kind of look with the dt02 desert gator or sand viper, black & gold but perhaps do grey or chrome wheels or just entirely black wheels with some decals too add on like a red stripe around the ring of them

    Got mine in today and was actually quite impressed with the packaging. May well sit on this and see if it grows on me. Kit cost is pretty low so I'm not fussed about selling on if I don't fancy it just yet and with the swanky packaging may well have a reasonable re-sell value... 🤷‍♂️

    This is an entry level buggy and aimed at a younger person starting out. In my opinion this kit is too expensive. Drop the oil filled shocks but add the bearings and bring the price down to £80 Tamiya. This is no performer but a fun bash about for a beginner nothing more.

      @@RCKickschannel I know they can get the units sold even though they price high and the manufacturing techniques of the WLToys may be morally questionable (?) but I would have thought that Tamiya would be looking to grow their market share by putting out either better equipped kits or making their priced more realistic and in line with other companies.
      For instance you can get a couple of Kyosho kits for similar money to something like the Egress or Top Force Evo...
      That's just madness! 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
