Another thing to avoid making a mistake and wasting a lot of time is to look through the items and find the unique or possibly hard-to-find items and go get those first before you swipe start. This way you avoid wasting all that time looking for hard to find items especially if you have to ask an employee to help you or what not. Then you can scan those items the same time as all the other items. This has really helped me big time
@@JENontheGO btw I wanted to tell you that I've had 3 total batches now where there was someone else on the chat prior to me. I found out quick from the customer that it was an order from earlier that had been abandoned. The shopper must have just canceled and left for whatever reason. The second time it happened it was the same situation. The customer is waiting on the order and there was another shopper who did not finish the order and I had to finish it and it even shows all the items that had already been picked. And the third time it was because there is an in-store Shopper who works at the store as an employee and I was just simply doing that pickup and delivery. So I believe if that ever happens to anyone it's simply because the chat follows the order and if someone canceled it you can see everything that already happened even after they canceled it

Love number 5. I work in a grocery store and I can't tell you how many Instacart shoppers don't know how a grocery store works. No, the deli won't have the raw steak or seafood or bread or flowers or canned goods. Know the layout before you shop. Store employees will help you find a few things and of course help you in their designated departments, but don't expect the employees to show you everything on your list.
I signed up for several gigs as I have run out of cash. Tomorrow is my first day working a gig job in a number of years, I used your videos to learn all the ins and outs - there was quite a bit I was able to learn. Thanks for the videos.
U have no idea how many times I tell fellow shoppers MOVE ON. they stay stuck on 1 flaw and that hang up kills their shops. Seriously, MOVE ON and make that money. If I'm not in motion=I'm NOT making money. Easiest way to explain it. Love your cap!

Thanks for the great video. These are all great mistakes to avoid. I know you talked about this before but a pretty big mistake is when you're doing double batches and you mix up the items and the other person gets charged for the wrong items and that whole situation and get really dicey. Lots of things going on that needs to be done to keep things separated and then double checking the items at certain times even if you think you got them separated. I've realized I accidentally put one item with another batch numerous times right before checkout even with me being very on top of it. Now I just write a and b on my hand😂 and then I write their names so that there's absolutely no confusion especially if I'm going to chat with that person I need to know the name. Just lots and lots of moving factors with double batches that people can make easy mistakes
I mixed up a 3 order batch. It was my first ever order and it was at a store I’ve never shopped at. I made $38, but it took me 4 long hours to complete. 🤦🏻♀️ Rookie mistake. Wrong items were charged, took forever to find stuff, asked for lots of help and still screwed up. 😩 store didn’t know how to fix it, had to wait til they figured it out, held up another IC shopper, and I felt bad for that. He was really nice and understood what happened. He gave me some suggestions-use colored stickies to keep stuff organized. I also noticed he had a lanyard with his phone in a case. I went ahead and got myself one because it makes it so much easier than trying to hold your phone in your hand at all times and worry about dropping it or where to put it when you’re picking up items, especially big items. Anyway, after the store fixed it, I had to contact support because the card wouldn’t go through. So, yeah. It was a huge problem. 🤦🏻♀️

@@JENontheGO I'm a true air sign /airhead 🧙 I agree about the time stamp app last week's mission to replace a roast 🐔 I used my timestamp app to find the address of the customer yet when I got there the house really didn't match up with the address whatsoever so I reverted to my GPS and went to the house that I thought it surely must be 🤔 however I'm still scratching my head because the photo I took mostly focused on my lovely bags and not the house 🤗 so either somebody received a roast chicken or the right customer did I'm still scratching my head over it 😳 today I noticed in timestamp doesn't put the address on the photo anymore? 🤯

Hi Jen. You’ve been so helpful. I’m new and have learned more from you than the app. My very first delivery I handed them to him and he said he never got them. I couldn’t believe it! How do you photo when they are standing there? My second order was really big and even though the barcode on my prepaid said “scan successful” after ringing up she said it didn’t go through. Everything had to be re rung up. No live person to talk to. I was ready to waLk away 🤦♀️.

I have someone that said 3 items was missing. I reported back that I was very careful and I'm sure they have the items. But I noticed my batches have gotten bad after about a week. How long will this last?
Yesterday was my first day. Only did 2 order cause most of them where way too far. I refuse the triple batches since I was to nervous to do it. But ill keep trying to see if I can stick with it as a pt job during weekends. Thanks for your tips!
I’m not an Instacart shopper but for some reason your channel showed up in my recommended’s and since I use Instacart and have family that used to work for the company I decided to watch. I just wanted to say that shopper’s do make delivery mistakes. I once had a guy who delivered my groceries to the wrong house and took a picture of it. When I called Instacart they replaced my groceries but implied I was lying which made me really mad. They backed down when I told them he’d sent a picture of the wrong house but I didn’t like their attitude. I wasn’t the only one either, there was a rash of neighbors who were having Instacart orders showing up on their porch when they hadn’t ordered anything.

I completely agree that shoppers do make mistakes, and I will add that unfortunately there are shoppers that have no business being Instacart Shoppers, and I blame this on Instacart for their lack of vetting of the shoppers. I am so sorry Instacart insinuated you were not being truthful and I do know there are plenty of orders that are definitely not delivered to the right place. I would love to do a video from the customer standpoint, and welcome any feedback you'd like to add in addition to what you commented. actually I got a customer reported me for fraudulence due to the fact that i delivered his order late, I got deactivated after that and all effort tried speaking with the customer service for reactivation doesn't even count but I'm grateful to the above name zihacking, who just got me reactivated and I'm now fully back to work with IC

Mistake #7 can be fixed by going to the bottom left corner of main menu Account> Reimbursement Requests Tab to Make New Request Select the day/time and store for the order Instacart will reimburse the shopper Entre the amount and reason "damaged card" and photo for receipt.
I've been also taking a photo in the driveway of the drop off with Timestamp.... just in case those slippers and bathrobe people take the groceries in before the photo shoot... AND the house number, too..

Just take pictures and youll be fine. Take a picture of the street sign, a pic of the groceries on the curb in front their house which shows the house and the streeet number, an overhead shot of all the bags together or all the individual bags to show the contents and a picture at their door. Ik its alot but its wrth it. Also like jen said in another video, be sure to send them that messaage of u having just delivered to them and you having checked and everything is in tact b4 u swipe complete. Clearly a dedicated cellphone with a large memory capacity would be a good idea. Not only for handling customer contact, but all the photos needed. The shoppers who come into the store all take a picture of the receipt and the items before they leave the store.
And srsly, to other experienced shoppers, please please share problems that you've encountered or even mistakes you've made and how you dealt with them. I need this so badly.

so how can we take a pic of dropped off groceries if they are all in bags? how can we prove they are all there if we need proof if you cant see in the bags? meaning client claiming missing items etc.......
You can see the customer tip right on the batch screen when you press that order, before you accept. Please check the tip to make sure it's there, before you accept. 💛
Do you know what android phones work on the Instacart app? Just bought Samsung a70, updated app & doesn't work... I can see batches but can't retrieve them.
I've been an Instacart customer for about a year now. I've had about 20 deliveries. NO shopper has ever introduced themselves. I was surprised to learn that they're encouraged to do so.
don't expect too much as in luxury hotel. the shoppers just earn the minimum wages. Maybe they don't have energy and time to chat with you. Harry up and struggle for the next delivery.

Please don’t be nervous. Just be incredibly selective when choosing your batches. Make sure the miles makes sense for you and that there is a customer tip attached. 💛 you will be fine!

I've NEVER had a bad IC experience! The folks I've had have been professional and well.....just perfect!

Keep your new card for safe keeping and only activate it when your old card is lost or not working. 💛

Hi Jen. You’ve been so helpful. I’m new and have learned more from you than the app. My very first delivery I handed them to him and he said he never got them. I couldn’t believe it! How do you photo when they are standing there? My second order was really big and even though the barcode on my prepaid said “scan successful” after ringing up she said it didn’t go through. Everything had to be re rung up. No live person to talk to. I was ready to waLk away 🤦♀️.

I have someone that said 3 items was missing. I reported back that I was very careful and I'm sure they have the items. But I noticed my batches have gotten bad after about a week. How long will this last?
Yesterday was my first day. Only did 2 order cause most of them where way too far. I refuse the triple batches since I was to nervous to do it. But ill keep trying to see if I can stick with it as a pt job during weekends. Thanks for your tips!
I’m not an Instacart shopper but for some reason your channel showed up in my recommended’s and since I use Instacart and have family that used to work for the company I decided to watch. I just wanted to say that shopper’s do make delivery mistakes. I once had a guy who delivered my groceries to the wrong house and took a picture of it. When I called Instacart they replaced my groceries but implied I was lying which made
me really mad. They backed down when I told them he’d sent a picture of the wrong house but I didn’t like their attitude. I wasn’t the only one either, there was a rash of neighbors who were having Instacart orders showing up on their porch when they hadn’t ordered anything.

I completely agree that shoppers do make mistakes, and I will add that unfortunately there are shoppers that have no business being Instacart Shoppers, and I blame this on Instacart for their lack of vetting of the shoppers. I am so sorry Instacart insinuated you were not being truthful and I do know there are plenty of orders that are definitely not delivered to the right place. I would love to do a video from the customer standpoint, and welcome any feedback you'd like to add in addition to what you commented. actually I got a customer reported me for fraudulence due to the fact that i delivered his order late, I got deactivated after that and all effort tried speaking with the customer service for reactivation doesn't even count but I'm grateful to the above name zihacking, who just got me reactivated and I'm now fully back to work with IC

Entre the amount and reason "damaged card" and photo for receipt.

Top 10 mistake happened to me today (imagine being halfway through shopping for an order, only to realize that you left uour Instacart Payment card at home). In Canada, we can't get the Google Pay App on our phone, so we always need the physical card.

Hey Jen, just wondering if us shoppers would be able to file a class action lawsuit & sue instacart as well as the customers for slander due to falsely claiming missing items? Which results in low ratings and a big decline in wages or deactivations. Let me know what you think 🤔
Just take pictures and youll be fine. Take a picture of the street sign, a pic of the groceries on the curb in front their house which shows the house and the streeet number, an overhead shot of all the bags together or all the individual bags to show the contents and a picture at their door. Ik its alot but its wrth it. Also like jen said in another video, be sure to send them that messaage of u having just delivered to them and you having checked and everything is in tact b4 u swipe complete. I forgot the exact wording

Clearly a dedicated cellphone with a large memory capacity would be a good idea. Not only for handling customer contact, but all the photos needed. The shoppers who come into the store all take a picture of the receipt and the items before they leave the store.
And srsly, to other experienced shoppers, please please share problems that you've encountered or even mistakes you've made and how you dealt with them. I need this so badly.

You can see the customer tip right on the batch screen when you press that order, before you accept. Please check the tip to make sure it's there, before you accept. 💛
Do you know what android phones work on the Instacart app? Just bought Samsung a70, updated app & doesn't work... I can see batches but can't retrieve them.

I've been an Instacart customer for about a year now. I've had about 20 deliveries. NO shopper has ever introduced themselves. I was surprised to learn that they're encouraged to do so.
don't expect too much as in luxury hotel. the shoppers just earn the minimum wages. Maybe they don't have energy and time to chat with you. Harry up and struggle for the next delivery.
