  • Keno City, Yukon is home to colorful characters, stunning scenery and living history. Once a booming frontier mining town, Keno City was named after the popular gambling game. Today, this sleepy hamlet is a rustic cluster of buildings and home to an eclectic mix of artists, miners and old timers with fewer than 20 full-time residents.

Thanks for showing the Signpost. I was married there many decades ago -glad to see it still survives. Keno City has grown! In the early '70s there were 60 residents including dogs.

evony tree my family moved from Elsa thirty years ago and my dad who is Lloyd Melnychuk continued mining until 2001 when he retired. I do not know if you knew him. He started working there in 1971. That would be so cool if you knew my father

There's gold in the creeks, but the Keno Hill mine was silver, lead, zinc. Trace gold paid the freight to Skagway.
